Just a couple notes since the release of the video: - After reading some of the comments stating that they don't beleive the Cassie voicemail is Cassandra Cain, i'm leaning that way too. It's more likely that it's just a random girl Bruce partied with. I tried to cut it from the video using UA-cam's editor, but each time I do it seems to bug out the video for certain viewers, so I'll have to leave it in for the time being. - Commentors have also mentioned a datamined file that names the model of the diner attacker as "jason todd". I didn't include it in the video since i couldn't find the source of the datamine, but I do think it adds credibility to theory that the attacker could've been the Arkham Knight. Lastly, I believe the audio glitch around the 1 hour 10 minute mark has been fixed, so there shouldn't be any issues there. If you're still encountering it, let me know and I'll see if there's anything I can do.

I’m watching this as I’m doing laundry, and my alarm for the dryer went off literally right after joker screamed in the new game + intro. Causing me to fly out of my chair to a jump scare I fully knew about 😂
I cannot put into words how excited I was when I saw this uploaded today! I have rewatched the asylum and city reviews like 3 times now and burned through all the other videos you have to offer! Thank you so much for the time and dedication you give to these and just know you’re awesome!
when I first played the game, I turned it onto max darkness for fun, and I thought the game bugged out when I got to the intro with dead joker, due to it being pitch black, and it was only after I started clicking that the fire lit it up and I realized what was happening. Turned an already somewhat disturbing moment into a borderline jumpscare. I will never understand the hate this game gets, I personally think its fantastic.
it really focused on the wrong things compared to the previous games, it's not deserving of hate but it's not the best in the franchise in almost any aspect, not even in jumpscares
@@pauloricardo-wn6psBest graphics, Best traversal and combat, Batmobile, Joker is hilarious, decent story, everything else isn’t best, but still damn good.
Had a okay time with this game but the story doesn't hold up like people think it does. Scarecrow was a joke in the first game after batman handling him swiftly but now he's a higher power type of character arc. It doesn't make any sense. On foot combat is awesome the best in the series but driving is sickening having 80 percent be in the car doesn't make this game a masterpiece in my opinion
Hey Man I just wanted to say, You're underrated as hell. Your approach to videos and the formats you follow are extremely enticing and can keep my attention for more than an hour, while you also provide a great depth and insight into what you're talking about. One thing I noticed that's most likely another hint of batman's hallucination of Barbara's death is that when Joker blocked the view, he first proceeded to shoot himself with a real gun just like the one she had, but he just performed an act of shooting with a finger gun.
I LOVE THESE RETROSPECTIVES!!!! All of the batman arkham retrospectives ive watched all the way thru SO happy this just came out! I would LOVE to see you do a retrospective on the Imsomniac Spider-man games since they recently came out on pc! -Lots of love and appreciation, Charlie.

Great video! My favorite thing about Arkham Knight's main story achievements is that they are all named after real Batman comics. Another fun fact is that the waitress at 15:33 is actually a recycled model of Poison Ivy with a different hair color, skin tone and clothing.
I'd trade ten years of my life to give him ten more. Not just because he was my Batman, but because he is just genuinely one of the kindest souls on this earth and he made so many people happy.
I grew up with Kevin Conroy with Batman The Animated Series & Batman Beyond, he will truly missed, R.I.P. Kevin. Anyway, it's finally great to see you finally cover this game. Your reviews have not only been fun to listen to, but your reviews show me a lot of things I didn't knew about. Looking forward to part 2 of the review & I hope your doing well in life.

Rip Conroy, and I was waiting for this! From origins, asylum, city and now Knight, I enjoy your video essays. No lie, whenever I see clips, interviews, appearances and podcasts featuring Kevin Conroy, I still cry. He IS Batman, and he saved my life via his performance, how he embodied the character. His gift to me (and to the world at large) has carried me through my darkest days of my childhood, through my teens and well into my adulthood.
Absolutely love these retrospectives. One thing I’ve came to admire about the Arkham games is how much additional story there is if you bother to read or look around once in a while.
Rip Kevin Conroy, you will never be forgotten and is the definitive voice of the batman himself. And Arkham Knight is still one of the best looking games of all time, we definitely need a Batman Beyond game now.
Thank you for doing these videos! I think they help people understand why these games are so great and it's great for someone who has played them to see what they have missed in these masterpieces. It made me replay some of them. Love the work yyou put in this.!

