Two things I learned from the is video is that the demigods have a harder time with rats than the non-demigod remembrance bosses. Also, rats can be staggered.
The demigods are mostly human-sized and often lack disengage options and/or big AOE attacks and so get ratpiled. Malenia wins because her lifesteal grants her a lot of sustain potential in mob fights, plus she has Waterfowl Dance and Scarlet Aeonia (not that she needed it in this case). Mohg wins because Nihil damages everyone, Maliketh has a lot of dodge moves, and Hoarah Loux wins by flexing the rats into dust with his pure chad energy.
Hoarah Loux diving headfirst into the middle of the rats and getting dogpiled was the funniest fucking thing to me... and then he went full Ultra Instinct.
Malenia and Maliketh both basicaly went "you know what, im done with screwing arround". And knowing how it would end against Rykard, im more impressed that they got as far as they did.
Technically speaking, the rats wouldve won if Rykard didnt have that pool of magma around him. As easy as it actually is to stunlock him, it wouldve been a clown show if it wasnt for his infinite dps check environmental attack
Don't feel bad, man These 50 rats died like the brave 300. If the last rat could, it would have given a mighty warcry before its doomed charge at the end. If 50 rats can do this to gods, imagine what the whole rat population can do. They don't have to belong in the dark sewers. They can take the world if they want. These 50 rats died carrying hope
The real boss is the parkour down to the bottom. Killed me more than any boss in the game before I finally got it. ...then found out I missed the fingerprint shield.
a tip for getting down there easier: Ash of War: Storm Assault (usable with polearms and twinblades) and the weapon art on Vyke's spear cover the perfect distance to get you from platform to the next.if you don't meet the requirements for the weapon, or you're out of mana, you can still use the weapon art for the jumps.

The rats are especially pesky in Elden Ring. They take multiple hits even if you’re using a powerful weapon. Other souls like games at least had the decency to make them one-hit enemies
Damn watching Rennala get absolutely mauled in the corner as all the rats were swarming her and creating this huge pile of rotting fur and death, and then her scream once she was defeated genuinely made me feel sad and terrified 😥😰

If you have to know and still dont. This is the "boss" from the elden ring optional tutorial cave. A normal soldier of godrick. People memed him into being the hardest boss and named him "Soldier of God, Rick" and saying that he is by far the haedest boss.
They did him dirty. One of my favorite bosses but he's way too easy. I hope they have a DLC that explores more of the starscourge and the meteor beasts. Although that scares me as the Fallingstar Beasts are the worst.

Things like Rennala's Full Moon, the Giant's Flame spell, Death Lightning, and maybe even one of Radahn's gravity spells. While we're at it, why doesn't he have any protection spells other than Law of Causality to make up for his low poise. It could be seen has him knowing of his weaknesses and doing his best to counteract them. Actually, I just thought of an idea: What if he had a permanently applied Law of Causality so that players can't just exploit his low poise and wail on him till he dies forcing them to back off after every four or so hits.

@Michael Edmunds yeah and why didn't they give him spells from the other remembrance bosses that we can face before fighting him. Things like Rennala's Full Moon, the Giant's Flame spell, Death Lightning, and maybe even one of Radahn's gravity spells. While we're at it, why doesn't he have any protection spells other than Law of Causality to make up for his low poise. It could be seen has him knowing of his weaknesses and doing his best to counteract them.
Actually, I just thought of an idea: What if he had a permanently applied Law of Causality so that players can't just exploit his low poise and wail on him till he dies forcing them to back off after every four or so hits.

I have yet to play this game because my computer can't run it but the sheer amount of "main" bosses (excluding the ones in dungeons and minor bosses) is mindblowing. And the movesets of most of them... 🤯

@@raptorxrise5386 he did a breath attack aoe that always seemed to tick my health down instantly. Im sure build matters. But he would smoke me more than almost every fight I've had. Regal Ancestor Spirit was genuinely thrilling. Also Rykard is OP at these. Wonder how his DPS compares to the others.
So it appears that Rykard genuinely hits harder than most, he just has no poise and is slow about it. 🤔 Like a glass cannon in a non glass cannon looking frame.
