The bassist is Leland Sklar......he's a freakin legend!!! Part of the 'Mellow Mafia', playing with James Taylor, Carole King et al...
Poisoned with woke ideology but yeah he was good at bass lol anybody could have played that stuff
@@jarod144 Interesting take on Mr. Sklar. What do you think of David Hungate on bass? Ever heard of him?
REALLY nice guitar playing!!
Joe Jewell's solo is a masterpiece !
Mr. Rayford Griffin is absolutely smoking on drums
I'm very impressed by the drummer's playing. Everybody else is fine, too. Joe Jewell is inspired. Such a nice group of musicians!
Starts out like a rather pedestrian version of Cissy Strut, and then you guys just take it somewhere else. Oh yeah!!
Leland! Sklar! One of my all-time favorite bass players. I'm fortunate to have worked with Lee on several Budweiser/Anheuser-Busch and other advertising tracks and asked for his help on many sessions since he was introduced to me by the fine folks at Admusic. I love these studio jams and consider them great learning tools. Great to see you, Lee!
Great keys, he was really listening to the soloists and did a great job supporting them
Joe Jewel... whew!!! Everyone sounds great!!
Brother Najee laying it down!
Didn't see the bass player right away and then said whoa, Leland Sklar! Great stuff here thanks. Love this tune.
such stunning musicians!
David Garfield on keyboards was my fave. Leland did some great accompaniement there listening with both ears.
Great to see my old friend Joe Jewell smokin' on the Guitar, and he is in very good company too...
Maybe this is just an off night for him .. but .. er .. I dunno bout his playing here.
@@dk4002 Umm, no. Sorry, but never heard the being off on purpose defense. Im sure he's a great player but he didnt quite deliver here.
I love the Drumming!
The key goes
-> C (Theme, Sax solo)
-> A (Guitar solo)
-> Eb (Piano Solo, Bass solo)
-> C (Theme)
For those who wants to jam with this. ; )
Thanks
Amazing music!!!. Amazing musicians!!!
Superb cover ! You were all great !
Smokin'! You guys are great!
Robert De Niro knows how to play groove on piano!
LOL!
pmsl he so is.
A lil' bit.
I was just going to post the same comment.. then saw yours 😂😂
De Niro better lay off the pasta! lol
Very Nice!!!
Thank you Joe Lewell, I just ripped some great licks...
I love that Eb
awesome guitar playing Joe
Anything Leland Sklar plays on is worth a listen. Quite lovin Rayford Griffen's groove here too...
As someone else noted, Sklar's bass was not placed affirmatively in the production mix.....consequently, you tend to hear muffled walking bass lines and that's about it. I never have heard a concert where his bass lines are out front in the mix and I wonder if there is a reason for that.
such a classic funk song first one i ever learned
The guitarrist is so influenced by Zappa. Love it.
I’m a guitarist and a Zappa nerd.
That guy is good but doesn’t play ANYTHING alike Zappa
Zappa was a terrible guitarist.
Legendary!
Tuco Salamanca on sax. Great!
Lol and retired Mike Ermantrout on guitar
Unique, professional musician
wow, great
Lee's tone and groove are just off the hook.
That sax!
hey joe great shit !!!
That's the way you do it!
Mmmmm oh yeah...feel it in my bones!!
Sweet indeed!
awesome
Mr. Sklar is fantastic, I would have liked his bass louder in the mix. He's more than just part of the rhythm section.
Leland Sklar is one of the best bassists on the planet......
@@PFrankToob See other commentator above. He's an institution in rock music concerts and live performances/tours for decades......that's for certain.
Pure GROOVE! - ASB
A great little quintet.
Slow to get going but damm, you guys started kicking some ass. Piano solo was great!
bad ass ....... Ty ... just got home from the Detective interview .... RIP IT ....................
This is excellent!
SUPER BAND, A LOT OF FEELING. MR. DAVID GARFIELD IS GREAT . WHERE ARE THE LOBOTOMYS?.
Lee Sklar is easily the best homeless bass player on the planet.
Hard to hear him
Even his bass
man from space
If only he wasn’t retarded
everybody is smokin', but that rhythm section is just...whew!
WOW!!!!!!!
Excellent!!!
Holds the attention.
Man that keyboard player looks like Bob Babbit from side on ,great groove.
great!
it's ALL good
Garfield looks just like Bob De Niro !!
sweet
GREAT !!!! Turn it up here ..... oh I did it ! Jam on .......... Skunk baxter sounds .....
Sooo cool 😎😎😎🤙🤙🌮
Nice
Lee Sklar is schmokin !
Is that BB King's signature on Leland's bass in front of the neck pup?
that's it... feliciano dinero. silly. these guys are so good it's silly. we've played that song dozens of times but never this good. good groove. fine improv. tight
Froma music theory perspective, can someone please explain the chord changes? What are they and what might be some reasons they chose that sequence? Thanks!!!
Sounds like a little steely dan, but a lot of jazz
dinero? i thought it was feliciano on keys and god's brother on bass. no jus kiddingkk. would love to have the opp to play with people like that but out here in the woods there's not much goin on. leland has played with many of my friends and favorites through the years and is one of the most familiar respected faces in modern music. melmorable jam, jackson. shaky bernie
guyglowmore1 omg god's brother so funny
Robert Crumb's character Mr. Natural on bass.
the piano solo knocks me off
Thank BIG JOHN PATTON
for this one !!!
Took a while, but it got there (in my opinion)
what brand of saxophone does he play?
Looks like a Cannonball to me
Mighty fine playing while wearing a cervical collar!
were you talking about mr garfield's stylish scarf?
did they go from C to F to G to Eb? I know they didnt stay at C!!!!!
So... why the boy on kit gotta be in black & white???......
Garfield looks like Steven Segal....He's a Great Piano player
Wow, that's a nice groove!
What's the bass Leland Sklar is playing? Sounds perfect!
Usually uses a Lakland.
I saw an interview where he said this one is a "Frankenbass" aka a mix of parts from different places. Appears to have 2 P bass pickups spaced like J bass pickups normally would be.
Looks like piano¨s Mac Coy Tyner.
If that don't groove you... ya ain't got no pulse...
Everybody always blows the rest in the B section and plays a triplet.
Anyone know what bass the bass player is playing? Or his own custom beast?
can someone pls explain what the pianist is doing at 5:53ish in music dork-speak?
the piano solo sounds a lot like Resolution from Coltrane. I don't think it fits the mood of the song, I'm sure the guy plays a lot better bop than funky jazz.
Yeah but it cool how he took it to a whole nother place. I actually forgot what song I was listing to for a moment there.
I wonder my understanding on the changes is correct :
theme/sax solo = C7
guitar solo = A7
piano/ bass solo = Eb7
Am I correct ??
The keyboard player looks a bit like De Niro lol
+NateMantle ...you talkin' to me?
you! youuuu no you!
And plays like Mc Coy Tyson
who's the guitarist?
sorry I didn't see it's Joe Jewell
I'm not good enough to keep up with these cats, need to practice more....
Who is this bass player ?
Leland Sklar
I've seen him with John Lennon, George Harrison, and many famous rockers. Great Player man !
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
2:12 Galvão Bueno é vc? KKKKKKK
Being a New Orleans native, I wouldn't change a thing EXCEPT put Terence Higgins on drums....
Every one of these videos has something to inspire or learn from. Why do the bring out so many closet critics? Most of them are probably wanna-be's. The ones remarking on the age of the players are totally pathetic
Thumbs up if you fast forward to the solos?
Why would I do such a thing?
