Save piece from an ond saw... Then you can insert it behind the saw with the teeth facing the opposite direction and saw the sawdust out of the cut... Add a wedge or two... Saw slips right out..

Wedges in the end of the log would probably have let you back out. Like you said, the blade was toast so cut it and carry on.

Oh, there are those days!! Ya just got to stop at that moment, clean up if you have to and start fresh.
My grandparents had a sign in the house which read, "The Hurryeder I Go, the Behinder I Get." I think of that often. :-) Thanks for watching Dennis!