People love to hate on Arkham Knight but I think it’s the definitive Batman experience. Arkham City and Asylum are great for the time they were made in but Arkham Knight is easily the best one to come back and play. It was made to last and it shows
Thank you, for making videos on such a beloved series of games. The arkham franchise is my favourite piece of batman media, and it's nice to see someone whom shares the same love, and appreciation for all things superheros if not more. I hope Kevin Conroy is resting peacefully. Few actors have come close. But Kevin is the one and only true dark Knight. He will always be batman.

I love how he does the unthinkable and messes up the quick-time scenes on purpose for our viewing enjoyment. God bless you sir and this bat-themed video.
I'm still personally on the fence when it comes to the Joker blood thing. I think just having Joker be a representation of Batman's fears works just fine on it's own. I do really love Arkham Knight though. The gameplay is absolutely solid, Batmobile is fun as hell, story has epic moments for every character, and it still looks good to this day (especially when compared to games nowadays). I still do and will continue to play it for years to come.
these are some of my favorite videos on youtube. i grew up with most of these games and i’ve watched your marvel ultimate alliance videos like 10 times.
I believe the ending of Arkham Knight is somewhat similar to the ending of The Dark Knight Returns. Bruce Wayne fakes his death so he can continue his war on crime while remaining in the shadows. Also...RIP, Kevin Conroy. May the Bat-Signal shine forever bright in Heaven. You will be forever missed.
I'm still watching this and i have to give credit the voiceover and transitions Show how much effort you put into this project. As for Kevin conroy may he be rememberd as the definitive Batman for many peoples child and Adulthood.
I've been waiting for a retrospective of my favorite Arkham game and It's finally here! Thanks for making this, your retrospectives are always the best!
1:14:55 the dialogue here is masterful, Conroy’s rendition is terrifying. This is especially true when Batman asks the militia member, “Remember anything else?” And the tone, context, etc. adds to the great voice acting. Very well done, one of my favourite moments of the game.
The scene where joker says “but he does show potential” with Batman finally acknowledging the hallucination while in control gives me the chills every time
Halfway through the video and I'm simply amazed by the amount of detail I missed (and I played through the game 5 times). I loved the begging of the video, paying respect to Kevin Conroy who shaped many of our childhoods. Super excited to finish the video and the second part. This is by far one of my favourite videos by you.
I like the fact that when scarecrow first injects the toxin it is visually in bruce's body, therefore we see bruce's fears. The second time, we see him inject the joker's body so the joker's worst fear are shown and it indirectly helps bruce take back control. I think Scarecrow lost because of that second dose or at least the Joker did.
I still wonder how great it'll be to see Asylum, City and hell origins in knights graphics that be extremely cool. Also Huge love to Kevin no one can never replace him May he Rest in peace
A masterpiece like no other Misunderstood and overshadowed by its predecessor Hated by many Loved but the who valued it the most An open world experience in the comic book genre like no other I’m so glad I had so many memories with this game and I’m gutted that rocksteady isn’t doing the same anymore Maybe one day
I got all giddy when I heard “Part one”. I’m a few minutes in and I absolutely love all of the detail you’re already putting into this. Gonna be an awesome watch and I’m already looking forward to part two :)
I remember a video theory from Arkham Archive which stated that Batman is still alive, however, he added that Bruce Wayne did die the moment scarecrow injected him with the fear toxin, destroying Bruce Wayne...leaving only Batman, who is in a way way more ruthless since he would no longer Bruce holding him back, something that Grant Morrison did tackle once, showing that a Batman without Bruce is way more brutal and mission focus, which is saying something !
I’ve been waiting for you to complete this quadrilogy. I look forward to part 2. Another job well done as always. I hope you find time to finish the trilogy for the Spider-Man movie games. Nonetheless, happy holidays!
Yes I agree, Spider-Man 3 needs to be done still. I’m thinking of doing a symbiote spiderman series before the Spider-Man 2 game comes out, so that could easily fit in there
On that Joke/Batman/Scarecrow scene in the airship nosecone, there's a very subtle touch I hadn't noticed until watching your recap: as Batman stands up again to confront Crane, he looks very briefly at the Joker-hallucination -- something he hasn't done in cutscenes before.
I like how Kevin Conroy had a Superman statue next to him as well as Batman in that beginning video. Makes me think about how Superman and Batman are good friends. Batman honestly deserves to have a friend as good as Superman after all the crap he goes through.

