I just love this whole group. When Jeff was on the first time I was happy to keep seeing him and I used to wonder what happened to Panda. Derek is great with the knowledge and this show keeps getting better. Loved the cruise info too.

“On our honeymoon, they put us in a kayak without any instructions, pushed us out into the water, and yelled Teamwork!” … Seems like a metaphor for marriage.❤️😉
Enjoyable conversation again. BTW, as you Amy said she wanted to go horseback riding, I was standing next to my daughter’s horse cleaning up his turnout. 🐴💩😂

We rented a Pontoon boat a few weeks ago at the Grand Floridian, I’ve wanted to do it for years and finally got to. Not only was it a great way to spend the afternoon, it was fairly priced and they offer a 15% DVC discount.

Resort hopping on Skyliner in early December to see all the Christmas decorations at Boardwalk, Yacht and Beach Club, Rivera and Art of Animation. Just walking around the Art of Animation Resort was incredible.

Unfortunately there were a bunch of really good activities that they stopped with COVID and never brought back. “Dining with an Imagineer”, “Highway in the Sky Dine Around”, and two backstage tours in EPCOT.

Also at the shades of green golf course their putting green is actually a 18 hole putting green you can start at 1 and play through all 18 holes on the green. You don’t have to be golfing to go over and do that so it is basically a free mini golf experience for putting. My husband and I have done it and we are planning on taking our kids next time for a free afternoon activity. (We do bring our clubs down though for golf anyway so I’m not sure how it would work if you didn’t have putters with you since it is on your own.)

Pre covid you used to be able to do a 30 minute culinary tour of Jiko and Boma at AKL at 4 in the afternoon. Not sure if this came back after covid or not.
I could just resort hop for a couple of days and not go in the parks and have a fabulous time looking at all of the different themeing!

We went down during Christmas 2022 and on Christmas EVE we did the night time Safari ride around Animal Kingdom Lodge. They even made sure they had an accessible lift to get my wife in her wheelchair up into the ride vehicle. It was also unusually cold that night and they provided blankets to use and night time vision device to look through. It was really cool to ride with the animal care team and learn about the different Savannahs around the resort and the different animals. We got to drive by the place where the animals go when its too cold for those that need it and even the Savanah where the animals go when they retire from being in the public. It was a really fun experience even with it being below freezing that night. They even told the tale of the river hogs and guests calling thinking there was construction going on late at night but it was only the hogs getting to excited with there new toy in the place they stay in the back part of the garage.

Thanks for this video discussion. We have been DVC Members since 2007. We have points we need to use but didn’t want to fork out the $ to go to the parks this year. We decided to book 3 nights at Beach Club and then 3 nights at Copper Creek. We will going in July (which is another reason for visiting the parks… 🥵.). We are looking forward to just relaxing at each resort and doing all the things we are normally too tired to do.

Resort Day, especially with kids. The cast members do a great job with poolside activities, there is always a quick service restaurant and bar nearby, and you can end your day typically with s’mores by the campfire and an outdoor movie. Raining, no problem! Most resorts have an arcade and some type of crafts and indoor activities.

This is kind of how I lured my husband into loving Disney! And thankfully we got to do it before COVID since what he and my son really loved was renting the two people sea raycers out on 7 seas lagoon. Unfortunately they never brought those back. But before we ever entered the parks (which I knew he wasn't looking forward to), I booked a whole day of mini golf and boat rentals and good food at Disney Springs. From there on out I had us at Yacht club where he could enjoy the pool. On subsequent trips we have done the monorail crawl, the skyliner crawl and I am planning for the foot golf at oak trail this year! I've also told him I want to do the segway tour at Fort Wilderness!

I can and will second third and fourth the Dive Quest experience. This is a must do. The looks on the kids faces looking into the aquarium is priceless. I remember doing this tour when all you got was a T-shirt and you could buy the dvd of your dive. They also had the old dive bell (just rotting out back of the aquarium) that you swam into and took your mask and regulator off to wave to the camera guy. You can bring your own personal mask and I suggest you do that.
The fireworks cruise and renting the boat are fantastic. Grab lunch from your favorite QS and head out on your own pontoon boat over to the shoe tree....I have to agree with Derek on this one for sure
The free tour over at Wilderness lodge is a good way to spend an hour with Jack. You meet at the fireplace at 9am. You will learn some history about Walt and the Wilderness Lodge. He has some good information and some easter eggs.
The Segway tour at Fort Wilderness is a good one. The Segways are the 4 wheel drive versions. Wear cushioned shoes. I miss the EPCOT Segway tour.
I would love to do the Steam train tour.
The KTTKT and BSM tour were fantastic.
I am sure I will think of more to do once I hit send on this comment

I'm trying to do something new, each trip. I love the behind the scenes tours. Still on my list is swimming with the dolphins. Will get to it one day I hope. There are a few tours that didn't return that I was hoping to try, like the Undiscovered Country ( I think that was the name) in EPCOT.

Many a vacation in recent years we have elected to skip the parks altogether. There is plenty to do just at the resorts and Disney Springs to take up your time on vacation. We would often rent the “mouse boats” or whatever they’re called now. Being that we used to live in the area, we know there’s also a ton of things to do nearby. You can also do day trips to Cape Canaveral or to the Hard Rock in Tampa.
At the resorts, there’s the pools and restaurants. Many also have tennis courts. The Beach Club has a volleyball court. Heck, you could even spend a day resort hopping.
Plenty of outdoor activities to do, in the cooler months (November-March). There’s also the resorts outside of Disney World/Disneyland, like Aulani, Vero Beach, and Hilton Head Island. We have yet to stay at Aulani, but it’s on the list.
Since we always have a car, options are expanded. If you don’t have a car, still plenty to do without leaving property or going to a theme park.
