Wigs for Kids is an organization that has been building self-esteem in children for over 35 years by providing handmade hairpieces at no cost to the children’s families. My nephew donates his hair twice a year. Even though he faces ridicule in school for having long hair he chooses to grow it out specifically so that he can donate it. I've always been proud of him for this.
After I donated my hair the second time I got called Dora cuz I have front bangs that I don’t grow out and I don’t like to have my hair to short
My boy does that too, he faces all kind of comments and bullying, but he grows his hair with grace and donates it with love. I can't understand who's raising those kids with those terrible hearts. 😕

I have trichotillomania and recently lost most of my hair. I bought a new wig, and I cried because I looked beautiful for once in a long time💕 I want to thank all the hair donors😊💕

Ray Pegher I had that too. It's really tough! So easy to feel embarrassed and difficult to stop. That's great that you feel like you again. The truest beauty I believe comes from loving yourself.
***** it's not mean it's fine , when i wear extentions i do plus some of the hair out of it but it is way better than plugging your own hair , i do not eat the follicles though i keep my hair in my mouth which i know sounds disgusting to alot but i rip it with my teeth then spit it out , i actually dont do that on purpose it just happens and later i relise there is hair in my mouth , i used to wake up choking on my hair not know i chewed on it before , so it's kind of scary :)

I donated my hair when I was little too (I don’t remember the exact age) and I’m going to do it again soon because I’m a teenager and am required by law to go through a rebellious phase so I’m cutting my hair super short and I’m excited to donate more hair to people in need.

I have a friend who has alopecia. When we were younger she use to cry in my arms everyday, asking me "why? why me? Why do all the girls in our grade have hair and I don't?" she said crying in my arms. I feel so much empathy for her, I feel so much pain she have been through all because she didn't have any hair. She use to tell me she have been call hideous and an alien. So she started wearing wigs to make her feel beautiful, and to this day she still is. Beauty is painful which leads to everything. I think every woman and man is beautiful in their own way no matter if they have no hair, skin condition, physical deformities, or other problems. Everyone is beautiful. Bridget is so so so gorgeous, with weather hair or not. She is still beautiful to me. And strong.

My mother passed away from cancer last year, and I just recently donated my hair to Wigs for Kids as well. I cut off most of my hair, leaving just enough hair for a pixie cut. I just got a confirmation last week saying that Wigs for Kids had received my ponytail. I hope that my hair and everyone else's hair that was donated makes someone very happy :)

I donated my hair about 2 weeks ago, and I HAD long, thick hair that went down past my butt and I donated 14 inches to cancer patients and I unfortunately don't know who it got given to, but I am happy to have improved some little kids life.

Usually they don't take bleeched or dyed hair because they're already pretty damaged. But they don't "throw it away". These hair are put together with synthetic pieces and sold off cheap.

Once my teacher told me Including my class, that a girl she had taught before in another school that she had donated her hair. she didn't want anyone to know but her sister told my teacher and then my teacher told my class, oh an that girl got a principals award. I wonder what she would think if she found out who told her teacher because she didn't want anyone to know she donated her hair 💇🏻

Cute little girl but that wig was way too big for her, she needed something smaller. Shes what? 6 or 7 and her hair looks like it belongs to a 30 year old (which it does) but the idea of these wig company things is that it is made to suit the little girl and in my opinion they could have made it to suit her a little better. Still, she looks very nice and really cute :)

Thank you for sharing this! My boyfriend, JEFF LEIGHTER recently donated 25 inches of gorgeous virgin hair. He wanted to donate as much as possible so we cut it right down to his scalp. We were going to send it to a different organization, but we began hearing negative things about their processing. One of my friends told us about Wigs for Kids. He has donated to you many times over the years and told us how wonderful you are. Hoping some child gets a real boost of confidence from Jeff's donation. Lol that happened to me, I had hair like up to my butt and cut it up to my ears, apparently it wasn’t fit for a wig...
i mean, they list the requirements (no dyes, no grey hair, length ...) so you just shouldn't cut it off if you can't donate anyway.

I let my hair grow out a lot a while back. Ended up cutting it off. When I did, the woman asked if I would like to donate it. I of course said yes, and ended up giving 3 large 7" ponytails. A couple months later, I got an email from the little boy who got it. His mother loved how much it looked and felt like his natural hair, and the look on his face in the photo was priceless; it brought me to tears. I've been wanting to do it again, but I dyed my hair, so I'm waiting for the dyed parts to grow out again, so it's all natural and be donated.

