- In this final video from our recent trip to Cheddar, we decide to walk up to the top of the Gorge for some fantastic views and epic breeze.
Our second part we head off to Weston Super Mare, for the obligatory fish and chips and amusements on the pier.
Thank you all for the lovely comments, I think we will be sharing more of our holidays later this year.
See you soon
I really enjoy watching your holiday VLOGs. Thank you. I appreciate how filming can detract from a holiday, but we viewers really get a lot from it. Thanks 🙏
Really enjoyed the last 3 videos, look forward to watching more
Great video mate. Always enjoy these.
Nice, Dan. I used to live up on Mendip, great to see the area from your perspective 👍
Thanks so much. Love watching your camping hols. They are always so relaxing to watch. Please please do some more this year ❤
Another great upload Dan of a location I’ve not been to for some years now, thank you again Dan.
Thanks for the vlog, we really like cheddar but we didn't find anywhere great for the dogs close to the site for early morning late night walks , the resovoir is a good dog walk as is the gorge. A great vlog where it's nice not to be "sold" something, really enjoyed joining you on your days out.... Cheers
I could smell those onions. Lol
I'm loving these vlogs. Xx stay safe xx
Another great video Dan. Nice to see you and Angela having a relaxing time, you're right there is a lot to do in the area. We actually stayed at Pertuth Paddocks just down the road. The salad looks fantastic that's one to try when we're away next Thanks again
Really enjoyed following your Chedder adventures Dan and Angela, our kind of style. We’ve never been there before and it looks a lovely area. I’ve checked the site out and the club have fully serviced pitches so we’ve put it on our list for a future holiday. You’ve also given us plenty of ideas for places to visit so a thumbs up from us 👍. All the very best, Rob & Gail 😀
Omg, Konami track and field. That brings back memories 😊
I know what I’m doing for tea tonight , that salad looked gorgeous x
Nice to see you both back doing your stuff.
A couple of weeks ago we had a four night stop over in this area on the way back from Cornwall to Yorkshire. We were a little further north on a CL site in Claverham near Yatton. We visited Wells, Clevedon and a couple of NT properties on our bucket list. I think I’ll try this site next time so thanks for videos and information.
Absolutely loving this, welcome to Weston 😍
You spent a quid? In Weston Super Mare? Kudos mate.😄👍
Absolutely love your Caravan, is it a Sprite? We have just started Caravaning and love it, your videos have helped us loads so thank you and hope you enjoy your Holiday ❤
Hi, No our caravan is a Bailey Ridgeway. Its a dealer special, based upon the Bailey Phoenix 640. It has a few extras from the factory including revised furniture, a solar panel and some other small touches. We have added a few bits on and updated the caravan for our needs.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your caravan in this lovely weather.
Take care
Dan
@@TheTrudgians Aww lovely ours Isa Bailey Pageant Loire it's not young but it's okay for our 1st one, still learning yet and have had a few hiccups but I suppose it's all part of it lol.
Try it with some sliced grapes in your salad bootiful. Thankyou.xx
Thank you for letting us share your holiday experiences. Dave Birmingham
Our pleasure!
Mate, if you ever fancy a trip over to Tywyn, I've got some contacts for good camp sites. Be good to see you. Bit of a drive I know but......I'll sort you out.👍
Ang is way ahead of you. Smashing it!😂
Oh yes. Weston-wotta-mare. We used to head over at a weekend for an ice cream 🍦. Known as the place where even the tide got bored, ran out to never return. 😂😂😂 Is Street still an in place to go?
Not been to Street for donkeys years. All I know of the place is the Clarkes outlet.
Hi, I would like to get the shine back on the outside of the caravan. Should I use silky cream or silky restore. I have phoned a few caravan dealers , but they don’t sell silky only fenwicks shampoo, which I have. Would appreciate some advise. Nigel
Love the video, have been toying visiting the Cheddar club site but have been unsure what it was like.
Incidentally, on the subject of resurrected piers, Clevedon pier nearby is the only Grade 1 listed pier. It collapsed on the 16th October 1970 while being load tested for insurance purposes. Incidentally I was fishing off the pier the Saturday before it collapsed. There was talk of it being demolished but thanks to The Clevedon Pier Supporters Club lead by Alan & Hilary Tinkling (friends of mine) , Hilda Baker, Austin & Margaret Davis and Ralph & Irene Fryer the pier was saved and rebuilt. The pier finally reopened in 1989. The paddle steamer Waverley has recently had trips to the pier from Ilfracombe in Devon and Penarth in Wales
I remember seeing the mid section missing as a child. - our family names are on one of the planks apparently. The last time I went “out out” with my unkle in Cleavdon - we ended up in the hotel or bar at the entrance to the pier. That was - memorable 😂😂👍
Little hack for people, if you walk up the gorge the same way as they did then you can keep going along the top and gain free access to the lookout tower at the top of Jacobs ladder.
That is correct and the walk isn’t steep at all, a slight incline at most, don’t be put off just take your time
Hi Dan if you go around that area again take a walk out on brean down at brean.
Thanks for the tip!
We had a great trip away this part of the world in 2019 and can’t wait to get back!
We’re planning on getting our first home away from home (folding camper) but I’m slightly concerned about how you keep the inside of your caravan cool when it’s hot like this?
Any tips or advice greatly appreciated!
Well, we use the fly screens a lot. Also keep windows open to create a thru draft. But, we also have AC for when it’s really warm. It’s a god send when the dog is too warm.
@@TheTrudgians thanks for that!
Enjoyed this one, could you tell me the name of the music you chose on this film. Thanks Mike
Hi Mike, So the music in this video is:
00:01 - 05:29 - From across the lake by Roots and Recognition
7:28 - 08:58 - Staycation by Paper Twins
All available from Epidemic Sounds
Hope that helps
Dan
The tide at Weston doesn't just "go out", it packs a bag and disappears for the day...... 😆
Bago salad 😂😂😂
Burnham is also nice
I’m with Angela variety is the spice of life, get through as many sites as you can
And keep the vids coming
The Bag 'o salad goes well with a pint 'o gin too ;-)
@@TheTrudgians or my personal favourite a pint-o-wine 😂😂
'Frank' was the book about him. It tells the true story behind the fictionalized movie. In the late 1980s Jon Ronson was the keyboard player in the Frank Sidebottom Oh Blimey Big Band. Frank wore a big fake head. Nobody outside his inner circle knew his true identity. (PanMcMillan ).
Yes another great video bringing back some great memories for me. Thanks Dan and Angie .
Oh yeah I did warn you about the Gorge..(🙂)
I loved Frank. The character - not the film. Wasn’t his name Chris?
Fish n Chips on the sand. Can't fault it mate.
I have a caravan too it's lunar and I got new car but I waiting for a towbar on the new car
You’ll be back to doing SOTA at this rate.
Oh yeah! That’s a good idea 😂
no that is not a holiday. sorry.
Why?
