    Is it sad that listening to two dad's and a 30 year old man who watches anime is the highlight of my week?

    I just realized that lewis would be a really good late night host: he asks really good questions, he has great insight into the answers, he's funny in a sense like one of those hosts and his laugh is really addictive. i've always thought that one of the original factors that made the yogscast famous (been watching for about 7 years now) was lewis & simon's chemistry that mostly consisted of simon making jokes and lewis' addictive laugh that made everyone watching laugh too (even at some of simon's jokes that could be stupid as all fuck).... anyways, maybe it's just me. but i hope he sees this.

    48:40 The Alexa part was quite funny.. but also a bit scary.
    Kids getting somewhat emotionally attached to a synthetized voice, which belongs to an useful BUT always-listening company-controlled privacy-breaking program..
    There's some dark scifi plot right there.

    Between the talk of Alexa and that red box in the Bodega story, this episode really made me think of one episode in the show Black Mirror where they take part of your brain and create a digital personal assistant for you. They condition it to listen to you by simulating huge amounts of time... basically decades or centuries of empty space as far as the AI is concerned, but in reality it's only a few min.

  • @sausig773
    @sausig773 7 років тому +15

    god this episode is a nostalgia trip. Me and three friends once played the old-style mode on COD MW2 but where one person used a knife and had to constantly jump, whereas everyone else ran away from them. It was tiny map with containers and it was so fun! We spent hours on that stupid mini-game we made XD
    Strange that I've mentioned this in so many comment sections recently, but Minecraft while I was 12-16 was so fucking good. We used to go on this specific server (and when I say us, there were about 15 of us who went on the server sometimes) We would fuck with each other's houses, and it was an open server so there were all these characters. We just used to like finding people on the server and messing with them. Trying to work our way up this hierarchy of moderators and admins. It was such a dumb experience but so fun and awesome. The server is gone now as well :(

    • @CrillerVids
      @CrillerVids 7 років тому +4

      simeon graham ahh your story makes me remember my time playing at yogscast's minecraft server. From what I remember it was also completely free for all, and it was great! My best memory from that server was when I gathered a few friends with which I travelled extremely far out on map. The server was very popular, so there were houses all the way out. As soon as we found empty land, we settled and built our own mini-society. We built a wall around the whole thing and called it Knirkwall if I remember correctly. Man that server was fun as heck. Nothing was safe either, anyone could come and destroy your house. In the end, someone who built his home within the confines of our wall destroyed all our buildings. I think minecraft without any mods and just a lot of players is actually really great. No one cares about this most likely, but your comment reminded me of a really fun time i'd had. So thanks for that!

    • @sausig773
      @sausig773 7 років тому +1

      man it's such a good game to make your own. the server we played on was a skyblock server but the only mods we had were ones to keep the server in check and also a mod for a shop at spawn to buy items and blocks you couldn't generate (like trees or a stone generator). it was so hard to slog through and get building materials that looked nice other than stone. As a result that was more of an impact when you saw a guy who had a brick house and so on. It created artificial scarcity and a sort of hardcore community. meanwhile we were a bunch of teens prattling around. it was great, and I'm glad to hear other people have experiences like that :)

Presently I'm writing the definitive work on the subject, so I want you to be totally honest with me on how the machine makes you feel. This being our first try, I'll use the lowest setting. "
