This is my favorite video!! Idk about this place! I love rock n roll & all the nostalgia & history of this place. Will definitely, be taking a road trip, to the Rainbow! Thanks German!!
The Viper Room, used to be Filthy McNasty's in the 1970's. It was Evel Knievel's hang out. Evel & Filthy were good friends, Filthy was out at Evel's Snake River Canyon Jump 1974, he was driving a black velvet Hearse! I was there!!
I know Filthy McNastys well, I lived almost right there, saw Berlin there before signing with a label. I never knew the Evil Knievel connection before, Thanks for that, appreciate very much.

Mike ,I really love seeing the history of the places here. I think that the fact that you speak carefully and slowly with love for this place really resonates with your audience. You're a great ambassador for Venice Beach and LA. Keep doing what you do!
I lived in the block just behind the Rainbow Room right out of college in the mid-80s and could see the sign from my front door. I'd go in there, see all the people, but I wore thick glasses and was obviously no rocker and certainly not a star. Sam Kinison was there once when I was there; I appreciate him more than ever now.
Hey, I was a dork too. But it actually got me the girls there. The out of town tourist type. I'd be like the only guy that was "normal"; out of the most dudes that dressed glam, long hair and what not.
Hey... now we got stuff too! Yep we have light up boxes that conveniently fit in our hands that pump nonsense information to keep us tranquil, makes it much easier to control us man

Spent last week in LA, was in this bar nearly every day, such a great place, watching this video has really cheered me up and look forward to going back again soon!
I have so many memories of the Rainbow! I first came there in 1975. I hated disco and the Rainbow was my rock and roll refugee camp. I was a fixture on its dance floor upstairs and would often be there from 9 pm to 2 am when it closed. I went there for decades. Arthritis has taken away my dancing days and nights. But there are some amazing memories from when I was a Rainbow "bad girl." And I am still the best of friends when a woman I met in the parking lot back in 1980.
