Stop saying “All Lives Matter”

- While the peaceful #BlackLivesMatter protests continue all over the country and the world, the “All Lives Matter” response is still thrown around way too often. I wanted to react to a couple of problematic letters to the editor of a local news outlet in which the letter-writers displayed their dismissal of the Black Lives Matter movement, police brutality, and racism against Black men and women in general.
As a white woman, I have white privilege, and I want to continue using my voice to support Black lives and provide a safe space for Black men and women to share their experiences so that we can listen. I believe that we need to stand together to fight for police reform, which feels long overdue.
We live in a time of uncertainty, and I don’t know when we will see change. But I want to have hope for progress in the future. And I hope to be a part of that change.

The one thing that to me makes no sense to me is the term blue lives matter maybe is just me good video by the way but one thing you said that I don't agree with is on hate crime on a white person well maybe you should see the case of a mentally handicapped young man who was tortured in Chicago because he was white not saying that it happens all the time but it happens.

while I'm black i agree with the phrase 'All lives matter' and don't think it's offensive. I also agree with the core values of BLM, that black lives do matter. I do however disagree some of their other idea's like defunding the police without a proper backup plan or reasoning and with the way they represent their selves and other black people. There are people who protest peacefully and i support them 100%, but there are a lot of people who either flip the racism against white people or just use BLM to loot and destroy wich gives it a bad name. I think that we need to stop the aggressive forcing of our opinions on people who disagree by making these statements that 'All lives matter' is offensive or that people don't understand something or their opinion isn't valid just because of their color, because that only causes more divide and hate between opposing groups. And we need to accept that there always will be racist people whose minds we can't change, but attacking them just puts us in a bad light.

@@RebeccaMeyer89 Thank you ... I didn't have anything specific to add, but I wanted to bump the algorithm. I'm all self-conscious now about the fact that my police brutality video script didn't say more specifically about racism, and I realized after finishing that I don't think I said the words "black lives matter", in the script, I just put them on screen. ... Maybe I said "black lives matter protests" ... not sure... Hopefully it won't become an issue since I'm obviously promoting #DefundPolice

All lives matter is basically telling black people to stay in their place. I'm a white man. I know I will never fully understand the black experience in this country so I'm trying my best to shut up and listen instead of get defensive.

The vast majority of the protests are peaceful, and looting and rioting you speak of was minimal in comparison, and the same clips of the looting and rioting are just being replayed on Faux News over and over.

Thank you for this video and what you’re saying is absolutely correct. Many Americans don’t want to come to grips with the hard fact that the US has a horrible history that is marked by violence, genocide and slavery - not things worth celebrating or feeling proud about. The same people who criticize you and the same people who make excuses for the genocide of Native Americans, make excuses for slavery and sympathize with the Confederate losers, and try to diminish the real anger of protesters of all colors (and current protests have been every multiracial in makeup) by pretending people like George Soros (he is their stand-in for all Jewish people) is behind it all. The fucking Nazi and Confederate losers are getting triggered and they just need to deal with it - when you’re not willing to apologize for horrible past deeds it means you agree with it and wouldn’t mind doing it again (and that’s the scary part).
