@@mmnn3326 but they they would need different people 💔 I like these guys
I was thinking the same
Five Guys doesn't actually give you "extra" fries. They give you a specific portion that they've calculated into the price. They place them into the bag and let you perceive that as "extra" as part of their brand.
Yeah kinda true. I work at fives guys in the UK and in the training they talk about being very generous with fries ouside the cup but 90% of the time just depends on how many fries are cooked and how many orders there are. Also top tip: if you "forget" to order fries online and go to pick it up (at least where I'm working) they will just give you them for free
Also, as an employee of Five Guys, in one of the training videos the employee asked a group of people if they wanted their fries refilled and did so free of charge. Not sure if that's ever been done properly but it's made me wonder
Yep, that's how selling products works
As far as I’m concerned, they are extra, as there’s always too many.
Lol I’m a five guys worker in America and we profit a lot on or fries and drinks so they dont care about giving you a lot of fries because either way we make a profit off of them. It all depends on who works and how many fries were dropped but the company itself doesn’t care if we put 3 large fry worth of fries for a small because we still made a profit
One of the cooks at Five Guys rotates from store to story near my home in New Jersey. While making my order, I greeted her and told her that I recognized her from one of their other locations. I ordered small fries; she practically filled up the entire brown bag with fries! Such a lovely gesture.

as someone who works at five guys i recommend getting a regular sized fry (in america at least) when you go. the regular and little cup sizes look quite similar and the large looks like it has a huge difference to a regular, which might make you go for the large if you want a lot of fries, but it holds just about the same amount of fries and costs a lot more. always go with the regular
As another 5 guys employee, that's not entirely true. The small and regular do basically have the same amount of fries, but the large absolutely has more fries than the reg and the small. My advice is getting a little if you're on your own, and getting just one or two larges for everyone to share if you're in a group; 1 large is about the same as 4 smalls in terms of quantity, but 1 large is only half the price of 4 smalls. With so many of the people who openly complain about the prices one of the things I often see them do is buy too many small fries, when they could've just bought 1 of the bigger sizes to share and save a lot of money.
I'll go with the somewhere else option, somewhere else being any place that doesn't want to charge me £7 for a poxy little hamburger.
Meat is ALWAYS the uncooked weight for portioning info… I thought that was common knowledge. I’m assuming the fries was an uncooked weight as well. Hotdog was probably also meant to be weighed without then bun
Yes.
I think you nailed that.
That’s why I only order small fries in five guys. They give you fries by their emotions

What astonishes me is how consistent these companies are with their short selling. We saw it with BK and Starbucks as well: when a company is low, its low by exactly the same amount and in exactly the same way both sides of the Atlantic. It can’t not be deliberate!
i always take the toppings in to consideration when thinking about the price at five guys. they have a huge variety and they’re all included in the price, which helps. hell, you can practically make a whole extra meal out of the toppings alone 😆
Yes all the topping and sauce options they have are nice. I guess they kept it plain to simplify the comparisons.
Maybe they should just charge for them instead of ripping everyone off who just wants maybe cheese and ketchup and/or mustard. Also, subway charges the same price whether you get every vegetable or none and they’re not overpriced.

Should have tested this with individual orders of fries. My theory is that they fill the cup, then regardless of what you order, an extra scoop goes in the big.
I'm sure it's not exactly that, but I'd put money on if you only order one fry, you'll get closer to the correct amount.
It's that. I work there and that's what we do. There's a work around if you order one Cajun one regular fries they have to come in separate bags and you will get the extra twice.
All hamburger patties weights are precooked weights. It does not matter what fast food chain you go to. And technically speaking, a hotdog (if served on a bun) is indeed classified as a sandwich.
You actually are paying for the extra fries in the bag and is a marketing strategy which make customers think they are getting value for money.

So I can give some insight into the fry potions (at least so far as the U.K. Five Guys is concerned):
We do not measure the fries on weight, we’re just trained to give the cup portion and then, depending on the size of said portion, either a half, full or ‘overflowing’ topper cup. I do wanna know where the estimates you guess got are from, they ain’t in the manual
Well, pricing depends on location as well. It’s cheaper in Louisville than it is in Los Angeles or London.
Also, it’s the price for quality as well.
*APPLE-CALL-A-TENT-ALL*
Yeah that's about right 😂😂
Me at yesterday : food wars ran out of content now.
Food wars today :
For the fries, it’s 2 extra scoops per one overall order. So since your order consisted of 3 orders of fries in one order, you only got the two scoops. The better way to measure is to measure all the extra fries with each cup of fries or have 3 separate orders and not one massive order.
The fact that they cut the hot dog in half for some reason makes it better. That and fries and your set.
