my school first form english class had an excursion to the ABC studios in Sydney 1975 and Garry McDonald was rehearsing for his show and agreed to meet us...he was in Norm Gunstan character and was a genuine pleasure to meet and signed autographs for us and made our day so exciting.....thank you Mr McDonald for being so kind to a bunch of westy school kids ❤
A classic show from a classic and muched loved character. How Australia needs a laugh like this now. Interesting in that Norman mentions the reverend Fred Nile. All these years later ,and the very reverend lingers on , and on , and on. Norman for PM !
Norman Gunston was trending on Twitter for some reason so I ended up here watching the stuff I watched as a kid. I can't bloody hear anything! even after going back a few times...getting old.
its too politically incorrect to get a DVD release. could you imagine in 2021 a host asking for girls aged 14 to 17 1/2 to send in their applications to be barrel girl?
@@mattyguff1 These were broadcast on Foxtel's "The Comedy Channel" in I *think* circa 2003. Some of the master tapes are with the NFSA currently but for a DVD release they would have to trace every single person appearing on the show for permission/residuals and that's not an easy task.
I think its sad that theres no brilliant comediens in this troubled world now like in the 70s & 80s? Good old fashion ed wholesome fun & laughs.... purely.entertaining & not an ounce of satanic influence like in the media today:) bring 😂❤back the good old days, wen goodness & God laws were obeyed by all:) good old fash ioned humour & hellarity.love & heavenly blssgs:) pia&family 🤗 ❤🎉
Norman Gunston is depressed about rating '11' on the ABC on a Sunday night, how quaint. (Ok, that's really bad for 3 channels, but it's amazing for 50+ countless streaming services.)

Thanks for posting this. Takes me right back to 1975.
Only alter ego to win a Logie! Wonderful person. Mother and Son was also awesome.
Priceless.
I love how he pretends to weep.

What an entrance! I loved him then, and I love him now!

So lovely to see Mike Willesee, young and handsome. Love the bright yellow 'night and day'. I don't think anyone calls them 'night and day' anymore
Gunston was a genius.
Wow.... have you got more of the original series? Unbelievable that to date it's never had a comprehensive DVD release... I'd love to see the rest.

In the future, Mike Wilese was the owner of the Sydney Swans football team at one time. 🤔

Back when abortion was only semi-legal.
This was a real find. Thank you.
A Gem. this probably got erased by the ABC during the tape purge in the 80s.
Nope. One of the rare ones that survived the purge believe it or not, they were rebroadcast by The Comedy Channel in 2003.
loving it
Miss ya hope ur ok Gaŕry
Looking for video of Norman singing Send in the Clowns (with hand gestures). Does anyone know?
You can see it on the Norman Gunston show DVD
That was brilliant, thanks for the reminder.