Kevin Conroy was, is and always will be THE Batman. With only the voice he was able to deliver the character in every way possible. This is a terrible loss of a great actor indeed. R.I.P. Kevin, and thank you for everything you’ve done
Boy I sure do love this version of Batman, I hope whatever rocksteady has next for him is going to pay respects to Kevin Conroy and send him off with a bang.
😭
A bang? Yes
I was about to write this comment didnt age well, but wait its only 5 months old ? 😅
I am SO ready for this.
Rest In Peace Kevin Conroy.
Also, Part 1?? 👀👀
Yes! Part 2 will focus on the dlc, side missions, and other general aspects of the game. It’ll probably be about the same length as this one lol
@@alwaysnerdyretros I cannot wait fam, keep up the great work. Youre a huge inspiration c:
@@alwaysnerdyretros I hope so the dlc was my favorite way they expanded upon the 3rd game there's so much to go into
I finally finished this game, and solved all the riddles in Gotham! I feel like I succeed a part of my life and honored Conroy! May he rest in paradise!
This game definitely hit harder now that Kevin Conroy has passed. Glad that he's left a legacy on the Batman mantel, and he will always be among the greats, if not THE greatest, to take on the role. The Arkham series is special to many of us, and I can't wait for Part 2 to close out this epic saga!
Also love how you improve with every video. Truly one of the best superhero game content creators on this site!
Thank you so much!!! Totally agree about the game feeling more impactful after Conroys passing.
There is also Batman Arkham VR
Really looking forward to the next two hours. Your video essays are some of the all-time best longform content I've been able to find on UA-cam. Excellent for sitting down to watch, or as high quality background entertainment. *Readies the microwave popcorn and cola!* 😄🙂👌
Haha thank you!!! I’m really glad you’re enjoying them! Thank you for commenting to tell me btw :)
@@alwaysnerdyretros Couldn't agree more; I can tell how well prepared and thought-out these videos are and it assures the viewers within the first few minutes that they aren't just in for a "UA-cam Video", which these days could consist of a dog juggling for five seconds and getting millions of views, but instead an immersive experience excellently told by someone clearly passionate about the material. Also, the inclusion of all the easter eggs have been fantastic as many of them, namely the unique dialogue during the GCPD attack were completely unbeknownst to me before this. That said, even if those were absent, I would still highly enjoy your detailed and easy-flowing commentary of already seen content. Keep up the fantastic work, and we'll all be here to enjoy it- AM Arcade
A detail I liked was how the joker initially came back with his skin condition from the venom but healed a little with each fear toxin exposure
I’m watching this as I’m doing laundry, and my alarm for the dryer went off literally right after joker screamed in the new game + intro. Causing me to fly out of my chair to a jump scare I fully knew about 😂
Hahaha that’s awesome 😆
I cannot put into words how excited I was when I saw this uploaded today! I have rewatched the asylum and city reviews like 3 times now and burned through all the other videos you have to offer! Thank you so much for the time and dedication you give to these and just know you’re awesome!
Thank you so much! Your comment means a lot to me and I’m so glad you’re enjoying the channel 😃
RIP Kevin Conroy and RIP Jason David Frank both of you defined my childhood with Batman and power rangers
when I first played the game, I turned it onto max darkness for fun, and I thought the game bugged out when I got to the intro with dead joker, due to it being pitch black, and it was only after I started clicking that the fire lit it up and I realized what was happening.
I just simply love it.
Props to you mate.
Thank you!!! That means a lot to me and I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and tell me. Comments like these keep me going 😃
One thing I noticed that's most likely another hint of batman's hallucination of Barbara's death is that when Joker blocked the view, he first proceeded to shoot himself with a real gun just like the one she had, but he just performed an act of shooting with a finger gun.
He also moves the gun closer to Barbara, even though he is in Batman's head.
Thank you so much!!! I’m so glad you’re enjoying them! I’m thinking about doing a retrospective on that game before the release of the sequel, so I’m hoping everything works out that way. That’ll probably be another big video lol
Fun fact: scarecrows face is his actual face, it’s not bandaging, croc tore is face apart to the point where he has no skin on his bottom jaw and his skin is just free floating
There will never be another kevin Conroy. May we learn from him and be forever grateful for the most iconic batman memories.
You will be missed dearly Kevin. His DC Pride special (which is a must read) showed his struggle and his difficulties that made him the voice of Batman.
What struggles and difficulties?
Kevin may be gone. But his role as Batmam will live on forever. Rest in peace Master Bruce.
