Cutting my hair to help children with cancer. Exclusive updates, news, & content burrfection.com/ Wigs for Kids burrfections.com/WIG Burrfection burrfection.com/ Facebook: / burrfection Instagram: / rykytran
As someone who both follows you and shaves his head a knit cap is mandatory in winter. You would be amazed at the difference in feeling the cold that a quarter inch growth provides.
I grew my hair out and donated after a childhood friend of mine passed from cancer. I donated to wigs for kids and it felt so good. If I had a little more up top these days I’d do it again. Discovered your channel when I was sharpening an old knife of mine and didn’t expect to see this! Great videos man thanks for putting this out there!
You did it for a cause, that's what so good about growing them long and then getting them cut off. Never mind the near-baldness, they'll grow back to a normal length. When I was young, I had really long hair ( being a singer in a Rock band ), but, one fine day my elder brother got me drunk, and he along with my sister-in-law and wife ganged up and got my tresses cut off. That day, till now I couldn't grow them back ( I lost the patience and couldn't care enough ). Now, people don't believe when I tell them I had really long hair. But, I extend my appreciation to you for growing them for a cause, and then having enough courage to get them cut off. You are a good person Ryky, God bless you.
You are an amazing person. Things like this for kids is amazing. I have a special needs child and while she is not in need of anything like this. Seeing people like you doing things for those in most needs brings me smile and tears.
I preferred your hair... but its your choice, and an honorable choice it is👍. It IS a wonderful thing to donate the cutting to Wigs For Kids.. . Hopefully you will keep some when it grows back. ... or do it again, let it grow for 2 or 3 years and make another donation. 👍👍💪👏👏
Outstanding, I spent 19 years in the Army with mandatory short hair and since getting out in 2003 I have tried to grow my hair, but just can’t do it. I’m glad you found a very worthwhile cause for yours.
Oh boy! Such lovely hair to donate! Hate to see you cut it, but the joy you give will be profound! Good on you my friend! I am at about 1.5 years and will donate mine! Much love and subscribed!
you are a star for doing that Riky .... i couldn't get my head shaved it would look like a cracked egg with the number of mishaps i've had over the years like a Dyson hover handle smacking my heading, hitting a steel beam when not looking where i was going lol
Well done, good and faithful hairball… ERRR… servant! 😇 I’m sure someone will be very blessed by your gift! I started buzzing mine (#1) about a year ago, and I wish I would have done it long before!
My compliments & respect for your generosity, which is not surprising b/c your generous nature is obvious in so much that you do & say on YT. Now I am inspired to continue letting my hair grow. A haircut was the last social thing I did before Covid lockdown in March 2020 & I let it grow to show that it's okay to look this way during an emergency. I am a suit wearing team leader, and I never had long hair. Earlier in 2021, I had the idea to cut my hair to mark the end of the pandemic, but seems like it's here to stay, so I considered getting a cut b/c my hair is about 8". If it will qualify for donating, I'll let it grow for another year and do something that might help a kid feel better. Never thought about that before. Thx.
Awsome ! waitimg for my moument so much. I have started growing my hair half a year after you, I have just got to around 12' strate from me scalp and waiting for the last few inces to be abale to properly cut it.
You have wonderful hair, buddy, all black and dense, and straight! Mine now is grown for 5 years and is 60+ cm.. sometimes I feel like taking all off my head, just like you - sandpaper mode :) Cheers!
Man this is way awesome! I think it's awesome you went with wigs for kids! They do amazing work... I hope you and your family are good. I bought a Tormek a T-8 to sharpen knifes. It does a great job but I'm going to need to buy their Japanese Stone to get the edge the way I would like but it works great especially since my right wrist doesn't work right anymore.
I buzz and razor shave my head about every two weeks when I don't have the energy for every 1-2 days. Hats like beanies are great for containing warmth. Great look and a great example :)
Very cool. I donated my hair a while ago as well. Great cause. Btw - Getting ready to spend some $ at Burrfection on new waterstones. I’m over here in the Palm Springs area. You ever over this way? Thanks for the vids.
You doing any kind of Black Friday sale? I’ve got a couple things in my cart on your site right now… I went naniwa pro 1000, rika 5000 Really torn as to my low grit stone. Was maybe just going to get an atoma 400 for now to do double duty while I decide but would love some advice? Like the Shapton 320 as well. I apologize if this isn’t where I should ask this - unsure if you look at comments on old videos. Anyway, thank you. Chilly SoCal winter weather huh? 95 here today in the valley.
I donated my hair this year too, I’d been meaning to for a while and seeing my head with out a ponytail and shit was kinda crazy. Yeah the hair is fun to dry off in the shower lol, so fuzzy.
Kudos, buddy! Seriously well done. Only thing lacking was cutting it off with one of your super-sharp knives. Although I guess that would have been an OSHA violation for sure ;) Hopefully we might see something similar again in a few years!
I'm balding and will soon have to shave, wish I looked as good without hair as you do. Also, collab with Herman Lee, great idea! Herman is such a chill guy I'm sure he'd say yes.
just came by to say I literally did the same thing a few weeks ago and then I saw your video just now. thought "wow, what a coincidence" it's the same length too
I prefer just buzz cutting my hair, there is something freeing about just not having to worry about it or fuss over it and buzz cutting your own hair is simple to so by yourself.
You'll probably start to think more and more as time rolls on "why the hell did I keep it that long?" In my younger days, I (stubbornly) kept mine about the same length for a couple of years. In retrospect, it was a pain in the butt as I was working in construction, I rode a motorbike and skydived. It took half an hour to get the knots out, washed it every second day and I often woke with a rat's nest looking back at me in the mirror. I reckon you'll appreciate the more comfortable feeling, ease of care and frankly, I think it looks better. Good call on the donation.
i did the same thing years ago it is a hole thing to grow it that long. my hair grows fast so it was only like 17mounths give or take for it to get down my back i like short sides and back and i grow it out to maybe 18" so i was able to give like 14-16" it was so much work keeping it out of the way i work in a kitchen so dang was it hot i love that you did this to i didn't know you where doing till this vid nice work
As someone who both follows you and shaves his head a knit cap is mandatory in winter. You would be amazed at the difference in feeling the cold that a quarter inch growth provides.
I shaved a lot of times and you will be amazed at the fact that if you leave your hairs half inch thick you don't feel the coldness.
I donate my hair every four to five years. I've been doing it since 1998.
You are the best
"It feels like sandpaper"
So are you gonna try and sharpen a knife on it?
That was my first thought too 😂
Hahahah had the same thought
Could not skip the thumbnail!! Looks great and love what you did!
Thanks so much!!
Yeah! Preaty fresh cut

You look great!
Thank you! You too!
I liked your Jin Kazama haircut the best.

Maybe one day!
Same here lol it's all about normalizing it and getting through the first few weird reactions lol after that it's a home run
Would have loved to hear about the wives reaction!
I was at 15" when I cut mine. Been wearing the 3 - 5mm cut for about 15 years.
just came by to say I literally did the same thing a few weeks ago and then I saw your video just now. thought "wow, what a coincidence"
it's the same length too
Awesome!

Shaolin Ricky. Suits you well!
Awesome! I will be donating mine sometime at the beginning of the year to wigs for kids as well. I have been growing mine out for about 3 years.
video tape it!
Will have to see if my wife will video it. Very generous of you though to donate your hair.
Respect
Looking a lot younger sir!
Got me thinking bout cutting my hair off

Now a sister can get a new weave 😁
