I looooved how she waited for Matt to do his third dislike, then stomped it out saying you CAN put the bed down with the slide in! Damn, looking at the thing upright, I would never have guessed it could be used with the slide in. That is a MASSIVE advantage. There is no guarantee that you will always have enough space to put the slide out at every camping ground you visit. Compared to other Class Bs with murphy beds, for me, this is Airstream's secret wunderwaffe. I would get this if I had to buy this class. Despite Matt not liking the toilet, I love big showers so that just seals the deal. Rivals Winnebago and Thor should be worried...

LOVE the Atlas. They fit so much into a small space and can’t beat Airstream quality. Likes: Murphy bed, dry bath, tv. Dislikes: plastic toilet, kitchen size and lack of 4x4 option. The inability to get 4 wheel drive is the dealbreaker for me, which I believe is actually a limitation of what Mercedes offers on a chassis cab. Aneda did such a great job - very knowledgeable and personable.

    3 things to improve
    1) needs 2000 watt inverter (it's in the Interstate 24X for crying out loud! C'Mon Man!!) gotta run the genny to use the microwave?? C'Mon Man!!
    2) 4 WD if it were even possible (which it isn't)

This is my second time watching a video about this product and Anita's extra knowledge about the driving technology made quite a positive impression that the first video didn't leave. I agree with Matt that the kitchen area is too small. Personally, we don't cook with gas due to health reactions to propane odors, so an option without that installed would add counter space on top for meal prep, and the counter extension and drawers could extend all the way to the back -- that trash bucket is small and unreachable. It's pretty much useless but I appreciate Airstream trying to work it in. Plus, Airstream could provide a Queen size bed running 73" long and 60" wide -- or a Queen Plus at 66" wide (that's what can be done with memory foam mattresses now) since they're providing linens-- and that would give them room to extend the kitchen counter by 6" - 12". Maybe that would drop the weight down due to a slightly smaller slide. I too agree with Anita that the microwave is too high. Also, a suggestion: don't place the kitchen sink so far back from the edge of the counter. It's hard on the back for everyone plus tall people hit their heads against overhead cupboards when trying to reach back to operate the faucet. A sink shouldn't be more than 2" or 3" from the front of a counter. Plus, a plastic toilet is pretty cheap considering how high-end the rest of the rig is.

    • @sandrastevens2793
      @sandrastevens2793 2 роки тому

I like the bed can be used without pulling out slide. That is important. I think another pull out over the edge of couch for kitchen counter or a slide up and over on the out side of sink area could work. I just wish the sleeping area was for two and another area for one or two was included. Less expensive RV"a have this.

While I wish airstream would offer an all electric (no propane, no generator) version, more importantly, I’d be interested in a critical comparison between this model and the comparable LTV. While airstream is more expensive, the shorter wait time is nice, but is it worth it? What say you Matt?

OK Airstream here is how you fix the bathroom. Move the toilet to where the sink is, and make it porcelain. Make the shower full sized. then design a new sink that folds down and is built into the shower or Over the toilet . Far as I know most people don't use the sink and toilet at the same time. OK the sink trap is inside the wall and the drain is out of the middle back of the sink rather than in the middle bottom. Fold down faucet like they have done in boats for years. Not complicated really.

Hi, Matt & Aneda (sp?) 👋👋
I like that they have a slide in this handsome unit. It's the perfect combo between sleek and homey. Most units look very Ikea-ish, which I don't care for.
I don't like radius showers, but they made it look so pretty, I wouldn't mind using it.
Having a plastic toilet in a unit that costs as much as quite a nice house is a fail. (I suppose, though, if you can afford this unit, swapping out for a porcelain toilet isn't an annoyance.)
I like all the storage, both inside and out.
The kitchen is a bit small, but it's still quite useable and the styling of it made it seem cozy rather than cramped. (I love the pantry space.)
I love that you can use the bed with the slide-out in.
I love the TV placement and that it's on a televator.

22 has SLIGHT differences. The house stereo is a completely different setup from 21 to 22. That nice cupboard door for the above driver storage is now sliding tinted plexiglass. Looks a little cheap compared to the 21. It did let them integrate a soundbar above instead of having the 2 circular speakers place into the ceiling but...when we ordered we expected a door and not the plexi BS. It's whatever, small but noticeable differences in 21 vs 22. No one is getting 18 mpg unless they are driving 50 mph. However, I crank 65-75 in this beast and it gets a solid 15.5, which all things considered, is still pretty good for a vehicle like this.
Also, I'm super stoked Frank Black has found a second career selling RV's. ;)

Very nice motorhome, but all of these with the murphy bed on the side have a common problem, which is that the window is covered by the bed when in the stowed position. This doesn't make sense. When the bed is down it's likely night and you'd want privacy, yet that's the only time the the window is visible and useable. A rear murphy bed like the Wonder RL seems to me to be a better configuration.

