I knew a few of these thingies and yes ive been playing since the open beta, the only one i didnt knew it was the apples from the Braithweathe manor
Im a day1 player, and i got a tip for ya, if your in Valentine and being griefed, epuip a trimmed bandana, and run into stable, bandana covered face wont let u access stable, but you can freely run around stable shooting out, but anyone coming in will be ported to stable screen. You would be surprised how many times this saved me from getting jumped by super posses. Gotta have a trimmed bandana tho, or else it wont work.

Also, using the rails as a highway is useful, Valentine to emerald ranch, takes less than 2 minutes using the tracks, then another 2 to 3 minutes to get over by the mines. No rocks, no stupid horsemen in your way. And plenty of game alongside tracks.
If your'e still capable of being griefed...your probably not a veteran. Veterans dont get griefed. They get notified of who they're gonna spend their ammo stockpile on.

I'm a vet and i get griefed by aholes who believe they can get a fight from high lvl players. So dumb really.

The lantern “trick” isn’t necessarily a trick but a feature yet to be “unlocked”. Just wait and see what Rockstar has planned for this game, just look at GTA5 online and if you’re a veteran of that game then you know there’s a lot more content yet to be released.

I'm at 154 & remember at the Beta stage I really valued the Strawberry Visitor Centre as it was always packed with food and kit (& it still is, if you're a newbie). It continues to piss me off a bit that it's so easy now to rank up on big XP & money rewards, when at the start we all scratched around for 200XP here and there, and if we got that, we thought we'd done really well on a mission! Very true, your comment on the griefers....it used to be a potential bloodbath all the time...these days I hardly ever see a red guy, and if I do, then he's going home feet first.

Tip:
When buying ammo from the store or catalogue,, hold A or X to buy max inventory. Its surprisingly cheap to buy 999 of the same ammo type. Roughly around $5 to $13.50. That way, if you get into a scuffle far from a town you can spawn your camp and use the lockbox to fill up on ammo.
Alternatively, you can Google the Red Dead Online Catalogue and purchase max item from there as long as your social club is linked. Unlike the ingame catalogue, the social club catalogue allows you to select the number of items you want. From 0 to 999, I believe. If you fancy using tonics, then I hope your pockets are very deep because 999 Potents aren't cheap.
Thank you so much! I already knew about buying from catalog to be able to stock up, but after buying items repeatedly it starts to load for a long time in between purchases and I'm usually trying to max out ammo, so this information is valuable to me!
I always max out ammo thru catalog, 999 of everything, then i craft 50 split point rev/rifle rounds. Being that u can craft those anywhere its very convenient and xp boost for using special ammo. Just top off the 999 every so often and you have unlimited ammo. Plus you will rip through the crafting award too.
IIRC it’s the same way at the start of online story missions. You can replenish ammo at the lobby screen before the mission starts.

I really wish they made a stronger poison effect cause I love using poisoned throwing knives as melee weapons but it’s kind of useless against players

Hold X or A when in the personal catalogue to buy maximum amount. Pick up a body when your lamp and gun is equipped to put the lamp to the hip. Switch to your knife when lassoed to cut yourself free. Set lasso to quick equip so you you can lasso someone then quick switch to your last used weapon, vise versa.
What is quick equip?
@@bryonics hit RB1/Right bumper and it switches to that. The default is fight/unarmed so it always felt like you were disarming when using it but it was switching to fist-time! To chnage it to lasso/knife/rifle whatev hold LB and select it using X (or square on PS4?)

I know my way around the whole map from Annesburg to Tumbleweed to whatever town you want.
6:58 When I want to be afk, I simply put my mouse upside-down on the W and my character walks for hours. I have used that afk time to walk with/lead my horse for quick bonding from level 1 to level 4.

I want to say that I knew all but 1 of these. I recently found the apple stash at the manor but I didn't know the lasso move.
And to any newbies, I definitely use the catalogue trick often. I get distracted all the time and leave for more than 15 minutes often. If I have animal pelts on my horse it's great to be able to not get kicked and if you wait around you might get lucky and have your lobby empty down to a few people. Then you'll have a lobby with tons of animals and frequent free roam events so it can almost be a strategy if you check them player count often and only play when the population is low.
The only downside is the regular camp and stables cost so you should make sure you're not worried about bleeding a little cash!

