When Cher recorded this album she said it was the best vocals she had ever done. But years later she said the whole album was total crap and that she barely remembers recording it. Seems like everybody on the planet is capable of recognizing when Cher does good work - except Cher herself!
I wonder if she meant that about the US version of the album. I can’t see how she would hate the UK version of it. I personally do not like the US r&b-esque version, not because I don’t love r&b, but because it sounds so forced.
Cher's voice has never been better than this album - and this song is her best from it.

This is my favorite Cher album. Her vocals are so on point.
