I remember the Odeon well, also the Empire (music Hall) which was on the same road(?), ABC (Elite) and the Marlborough which was somewhere behind where the bus station is now. The Gaumont had been demolished a good while before. I was also sad when the old Corn exchange got knocked down to make way for the road. It's sad iconic buildings like these are allowed to decay, replaced by soul-less piles: Can't imagine many modern buildings finding a similar place in peoples' affections in time. R.