Be mindful where you are when you’re going afk with your handheld catalog, players can bump into your character and make you put away your catalog.

the afk kick thing is also disabled if you go into a stable (it was also good protection for me in beta since you can gallop full speed into one if you're running or being chased)

Here’s one for my fellow traders
Note you need the hunting wagon and bad honor:
You can farm 3 stars animals and other stuff in the mission “these batards can fight” I used since the update nerfing the spawn rates for animals
A_Random_Asian _Thats_A_Weeb You can do this in most of the story missions. The one I usually do it in is “The Right Side of the Tracks”. As soon as the mission starts you can hunt or do whatever you want as long as you don’t go to the mission area, when you are done complete the mission.
The spawns I'm pretty sure aren't nerfed so much as broken. On console anyway I hear PC isn't as bad. That is to say it's not broken on PC. From personal experience and dozens of other complaints on Reddit, animal spawns do seem broken on PS4 at least and from what I've seen on Xbox as well.
You can also use this trick in most legendary bounties too and some of the new Moonshiner missions.
The animal spawns have been nonexistent in any lobby with more than 16 people for about 6 or 8 months now and hopefully they'll focus on fixing it soon because it wasn't always so bad that you can actually go an entire play session in a full lobby without seeing any animals other than a few ravens or big birds. In fact condor, vulture, hawks, eagles, heron, spoonbill, egrets and crane are some of the only animals that you'll occasionally see that are worth hunting in a full lobby. And even then they'll only spawn in the air, never on the ground.
I used to see some normal wildlife in full lobbies. Granted the fuller the lobby the less you'd see as is normal but you would still be able to hunt and earn money. That is to say the animal spawns weren't always almost totally absent in full lobbies but they have been since Frontier Pursuits or maybe even a little before that update.
Yeah animal spawns are broken on free roam. I've went across States and only ever see birds.
_Thats_A_Weeb they definitely did not nerf it. It just got worse.
I also recommend doing the Philip Carlier mission to farm the Panther located near Black Belle, just south of Braithwaite Manor.
He's one of the few Bounties that let you skin animals, the others don't give the option to. Also, six perfect panthers can fill materials very quickly. I use it all the time. And, as a bonus, if you wait out the mission for 20 to 30 minutes on a five star difficulty you get around $220 and 48 nuggets plus over 1000xp. Max payout.

@@mikeb8046 yup thanks for the tip man! I always check that. Although it's very rare for me to run into a hostile player. My posse created a group chat where we can send SOS whenever we need help with griefers or delivery missions which is pretty nice. It's nice to have a reliable backup in RDO!

Free roam USED to be cool af and a great way to get treasure maps for players over lvl 100. Then R* nerfed dynamic events and have the servers so broken they won't spawn anyway.

The lantern on your belt truck can also be achieved from following the same steps but switching to a longarm weapon like a Repeater or Rifle when mounting your horse, if you don’t yet have access to an off-hand weapon.

A small exploitative method of mine: If you want to fast travel long distance for cheap and have a camp near by, re-pitch the camp to the desired area. When you open the fast travel menu, it will still give you the price of the near by camp if you do it quickly.
Isaac Graham you can also just go to the online screen and select the region where you want to spawn in. Costing you not a single cent

Good tips for the fresh meat. Got a few of my own i'd like to share.
-In the moonshine hut, there is no timeout disconnect. EVER. You can just stand there. Your cores will still deplete over time, but you wont die.
-For melee griefers, crouch and wait for asshat-about-to-be-twatted to get within punching distance, and twat 'em one! You will one hit kill them EVERY TIME. Timing is a little tricky, so practice practice practice!
-If you're being griefed by a mounted player(s) but are not mounted yourself....Use a fire bottle on the horse AND rider! Freaks the horse right the hell out, dumps the rider for your coup de grace of personal preference.

Another tip about using the catalog to avoid being timed out - if you are in your camp or out in the world with your catalog open another player can bump in to you and it will automatically close your catalog. I usually go in a store and use that catalog if I need to step away for a bit.