I got diagnosed with cancer last year and before I got my chemotherapy I cut my hair off and donated it too. Now I have a wig that I got for free from a fund that gives wigs with real hair to sick children here in Holland (It's not made of my hair though). But I'm still really happy with it and it looks better than my own hair, it's really shiny! :)

That's really great! I donated to 'stichting haarwensen' last summer and I'm now waiting for my hair to be long enough to donate again without having to go bald (I'd like at least chin-length hair to be left on my head).

Iris V I got my wig from Stichting Haarwensen and it's so pretty! And you also get some things to maintain the wig like special shampoo and other things. It's a really good cause I'm happy it exists! And really good that you donated, I'm sure some other kid is going to be really happy with it. I got to choose from 4 wigs so that was fun too. I choose the one with the longest and shiniest hair. Dankjewel trouwens!

Macey Rosalie My hair was really dark brown but I chose a wig that was a lighter brown color cause I always wanted lighter colored hair but I didn't get the chance to dye it. I think it just looks like I dyed my hair, it's really pretty!
I had a friend with REALLY long hair. She cut here hair a lot of times and I always told her to donate it because it was beautiful hair. She always raged and replied "WHY DONATE TO PEOPLE WITHOUT HAIR? IT'S THEIR DAMN PROBLEM!" and she threw it away. I stopped being her friend after 3 years of the same thing

I haven't had my hair cut since 1989 except for a couple 1 inch trims. My wife had several serious health problems,I told her i would donate my hair If she died, in her name. She cried because she knows how much my long hair means to me. I guess you could say i am like Germanic tribes during the roman Empire. The tribes had long hair to represent they were free from Roman oppression and 1989 was the one time it was cut since i got out of the navy in 1977. My wife of 40 years in January Passed February 4th i am waiting for an upcoming wedding because one of my Granddaughters is making me wait until after the wedding. then the hair will be donated,hoping it will help make some little girl happy.

Mon El I would think the color wouldn't matter. It can easily be changed. If your hair goes to a cool person, they may want blue hair : )

before my wife passed last year, I bought her a Dark brown lie her own hair was naturaly. With GREY mixxed in, and it was HUMAN hair 100%. anything possible i have mors than just 12 inchesi bet i could give 16 its so long

I donated my hair to a little girl named Angie, and she lost her hair because of cancer. I cut off 11 inches of my brown hair, and I’m only 12 years old! I feel really great about myself for helping this little girl feel happy. If you are thinking about donating your hair, you should definitely do it!!

I've been growing my hair for almost 5 years now and I'm donating it in like a month.. My bestfriend passed away in 2010 from leukaemia and,I just want to be able to give something to a little girl that needs something like this just to know that I'm making someone happy makes my day. Same as im going to become a paediatric surgeon when I get older to help kids and people that went and are going through the same things that she went through. 😊😊

I every year or two(depending on how short my hair is the last time I cut it) i donate my hair. This made me cry, too see that beautiful little girl smile and say "now I have hair." Brought so much joy into my heart. That is exactly why I donate because I know there is someone out there who is of need of hair and I have plenty of hair. My hair grows back. Their hair may not. And it brings so much joy to someone once they hair. Such a simple thing can do so much. Just like it did to the beautiful little girl who was beautiful with or without the wig. Judging by your comment you don't seem very nice. It's a small child that has cancer you do not have to throw a pity party for yourself because you don't get free hair.
I agree and im not trying to be rude but that little girls illness is probably life threatening and i know for a fact that anxiety is not life threatening so stop making others feel sorry for you. And i bet if bridget heard you say you dont care about her she would be upset shes only about seven years old shes just a child.
:)smiley it states at the beginning of the video that the little girl has alopecia which is hair loss, yes it can be caused by things such as chemotherapy but you can just have alopecia and have nothing else wrong with you. nowhere does it state that she has cancer

i proudly donated more than half of my hair to a mom, whose child has cancer. a few weeks later, the mom sent a photo of the child with a long brown wig, which used to be my hair. she looks so happy and it warmed my heart.

I nearly cut my waist-length hair for donation and luckily I found out in time that hair with grey strands are not qualified... I’ve always had grey strands in my black hair since I was little (genes from my father’s side). I’m just really glad I found out mere days before I cut off my beloved hair
