Now I really hope a full version of 'Love is an open door' with the Danish Hans and Norwegian Anna exists somewhere. It would be the most correct version of the song.
Actually, I'd like the entire Frozen movie with everyone speaking their correct languages. That would be really fun. The Scandinavian languages are fairly mutually intelligible, so as a Norwegian this would only feel natural.

I think there's something so beautifully personal about hearing the characters speak and sing in their native languages rather than the lingua franca of English. I was in frozen recently and for that exact reason I'm learning a bit of norwegian (and I think I'm gonna keep with it because it's quite lovely)
And as much as I enjoy hearing every clip, some stand out more than others, and I don't know. Maybe it's that I'm semi fluent in German, but tangled and snow white stand out as a couple of my favorites. The original story by Hans Christian Andersen was in Danish. Prince Eric's kingdom in the Disney movie isn't canonically placed anywhere in particular, but it seems to have a warm-but-not-tropical climate. Then there's the fact that Ariel's father, Triton, is based on the Greek deity Triton (a son of Poseidon), and Atlantica is full of Greco-Roman architecture. So personally, I would put it somewhere in the vicinity of Italy or Greece.

Why is everybody complaining about The Little Mermaid taking place in Denmark just because the author was Danish? The underwater world and its fish inhabitants clearly show a warm climate. Triton and Atlantis are from Greek mythology. The architecture looks mediterranean. It is even believed that the original story was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's trips to Italy, which is reflected in his descriptions of the countryside. Not every story has to take place in the author's homeland.

I don't know where people get this idea from that it takes place in Denmark, but it's either that people just haven't read the book and is paroting what others told them, or they read way too much into it being written by a Dane. 3:18 theres actually an error with the animation, in 1607, Scotland hadn't United with England yet (that wouldn't happen until 1707) so the flag on the ship should be 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 not 🇬🇧

In reference to The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The dates within the clip, I was born the Eighth of January. And, the movie itself was released in 1996, the year that I was born. Awesome coincidences. 😄

I'm actually surprised to notice that during The 18th Century the citizens of Sleepy Hollow speak Dutch before Modern English.
Also even though he speaks with a Caribbean accent, Sebastian's name came from composer Johann Sebastian Bach, who's born in Germany.

Yeah, for a long time New Yorkers spoke Dutch, and that’s why Martin van buren actually didn’t speak English as a first language.
