Always tradeoffs. There was a reason why a lot of people were running Dead Air Sandmans "Bigger bore traditional can" on all their 5.56 pews for a while and still do. From tone to affordability/availability. Keep up the good work Jay in teaching smooth brains, like me, about pew mufflers.

haha thanks so much for your interest in the research! Glad it helps. And yeah, sometimes, having a bigger bore aperture pays dividends in ways that make a system practical for a variety of platforms. It's important to note that not all designs have performance that can scale in a way that is efficient. Some designs may lose a lot of performance with a larger bore; it really does depend. Regardless, we do feel this is a great case study and we are pleased to be able to publish it!

Have you had a chance to look at the New B&T 3D printed cans? Also, please test the RC3 to validate my hate for the Razor 556. Also, RDLs and Squats will set you free.

@@TheJaySituation Do you want to? Also I wonder how close the bore of the baffles of the RC3 is to the SB2? They’re definitely larger than the RC2.

I enjoyed the podcast sir. If I may ask, how do you like the Diligent Defense Enticer 30 vs the Polonium 30? I already have a Banish 30 from SC but looking for another can to dedicate on a .308 permanently. What are your thoughts sir. Oh and I’m on a bit of a budget too. lol!
    Enjoy all of your content!!

Thanks for listening! Glad you enjoy. We have tested the Enticer-L, which is on the website. Have you checked out the rankings section, here: pewscience.com/rankings ? that could help!

@@TheJaySituation thank you sir! I don’t suppose you would have a preference of one over the other. Thank you sir and please keep the content coming!

You are most welcome! Unfortunately, I can't give personal preferences for silencers because folks see them as recommendations..... and we really can't recommend specific silencers because we are a test laboratory and our policy is neutrality in that regard. I can tell you that sometimes I use louder silencers when size and weight is really important, but I do use all of the PEW Science data to help me make decisions. When choosing a silencer for a .308 bolt gun, I typically go for light weight and a maximum length I feel comfortable using. If something is suuuuuper quiet, I tend to like to use it for extra protection when hunting. I think between the Enticer and Polonium-30, the Enticer is probably going to outperform the Polonium-30.

Any time, and you are most welcome! Sorry to learn about your hearing damage. Hopefully silencers, in combination with other PPE will help conserve it further. The entire thing is a system; glad the information helps, and please reach out any time!

That’s the only thing that makes his videos hard to listen to is he could say everything that needs to be said in like five minutes, but it takes way longer because of the rambling 😆. Regardless, he’s one of the best ones to get this information from that’s for sure!
