    The level of engineering that Honda pulled from mid- late eighties to early nineties was pretty much unmatched. Those of us that owned a Honda from those years can testify to this. Finding an unmolested, bone stock bike like that, with stock exhausts, indicators, etc., is even more astonishing. Thanks for the video!

    Have owned and ridden many many bikes since I was about 10 years old...Only one bike I still cry over and that was my pearl white VFR 750. Put about 150k miles in it before I crashed it. In my opinion the best bike ever built. The day Honda brings back the VFR, I am buying! It is said, no matter the price you pay for a VFR, it is worth twice as much.

    Why am I not surprised :) It is a Honda after all..I've had 4 VFRs so far, they were all excellent, the last one i sold with 232 000KMs..
    That is what KTM and Ducati can only dream about..

      Currently at 45k mi on my rc24, has started making some top end noise, but I know it'll still happily keep kicking to 100k lol

    I recently added a 1991 VFR750 RC36 to my small collection.. It’s white, 14k miles, and all original..including stand fairing, exhaust and seat cowl.
    Never owned one before.. the closest I ever got was owning a VF400F way back in 1990..
    Honda VFR’s are built different.. compared to my other bikes, everything feels quality

    Lot of budget went into developing/engineering that era of VFR to erase the embarrassment of the earlier chain driven cam VF 750s eating their cam lobes. The result is a wonderful testament to 80's Honda engineering.

    I've had a few bikes, they have one thing in-common all Honda's. It might sound boring but they jusr work, and if i'm covering any sort of distance its always reassuring it will make it back.

      @CharredSteak Likewise...Started on CD 200, MTX 50cc...around 1986/7 Those bikes got thrashed, then was handed over to my younger brother, who thrashed them, then used for University transport, first jobs etc. Crashed them, slid them, revved them, rode pillion on them...They just never quit. Sold them in running condition 20 years later. Honda VFR 750 (best bike ever built) did 240 000 km before crashed. Same with all my Hondas over the years. And they are not boring. You get to love your Hondas, they make lasting memories. Currently on a Honda and my next bike will be a Honda.

    As you say, a testament to the engineering of the VFR. Honda splashed a lot of cash on the VFR: the old saying was "whatever you paid for it , it was worth twice that". I've still got a late 750 I bought 23 years ago.

    I've always been fond of the HONDA VFR750, right from the beginning. I remember reading eagerly the first test in 'Motorrijder'. Love at first sight, it was, especially the blonde one - white. ;-) Now, as a 56-year old, I've got my own 1996 in black - my preference changed from blonde to black meantime. I live not so far away from Leuven, where this neglected beauty has been stading on a pedestal outside Moto OUlet for so many years. I was thinking of asking wether it was for sale, or not, but you got to it first. Congratulations. Hope to see it live again, and be ridden.

    for every honda-lovers...the bike worked after 7 years after being in the exterior not because it's a honda...it's because technology of the 80's is flawless...so Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha from this decade are pretty much the same.

    • @leuvenlife
      @leuvenlife 2 дні тому

    "Bike was standing outside during 7 years, with wind, rain, snow, cold...but it started easy-peasy with no carbs cleaning, nothing, but a screwdriver as key".
    Yeah. I 'm not buying that.

    • @leuvenlife
      @leuvenlife 3 місяці тому

      You don't need to buy it. But it is the truth, we put a battery on it, brake cleaner in the carbs, and she fired up. Then some fuel with 2 stroke, and she stayed running. She did keep leaking from one carb but even that cleared up after a while. It was a really pleasing bike to work on because it all just did what it was supposed to do. It is all in working order now. As I know the previous owner, I asked the history. It was serviced before it was put on the plinth, and it was only put on the plinth as the owner had more bikes than he had space for. Strange, but true.