-Big couch with built-in recliners. Compared to the LTV Unity MB, you almost get the best of both the Leisure Lounge Plus and the Flex Lounge.
-No inside steps to the motorhome.
-Air suspension and upgrades on the chassis are very welcome.
    -Big fridge.
    -3 year warranty.
-Comes with 2 Battle Born Lithium Ion batteries at 100aH each.
-Ducted A/C and also 6'6" interior height, 7' 4.5" width.
    Dislikes:
    -Price.
-Lack of interior colour customization. You get 4 choices but you cannot mix and match.
-Too many electrically-operated components. If one of them fails that will put a damper on the experience.
-No dinette area. Having to use a separate table (unlike the built-in one on the LTVs) is a bit cumbersome and means you need to use part of your storage for that table.
-Only 300 watt solar system. Lithium batteries do charge more efficiently, so maybe not much of a problem, but 300 watts seems a bit low at this price point.
-Looked like there was no secondary option to dump the tanks with gravity. Unfortunate if the macerator fails and you need to find some other way to empty them.
-Although they deleted the latches on the outside compartments, they didn't do the same inside on the cabinets.
    -Plastic toilet.
    -Low OCCC.
    -Small propane tank (9.76 gallons).
    -Small holding tanks (23 g fresh, 31 g gray, 23 g black)
-Lack of options means you cannot opt for lower priced alternatives, and are stuck with potentially high priced options you won't use.

Love this even without the bunker.....love the bath great. ..love the you can use the bed without the slide being out...... I like the position of the kitchen...
But not enough counter space.. no over the cab bunker....other than that I love it....

Does it have a solar setup? At this price point it should with maybe lithium house batteries. 3 way fridge and an induction cooktop would be nice additions. Heated holding tanks? Low cargo capacity is a deal breaker.

For that price you could buy TWO (2) DOS - - Thor Delano’s, or Winnebago Views / Navions, or Tiffin Wayfarers, one for me AND one for my son!

Great job touring this beauty. Gorgeous vehicle. Lots to like but my dislikes would be:
not many ways to see outside like some vans. Small kitchen set up. And price tag. Ouch!!

That's the nicest B+ I've ever seen! I need one of those front airdams for my Entegra Qwest! The price though is around the same as the Super C Thor Omni that you recently reviewed. Great job!!

Here's my dislike....the PRICE! I can think of many other units for a quarter-MILL that I'd buy over this unit. I mean...for $250K...plastic toilets, propane cooktop (should be induction), cheap faucet fixtures, etc. Over all though it's a nice unit.

Agree! An induction cooktop would be safer and if installed under the counter giving more space a coffee maker.

At the MSRP of $260,000 the Atlas exterior skin should be a bonded sandwich of Carbon Fiber, blue block foam, carbon fiber, Azdel Interior Finish board.

Dislikes: 1. Cargo Carrying Capacity less than 1000 lbs? Two people plus fresh water and you have only 500 lbs or less? Bathroom/kitchen layout: I think you could remove the bathroom sink altogether to move the toilet and provide a bigger shower, and then rearrange the kitchen. 3. Is there a LP quick connect? If not, then add one.
Likes: 1. Sleek look, 2. Storage if you can actually carry stuff with more capacity, really like not having to crawl under slide out, 3. Wet bay and hookups arrangement.

Didn't show it in the video, but I wonder if the couch can drop down with the slide in? That would be nice for those times when you can't open the slide, but would still like to get some sleep.

Good catch by Andrea on the microwave - it is placed too high.
A hot liquid that spills as removed is a potentially dangerous situation.

The outside storage doors would be better if they opened outward instead of upward. It is very hard for old people like me to bend and get under the door.

Matt love this Air Stream B+. My dislikes are the toilet not being porcelain and the microwave being to high up. Other than that I love it. Big fan of Air Stream. That young woman she knows her Air Streams. She’s good. Thank you Matt and thank the young woman that showed this B+ with you for me.

I would love Airstream to find a way to not only keep the murphy bed but be able to use the sofa when jackknifed. I would also like a 3rd seat belt for the middle section of the sofa.
    Dislikes:
    The plastic toilet is unacceptable!
    The CCC is very low.
The controls for the air ride should be integrated into the dash.
    Likes:
    The floorplan overall
    The color options
    The exterior storage and steps.
Thanks, Matt for another great video!
