Yes, I used to love going to the "Bow". It was my main go to spot for my birthday celebrations. Then reports of its roach infestation hit the news and my friends didn't want to go there anymore. Damn, fear mongering media.

I have so many memories of the Rainbow! I first came there in 1975. I hated disco and the Rainbow was my rock and roll refugee camp. I was a fixture on its dance floor upstairs and would often be there from 9 pm to 2 am when it closed. I went there for decades. Arthritis has taken away my dancing days and nights. But there are some amazing memories from when I was a Rainbow "bad girl." And I am still the best of friends when a woman I met in the parking lot back in 1980.

Interesting video, I never been to The Rainbow, in my days, because upstairs was always private. Saw some great concerts at The Roxy:) Also The Troubadour had great concerts, saw Elton John there, by special invitation, in 1975 (hey, am I bragging - hell yeah!). The 60`s and 70`s where the best days for Rock and thank-you Japan for bringing back fun ROCK!!!

Vielen herzlichen Dank GiV! The last original song Jimi Hendrix played during the 1969 Woodstock festival is a hauntingly beautiful instrumental he named Villanova Junction. I've always wondered where that name Villanova came from. Now thanks to this fantastic virtual tour you've given, I'm feeling a lot of joy & excitement with this video. Mmmm, believe I can also smell traces of that familiar mixture of old tobacco, alcohol & musk in this room we're in...I love it. Tschau!

I was there last year and the hostess told me no filming was permitted. They just may have made an exception for GIV a.k.a Sam Kinison.

Shoulda been there in the 80's, The Rainbow should be designated a historical site, an preserved as long as ground remains beneath it !!!
