Lake mead lost so much water look at the difference in color on the rocks! I can't wait to dip a boat into lake mead and vlog it on my channel. Good stuff man! 🍋🤙🏼
Lake Mead is a super tough place ultra Clearwater obviously lots of pressure what I've been told is there's just not a lot of giants in it either it's kind of hard to get a keeper well done
Thanks for the look at Lake Mead. I've read Bass Wars and how Rick Clunn won his second US Open. This gives me a good visual for what the lake looks like.
Mead is a grinding lake❗🥴 You are right about the bag weight, on other lakes it ain't nothing but then on Mead it's sure is something else❗👍 love the vid's keep rocking it A.U. ❗🤘🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🇺🇸👍
Cool video, Kevin Short, I stopped to help him out one day when he was broke down on the freeway I drive . He was on his way home after a California delta tournament.
I’ve been enjoying the videos. I’ve been wanting to check out lake mead now that I live in Nevada. If you want some truly breathtaking views you should fish up in Alaska. The mountains in Nevada are like hill compared to what we’ve got there haha.
A weightless senko worm that seemed to be the bite, don't you get impatient waiting tor it to hit bottom, man that was super clear water, loved the content!👍
The last tournament I fished on Lake Mead was a US Open and I remember F-18’s circling the lake and when we got back to Calville dock to check in they said the towers had came down in NY. 9/11/01. I think I won like $7k in that tournament but it never meant much after what happened. 😕
Andrew, good video. From a viewers perspective it seemed like you were getting a lot of bites/catching fish - that was fun to watch. I kept thinking u were going to get a 3 plus pounder. Hopefully on day 2.
you all probably dont give a shit but does anybody know a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost the account password. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
@Zion Erick Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I live in Henderson (from texas) and hit lake mead a few times a week but have such a tough time this time of year. Any pointers for colder weather and clear waters on the lake? Thanks
They apparently swim down, jump over the Hoover Dam, and post up at Lake Mohave until February....They sure as hell aren't in Mead this time of year! lol
If you had the time to fish earlier or later in the evening the topwater bite here is right at daybreak, homies right there are other ways but this is always the one that puts good fish in the boat. Literally have a rod just for weightless techniques but yeah I definitely felt your pain. Lol
One of the best strategies to place well in the US OPEN, (Other than getting there and practicing for 3 weeks prior) is moving 100mph with a buzzbait. 95% of the time, they wont eat it, but they'll follow it. After that, set it down, and throw a drop shot/ned rig/shaky head/etc. at it. Also, for me anyway....if there's no wind....forget about it! Watch the weather reports. Follow the wind!
Nice work. I might have to register as a AAA in one of the 2021 opens for a shot at fishing with you. Nice to see KShort. I rode with him as a co back in 2007. He was one of the first people to congratulate me when I finished second. Great guy!
Great video I just wanna tell you I caught my biggest fish on Lew’s combo’s I caught a 10 lbs. 4 oz. on a Mach 2 and I caught an 8 lbs. 2 oz. and a 7 lbs. 4 oz. on my Lew’s Custom Black here in Florida !! ✌🏼🎣🎣
First of all you've never won an open. Stop pretending to be something your not. You didn't find hardly any success at all until 2009 your a regional angler at best. Hardly pro. How many 100 plus place finishes? Bruh your a good fisherman but your heads a bit big for your britches

Good luck, nice letting your co angler cast to that follower....tight lines
Heck yea. Team work makes the dream work.
Nice job Lake Mead is a tough fishery. Beautiful place
Couldn’t agree more!
I was like. Wait is that Jesse. Cool to see my buddy Jesse as your co that day. In my local club.
He’s a good dude
Great video, good luck.
Thanks Craig!
Cool video, Kevin Short, I stopped to help him out one day when he was broke down on the freeway I drive . He was on his way home after a California delta tournament.
He’s a good one. No doubt!
Braid singing through guides and drag pulling fun. That’s the sound of a ned rig bite.
One of my favorite sounds!
Keep it modest and keep up the great content. Some of the best!
Always buddy. Thanks for the kind words and watching!
Great channel 🐐🐐❗️❗️
Thanks!
Such a cool place to fish. Man you do get around to fish tourneys. Envious. Lol. Fun to watch you Andrew. Good luck at next open.
Thanks man. I do like to fish a lot of different water!
Love the video, beautiful place ! I definitely want to make it there one day
For sure man. You will love it
Jesse practiced with me it was pretty good fishing until game time 👍🏽🐟😀😀
Right? I don’t know what happened

Wow! What a story!
Dang that Garmin sounds quiet! Love what your doin bro! Keep it up!
Super quiet. Thanks buddy!
Love the content man as always, awesome job !!!
I hadn’t heard much from Kevin nor seen much out of him since MLF days, it was good to see him !!
Kevin has been working for Bass Cat for quite a few years now. He fished now and then. Thanks for watching buddy!