Also, excellent video as usual Nerdy!
The fruits of your labor are finally here nerdy!
Congratulations on taking on such a big game, can't wait to watch it!
Also, rest in peace Kevin. Gotham is thankful for all you've done.
Thank you 😃
Rip Conroy, and I was waiting for this! From origins, asylum, city and now Knight, I enjoy your video essays. They’re just so dense with info, insider content that most tend to skirt across, and is just detailed with actual care for the material and effort from the developers, and the mythos. Looking forward to part 2 of this. Truly one of my fave video essayist aside from KaptainKristian. Good stuff!
Its been 7 years and I’m still discovering new things about this game
I’m struggling to make it past the intro 😓 RIP Kevin Conroy, you’ll always be our Batman 🥹❤️
The Joker blood turning people into him is a really weak idea. Dini would've come up with something better. But overall, I really enjoy the story
JLU was my childhood, Arkham series were my favorite Batman games, Kevin's passing did hit me hard, he was truly the dark knight for my generation, thanks man for this awesome content.
Incredible work as always. Thanks for your time and effort.
RIP Kevin Conroy. The true Batman.
R I P Kevin Conroy you are Batman to millions of us and we will always hear you as the caped crusader gone but most certainly not forgotten
Only seen the opening so far and I'm not crying... I've just got something in my eye... and people are chopping onions... and besides, You're the one who's crying
Hes still with you. You know? Hes immortalized with his voice acting ajd the internet.
@@Vingus Absolutely!
Absolutely love these retrospectives. One thing I’ve came to admire about the Arkham games is how much additional story there is if you bother to read or look around once in a while.
God damn it dude I was crying like 40 seconds into this video.
Rest in peace Dark Knight ❤️🦇
Rip Kevin Conroy, you will never be forgotten and is the definitive voice of the batman himself. And Arkham Knight is still one of the best looking games of all time, we definitely need a Batman Beyond game now.
Expected you to have like 200k+ subs the fact you don't is AMAZING to me. The best gaming video essay channel on UA-cam
Thank you 😃 I’m having a lot of fun making these so I’m happy. I really appreciate the support though!
Thank you for doing these videos! I think they help people understand why these games are so great and it's great for someone who has played them to see what they have missed in these masterpieces.
It made me replay some of them.
Love the work yyou put in this.!
Thank you!!! I appreciate you saying that 😃
Note on Zsasz's cameo, he was meant to be a side mission and has dialogue in the game but he was cut. He even had a picture for his profile too.
31:37 I like how even the option says "even the odds" instead of call the batmobile.
Rip Kevin This video Came at the right time He was our Batman our childhood 😢
Oh my gosh I can't believe I'm on the last episode of your Batman retrospective series man listening to this in the background while drawing has been so awesome, your analysis on the games is truly incredible and I find your voice really calming. You make revisiting these games so much more enjoyable and I can't wait to see your next Batman Arkham episode!!🔥✨🙏🏻🦇
You guys finally did arkham knight! So excited since I lover your content and been binge watching all your retrospectives
You can also see South Gotham in the distance, from Origins, when looking out from Wayne tower
Finally! Im obsessed with your videos
Thank you so much!!!! I’m really glad you’re enjoying them 😃
I will never forget playing this game for the first time and getting the daylights scared out of me by the Joker reveal. Very well done moment.
The amount of detail I’ve missed is insane
Rest in piece Kevin conroy the best Batman to ever exsist
Is anyone still running into an audio bug around the 1 hour 10-minute mark where the narration gets out of sync with the video? It appears to be fixed on my end but I want to be sure.
I’m still getting it
@@am-ol5ly I’ll see if I can get it corrected. It may take a couple hours for UA-cam to register it though
Yeah it’s out of sync for me too
@@WowThereBuddy1 I made an edit using UA-cam’s editor and I guess it bugged it. I’m reverting it back to normal now but UA-cam has to reprocess the video. Should hopefully be back to normal in a couple hours
@@alwaysnerdyretros Thanks. Incredible work on this video.
The true Batman, listening to this with a tear in my eye. Rip Kevin, thank you for bringing the dark knight to life 🙏
So sad I stumbled upon your retrospectives before all of them are out but I am now waiting in anticipation for the part two. Keep it up its great quality ! RIP Kevin Conroy
I love how he does the unthinkable and messes up the quick-time scenes on purpose for our viewing enjoyment. God bless you sir and this bat-themed video.