I am looking to buy a 3rd gun. I already have dual cattleman’s, carbine repeater and a Lancaster repeater. What should be my next buy???
If you have a Lancaster, you never need to use the Carbine ever again.
I recommend the Bolt Action (combat vs slow n steady and hunting large animals), Varmint (small birds) and Bow next. Also remember to upgrade the components at a gun smith.
@@Aro748 While the shotguns are a relatively easy and quick way to get kills, I don't like to recommend them. They make people lazy and in long term unable to improve, because they don't practice other important things like headshots and positioning as much, especially in critical situations.

This isn't a big thing but if you simply select your off-hand then select dual-weild: you can shoot almost simultaneously for the first two shots. I do it with my dual Volcanics a lot and I feel like Micah.
I haven't played rdr2 in over a month or so and this really helped and I went back and watched an old video of you'res and saw that u hearted it and that has never happened to me before so thank u and keep u the good videos

You can burn players with moonshine any time they are greyed out. Don't know if the fast travel is safe anymore. If you want safety from players, story mode is more your style!! Did some research, fast travel is safe. Bounty boards are not, hope to catch players at a bounty board soon!!!!!!

If anyone thinks there could be an online game were so many play styles can merge, and they expect not to be killed, they are way too naive. My best advice is to get your PvP skill tight so you're not a victim.
@@McSwayne the worst part is being a decent level (190) and every new 13 YO (usually ranked below 25) wanting to test me. Last night I was collecting a (RARE, ACTUALLY SPAWNED) pronghorn and dipstick stars shooting me, failing badly. on mic Im "dude, im freaking hunting go away!" he keeps shooting...after I stow my ph, I free aim him in the junk 2x and he dies. After he spawns he rides up again so I give him his wish n dynamite arrow him, killing his horse (oops) so now Im on offensive mode (somehow this red dot punk was defensive mode the entire time, and like Han, he shot first. Multiple times!). Spawns again coming at me...shooting freely at my open-bc-offensive-self. I free aim, 2 shots hes dead. I heal and he comes AGAIN!! (all the while IM all "dude, you get no reward for this, no stats, money and less XP than finding a flower! piss off ya c*nt!" (ok he got NO XP bc I killed him 4x)...)
Point here is lvl 7-25 are the new griefers and theyre so bad its not worth my time. I went Dynamite arrow hoping he'd blow his load seeing my 'awesome' wizard powers and all etc etc...after the 4th kill he changed lobbies... (oh and I never pursued him, just stood my ground)
@@andrewlowden322 right on, I typically don't read comments that long, but I read it all for you. I think there should be free roam lobbies where players can't harm other players, PvE only, but it's not in the cards. That being said, every time you load up online there's a chance someone is looking for blood. Myself included. I'm either provoking players to fire first, or just hunting blueberries. I used to be a nice guy, gave away cougars, defender of the low ranks, and nerds. Every since the summer update plagued the game with bugs, I find myself trolling for entertainment. I used to just hunt for money, but if you do come across animals it's a battle over a damn carcass. I blame my trolling on R* not fixing anything, so if I troll you be sure to submit a ticket lmao

Also you can buy provisions , tonics , ammo , horse tonics and clothing off your phone or laptop through your browser on rockstar's website and you can buy in bulk and its alot of quicker then accessing the catalogue and doing it that way

That's because gta was made on old ass console(for ps3 & 360), Rdr2 is made on a way more complex system(PS4 & Xbox 1).

If you want to fill up on ammo just hold the buy key in the personal catalogue instead of spamming it and it will send up to 999 shots of ammo to the post office.
The lantern trick also works with rifles, no dual pistols required.

Im somewhat of a veteran; ive been playing the game since it came out, but ive never bought a camp upgrade, despite me playing almost every day
Not sure if anyone else mentioned it, but when buying ammo from the catalogue, instead of spamming the buy button you can just hold it down and it'll let you buy the max amount (999) of it :) so long as money isn't an issue to some people, this is super helpful and makes stocking up faster and less tedious haha.

Ive been able to just stand by marcel with no problems, just wait out the 48 min for the run.
Usually most of these tips I found out by myself as I’m playing but I didn’t know about the Apple tip.