@Zion Erick It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D

Hello, I'm called the (Eight Rodd Banditt) 🎣 but my real name is Cory, thanks you for the video's
Love these Andrew good stuff
Thanks for watching!

HI Andrew, Just curious what area of Mead this is. Going to fish it for the first time next week. Thanks!
Overton!
Looked pretty tough with all the rods on the front deck
Yea. You always know it’s tough for me when I have 25 rods on the deck lol
@@AndrewUpshawFishing better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it
Awesome. I wonder where the 6 lb bass were.
They apparently swim down, jump over the Hoover Dam, and post up at Lake Mohave until February....They sure as hell aren't in Mead this time of year! lol
Heck no there isn’t! Lol
Have a question, are you running braid to flouro /mono or what kind of line setup are you using
Great video that place is amazing, super clear water, was this a team tournament?good luck
It’s the format of the US Open. It’s basically a partner switching team tournament. It’s the best format in fishing as far as I’m concerned
I agree that is awesome, really like that idea
Which yellow braid are you using? Thanks for the videos
For sure buddy. I was using Strike King Tour Grade 10lb Braid
Haha I'm a AZ native and watching this is funny because it's literally the only way to catch fish in AZ when their Jaws won't open.
Seems like the norm out there, no doubt!
There are definitely other ways.. research popular baits before the senko was invented 😁
If you had the time to fish earlier or later in the evening the topwater bite here is right at daybreak, homies right there are other ways but this is always the one that puts good fish in the boat. Literally have a rod just for weightless techniques but yeah I definitely felt your pain. Lol

@@corykent7 good stuff.. thats called a search bait, you can do it with big glides too.
Andrew as co-angler what is the cost to fish. One bass
What kind of knot is that I hear going through the line guides?
Great job getting a limit. Could have been a lot worse.
Yea, that place can be brutal!
How long is your leader and what knot do you use to tie braid to fluoro
I use an Alberto. And about 10-14ft
Nice work. I might have to register as a AAA in one of the 2021 opens for a shot at fishing with you. Nice to see KShort. I rode with him as a co back in 2007. He was one of the first people to congratulate me when I finished second. Great guy!
Heck yea man. He’s a good egg, no doubt about it. Hope to see you in 2021!
Yah Meade can be so frustrating. I have done my best on green senko’s and white hair raisers. Good Job. Keep Grinding!
Heck yea. Thanks buddy!
Did you try throwing underpins at all?
I did, actually. I was going to add a fish catch in from an underspin but it was really little
Great video I just wanna tell you I caught my biggest fish on Lew’s combo’s I caught a 10 lbs. 4 oz. on a Mach 2 and I caught an 8 lbs. 2 oz. and a 7 lbs. 4 oz. on my Lew’s Custom Black here in Florida !! ✌🏼🎣🎣
Heck yea dude. Congrats!
Andrew Upshaw Fishing :Oh I pull them in thank you so much I love my Lew’s .. 💪🏼✌🏼🎣🎣
Good stuff Andrew!
Thanks man!
What lb test were you using at mead?
6-10lb depending on what I was fishing
So if you win this tournament does that put you in the elites next year?
No, the US Open is a one-off event out west every year. It’s kind of like a west coast championship.
Good video Andrew, Day 2 coming up soon? I like that you left in some minimal cursing, others may disagree but it is what it is🤣
Just real life. I thought about bleeping them out, but seeing they weren’t terrible cuss words, I figure I would let them ride! Lol
Andrew!! .....where's day 2 my man?

@@AndrewUpshawFishing you'll get there in reality I'm pulling for you. But no need for bullshit. Just fish tournaments.
@@AndrewUpshawFishing the cleaning lady just called and wanted to know if you wanted your FLW Tour and Costa Championship trophies polished again.