Hahaha just wait until the Spider-Man 3 game 😆
I'm still personally on the fence when it comes to the Joker blood thing. I think just having Joker be a representation of Batman's fears works just fine on it's own.
I do really love Arkham Knight though. The gameplay is absolutely solid, Batmobile is fun as hell, story has epic moments for every character, and it still looks good to this day (especially when compared to games nowadays). I still do and will continue to play it for years to come.
these are some of my favorite videos on youtube. i grew up with most of these games and i’ve watched your marvel ultimate alliance videos like 10 times.
Haha that’s so awesome! Thanks for commenting to tell me, that just made my night 😃
Hopefully, unlike TDKR, Alfred isn't dead.
Thank you! Even though this game often gets mixed reviews, I think it’s my favorite too
Your attention to detail with the Easter eggs is top notch I played this game multiple of times and I didn't notice some of them
0:10 😢 the legend will leave on
Kevin conroy 1955-forever 🦇🦇
1:14:55 the dialogue here is masterful, Conroy’s rendition is terrifying. This is especially true when Batman asks the militia member, “Remember anything else?” And the tone, context, etc. adds to the great voice acting. Very well done, one of my favourite moments of the game.
RIP Kevin Conroy
He is Vengeance
He is The Night
He is Batman
The scene where joker says “but he does show potential” with Batman finally acknowledging the hallucination while in control gives me the chills every time
OMGG! I’m so happy this is finally here! Thank you for taking your time to go into depth detail about this game.
Thank you for the comment and for checking out the video 😃
Every time I watch one of your retrospectives, I’m blown away by your attention to detail. I think I’ve watched all of them so far
Wait I actually still have to watch Ghost Rider and The Punisher
Thank you!!! I hope you enjoy those too :)
At last! I've been checking almost daily for this video! haha
Haha I know it’s been a long wait 😅 I’m glad it’s finally ready
Halfway through the video and I'm simply amazed by the amount of detail I missed (and I played through the game 5 times).
I loved the begging of the video, paying respect to Kevin Conroy who shaped many of our childhoods.
Super excited to finish the video and the second part. This is by far one of my favourite videos by you.
Thank you! :)
You can also see the Royal Hotel from Arkham Origins and that part of Gotham if you look beyond the bridge from Arkham City.
I played the whole arkham series for the first time because of this series and I was not disappointed. Keep up the great work AN!
A masterpiece like no other
Misunderstood and overshadowed by its predecessor
Hated by many
Loved but the who valued it the most
An open world experience in the comic book genre like no other
I’m so glad I had so many memories with this game and I’m gutted that rocksteady isn’t doing the same anymore
Maybe one day
when me and my dad heard that kevin konroy died (my dad remembers him from the animated series) we both were in tears R.I.P you legend 🕊️🕊️
R.I.P. KEVIN CONROY!!!!!!!AN ABSOLUTE BEAST OF A LEGEND!!!!!
I got all giddy when I heard “Part one”. I’m a few minutes in and I absolutely love all of the detail you’re already putting into this. Gonna be an awesome watch and I’m already looking forward to part two :)

Old Batsuit: Ahhh god it'z to heavy to do cool stuff
New Batsuit: ARMOUR!
RIP Kevin Conroy, what a legend great video!
6:17 Live Nudes with the same sign was also present in Arkham City
Watching this in 2024….Still miss you Kevin….You were THE BATMAN
I’ve been waiting for you to complete this quadrilogy. I look forward to part 2. Another job well done as always. I hope you find time to finish the trilogy for the Spider-Man movie games. Nonetheless, happy holidays!
Yes I agree, Spider-Man 3 needs to be done still. I’m thinking of doing a symbiote spiderman series before the Spider-Man 2 game comes out, so that could easily fit in there
@@alwaysnerdyretros if it's symbiotic you gotta do the ultimate spider man game
On that Joke/Batman/Scarecrow scene in the airship nosecone, there's a very subtle touch I hadn't noticed until watching your recap: as Batman stands up again to confront Crane, he looks very briefly at the Joker-hallucination -- something he hasn't done in cutscenes before.
Absolutely loved every minute of this. Great job.
Thank you so much!!!
I like how Kevin Conroy had a Superman statue next to him as well as Batman in that beginning video. Makes me think about how Superman and Batman are good friends. Batman honestly deserves to have a friend as good as Superman after all the crap he goes through.
I loved when they drank coffee in the batmobile before fighting Amazo.
