Haha... Yeah, late to this one. To be honest, I wasn't going to bother at first. But so many of my professional DJ buddies and colleagues were using it for doing radio mixes on the road, I had to find out what they were seeing in it.
i use to spin and learn scratching at a basic level many years ago, then i tried to get back into dj'ing i bought the rane one, traktor s4 mk3, traktor s8, numark ns7iii, and a few others... numark nvii, but ended up returning them.. this little guy for it's simplicity and portablity i can honestly say i've used it more frequently than the other ones... mostly because it's simpler, more portable and because i have serato pro can re-map some basic workarounds including library scroll! thanks for the review
This is the best, I bought for $80. The lightning on the bottom is awesome don't mind them at all. They can be turn of in Serato software. Very compact and fits perfect on the laptop over the finger pad. This controller is perfect for a back up too. Which I have it for. I have the Nu-mark Mixpro 3 Main controller to dj with.
I'm thinking of upgrading from my DJ2Go2 to the Starlight, but I was wondering about something. The DJ2Go2's buttons have a bit of "give" to them before they actually click, like you have to push down on them slightly before they hit the threshold to click and activate. Does the Starlight have that same problem?
So with the bass/filter knob...I have the choice to filter instead of bass?? I want the option to use the filter like the regular controllers have. I want to get this as a Xmas for my 11yr old
This really help me with my mix shows when I brought it and it just down to earth mini controller this its a sweet one perfect for my DJ Mix Shows. Keep up the work Funk Up Salute Peace.
Ive had a Starlight for about 1yr now. I just use it when im sat on the sofa and just want to mess around or try something. Wouldnt ever use it at any kind of event though. I will keep that for my Denons.

ciao. ma vi siete accorti quando nel mix da un canale vai al centro si abbassa il notevolmente il volume.. cosa molto brutta!! sapete se si puo rimediare con delle impostazioni?
Question about the volume knobs… are they (in serato) the actual channel volume controls, do literally doing what a fader would do, or are they like gain controls? I ask because I just got a DJ2GO touch and if I have the x-fader in the middle and try using the knobs as channel volume, you can’t get the cued track through headphones until you turn the volume up (so the room would hear it)… Unless it can be mapped differently? But by default that’s how the numark is set up which is kinda weird.

Controller is very good, but minijack connection is very bad. Light touch of the connector leads to noise in the speakers. I try different cables, but problem is inside controller. I very unhappy with it. Anyone have the same trouble?
Has anybody else have their controller's sync and play/pause buttons stop lighting up? I love the Starlight, but the lack of lights during use is annoying. They light up during initial startup, then are dark after that. I can't seem to find a fix online anywhere.
Hi Mojave! Great vid! I just bought the Starlight control, and when I tried to hook it up with my Serato DJ Pro, it only gives me an option to use it on a trial basis. Do I have to buy it again to be able to use the Starlight? I think it would be stupid, since I’ve been using DJ Pro for years. Thanks in advance for the answer.
Currently it does not support rekordbox. You can use it with Traktor pro 2/3, djay pro with midi mapping, natively with virtual dj, serato lite / pro and free to use Djuced software by Hercules.
With the new Serato DJ Lite update, you got finally a sharp cutting distance for the crossfader. It’s incredible to be honest how sharp it is
Many thanks for letting us know!
It was hilarious to watch my buddy play on this tiny thing on a Bluetooth speaker after the police made us shut down our pk sound system
Yeah I had to do this also on that lil numark
Party must on. That's what a wise dj said
Just bought one and I've only played on cdjs and 1200s and this thing works great for house beatmixing
This has been out for a year. Good to know Mojaxx really spends time with gear prior to reviewing it

@@evandavis7 the buttons are clicky (hard plastic, not rubber which i prefer) and activate immediately on pressing.

Does anyone knows how to adjust the bpm range from +8. I haven't been able to adjust it.

Can we get a review of the new Hercules Inpulse 500 ?
Can you use any old plug for the USB or does it have to be a certain one
Controller is very good, but minijack connection is very bad. Light touch of the connector leads to noise in the speakers. I try different cables, but problem is inside controller. I very unhappy with it. Anyone have the same trouble?
I have the controller, no such problems. It's a great controller.
Works on windows laptop and android phone at all?
Has anybody else have their controller's sync and play/pause buttons stop lighting up?
I love the Starlight, but the lack of lights during use is annoying.
They light up during initial startup, then are dark after that.
I can't seem to find a fix online anywhere.
The lighting issues started about a month after I started using the controller, by the way.

On my starlight the bass/filter knob is dead, it won't work and i can't find a troubleshooting guide
Can the tempo pitch variance % be changed in Serato DJ?
Great video !

my right tempo fader stopped working =/
I got this I'm a beginner
Is there an equivalent of this and the DJ2GO2 for Rekordbox? Would be handy for prepping tunes.
For preparing tunes the rekordbox app works great and syncs with the main software.
Andaría con virtual dj?
i have virtual dj will it work with that please help i don't want to switch software but i need a compact controller
Yes, it works with virtual DJ.
Can you use this for a iPad ?

I got this from my producer for free and thats awesome 90 fuckkkg dollars damn I got a deal
crying
So no android but laptop dosent matter?
What are you reviewing next week then haha? 😉
Anyone have any luck connecting a mic??
It does not have a mic input but you can make one work with a pre-amp.
Ayo mo can I get a discount code for djcity store..I need me a hoodie??@djcity
I have Ser DJ Pro License but can't this unit to see it - only the Lite version? Any ideas anyone?
You have to purchase an additional license to use pro. Even if you have an existing pro license, the Starlight needs its own.
