Between 1961 and 1968, Lenny Breau played hundreds of sessions on CBC Winnipeg TV and Radio as a studio musician backing featured performers. As his reputation as a guitarist grew, he frequently performed a solo tune or two on-camera on many of these shows. This was the case on the 13th of September, 1965 airing of the CBC TV show "Denyse" hosted by French singer, Denyse Angier.
On this show, Lenny backed Denyse's vocals on solo guitar and as part of the orchestra. Then, mid-way through the program, he was featured on camera playing "Girl From Ipanema" with bass and drum backing.
The trio followed this with an off-camera performance of a jazz/blues piece that Lenny often played with his regular trio. (The identities of the bassist and drummer performing with Lenny on 'Denyse' are unknown.)
