you can map the buttons to fit your needs, i like this one compared to my numark 2go2 2 you can use the sync button as a echo out by mapping. the numark has a better cut in time but this thing is really cool. thanks for the review.
I have a traktor set-up, but I'm getting this because I also have serato loaded on my mac. Plus I'm thinking of getting the denon mc7000, so I'll use this to learn everything about serato before I make the big purchase. I'm also going to use this for summertime cookouts, with a pair of gemini 8togo's. This is a banging little set-up which requires no gas generator because only the laptop requires power. I'm gonna use a rechargeable power station for that.
Probably be good for going through quick little mixes and transitions as you mentioned and nice to just have something small to set cue points and beat grids instead of breaking out the sz2 on the kitchen table 😜
This thing is so much fun to use. The vinyl mode is very responsive for basic scratching like beat juggling and baby scratches. The bass eq is just what I needed for my recordings. My only question is if they can have Bluetooth keyboards, why can we have Bluetooth controllers.
Latency. It’d work for getting the commands to the computer, but Bluetooth has a relatively long lag time between the input and the output, so, while the latency isn’t so noticeable for something like typing, it won’t work well for live beatmatching etc.
I picked one up just to play with MIXXX and stream online for some friends without having to use my larger setup. I love the compactness and even remapped some aspects to fit my workflow. Only complaint is I feel like the jogwheels aren't very responsive. Like I'll start to turn one, and it takes a second for things to suddenly catch up and the controller to see I'm doing something. Not sure if it's a MIXXX issue or the controller. Not the end of the world. It was an $80 controller for fun. I do love how this one has some means for EQ while others done. So I can use the bass when I'm doing long blends. Might remap the quick effect/bass filter to control gains. Not regretting my purchase at all. Will still use and play with it. :)
@@kaibe5241 I've been playing with the settings on MIXXX and it's improving. As long as I've DJed, I needed to really learn how to tweak the settings in my software.
My one problem I had with this is the mini jack. If you use it on a medium size system a slight touch of the mini jack causes a loud static sound. No one ever talks about this I don't know why. You have to use a flat end of the mini jack to avoid the loud static sound. This is something that's never mentioned about this controller. Fyi
I was looking at this to play around with an try some transitions out while on the go... One thing that it doesn't have is a browser and load like the Numark2Go. Could I map say the sampler buttons to go up (1) and down (3) my crate and (2) load left deck (4) right deck?
M16music the Numark you have to pause to scratch. If you press play, all the jog wheels do is increase or decrease the pitch which I don’t get the reason why Numark did this!!!
Is it worth it paying extra to get this over the numark dj2go2? I know they are the same price but in my country i eighter have to order it on amazon for 115 dollars with shipping and fees or pay 100 euros on a Bulgarian site. For the dj2go2 the price is retail plus 2 euros for shipping.... So do you think its worth it?
question for anyone that can answer it. So, I have not purchased the Serato pro-Licens the software came with my Pioneer controller (DDJ-SZ2) and activate when the controller is plugged in. So the question is will this work with Serato pro in this case?
E-Sharp Entertainment no. You’ll have to use lite. The license is embedded in your SZ2, so you’ll have to buy a separate license to use anything that’s entry level without a license.
Dude my fucking fader and volume knobs arent working i tried everything. Do you guys have any suggestions? Pretty dumb there's like no help for this online anywhere.
I have a Numark 2go2 and i hate it bc its not jog wheels its a freaking pitch control/search wheel.........I am buying this once i get a better back up table...lol'
I think you´re doing great. Thanks for the hard work. I will not buy it, I am stuck on my vinyl love and because you made the inventors look like idiots. they could have done better. Especialy when they listen to what you say. Its so obvious. More possibilities. More outcome. They should hire you for the development of version 2.0 !! all the best . DJ OGB // 93,6 JAM FM // BERLIN
You can scratch with a DJ2GO2 while the deck is playing if you use Virtual DJ2018.

Awesome tips!

I read one reviewer said it works with traktor. Is that true? I’m a traktor user also.

It would be great for that!
Great review fam I will make sure to share this out with everybody into my Dj family. Keep up the work
nice little unit ... but i have to mention it works with VirtualDj also ...
And it works way better in Virtual dj
Great review! It's a nice compact controller that is perfect for traveling.
Crossfader lag needs addressing jog wheels are good..
Just got it. Great saver when your main controller goes out. And cue up on your bed your songs!
Solid review my broooo! Thanks. Buying it now.

I'd get it replaced, watching some people use them to scratch it's clear it shouldn't be lagging.
what adapters did you use to stream live, since it doesn’t have rca inputs

That is something that I will have to try.
Yes! That's what I've done!
I heard the numark you had to pause the song to scratch or is that with Serato DJ

Any workarounds for having no track browse / load controls?

can you switch the fader to reverse/hamster?
Yeah, this is an option in serato
Dude my fucking fader and volume knobs arent working i tried everything. Do you guys have any suggestions? Pretty dumb there's like no help for this online anywhere.
Thanks for the great review! What is the tempo adjustment range you get on this controller? And can you adjust the range to either 8/12/16 etc?
You can if you have serato dj pro, just midi map the range button.
Can use this in GarageBand with a home made song
HI HOW DO I LOAD A NEW TRACK? AND SELECT IT?
Got any controllers you wanna get rid of?
Is there a workaround to use this with DJ Pro?
I have one , way better than the numark dj2go2 I bought.
it works in dj pro... right?
Yeah it does!
Are you able to record a mix
Yes you can record the mix inside of Serato using the Starlight.
Can you use this with djay pro?
What’s a good beginner dj laptop ?
I have a Numark 2go2 and i hate it bc its not jog wheels its a freaking pitch control/search wheel.........I am buying this once i get a better back up table...lol'
It's a great back up piece!
Funciona mejor con virtual DJ
They could have made the jog wheels active while the song play smh on the 2go2 smh
can you put the fader in reverse ?
Yes you can, it's in the Serato DJ Pro preferences.
Can you adjust the fader curve on serato?
Yes you can but you have to access the settings on your Serato software and go into the mixer section and adjust the curve from there.
When is coming Hercules inpulse 300?
It will be coming shortly!
What is the name of program
could this work with intro??
Is it possible to tempo-nudge in vinyl-mode (like ... touching the cogwheels on the side)?
DoktorAndy Yes, you can.
WHAT LAP TOP IS BEST TO USE WITH THE STARLIGHT ?
Any.
Is dell laptop is compatible
One that works
Looks interesting
You really can't go wrong for the price or the size.
AWSOME
IM SOLD.... I have the Dj2Go2 and I’m about to get rid of it seeing this.
I don't understand the obsession with "scratching" on these tiny controllers. I don't see it being done much by professional DJs. Seems weird.
Because scratching is fun and sounds better than this button drops.
People who do these demos.
STOP REPEATING YOURSELVES. Say the point and move on.
