You are switching between the equipments and the shooting setting. I was more interested to learn about the equipments I need for vlogging, and that's what I thought the video was for. I enjoyed the video overall
Pete, I switch between the a73 and the a7R3 depending on what I'm doing, Joby and Rode Pro+ the same, I'm using the kit lens 28-70 which is really dark and not so great on quality but I've ordered the 16-35 f2.8 so I'm interested how that will turn out without the oss, I did a few tests and seemed ok with the ibs. I stick with 4k and downsample to 1080p for UA-cam, gives me that extra little space just in case I need to cut something, somebody, stabilise footage etc. Great film, keep on going!
Yeah, the a7III is better in low light. But i feel it's more convenient for me to have a "all in one" camera. I personally think shooting without OSS is making a huge difference on the smoothness when vlogging. But i guess it's a matter of taste!

Looks like this question is highly requested, but yeah, I think we need a video just to discuss the audio setup for indoor vs outdoor etc. Like Peter McKinnon is on a boat or in the street, it’s windy and.... not a scratch of audio....

1080p sped up my work flow and no one has mentioned that I'm not using 4K anymore. Check your analytics, a lot of views come from mobile devices. Great vid.
Yeah i'm thinking that i'll only shoot my Timelapses and tutorials in 4K, the vlogs seem a bit overkill in that resolution... Thanks for the Feedback man, and thanks for watching!
We just started our family channel like 9 months ago, and We use a Gopro Hero 5 and a Rode Video Micro at the moment. But we would love to upgrade our setup to something like this 😃👌

watching on MacBook Pro 1080p is just fine for your vlogs I sometimes can't tell the res if higher than 1080

Well, i basically have it at Auto ISO when i vlog and then use a variable ND filter. I almost always look the shot before recording too so that kinda helps. Really should pick up my vlogs again soon!

PLVLOG oh fair enough. That's probably how I would do it. What do you lock your ISO at?? 6400?? Or do you let it go higher
@@ThatModernDude Works really good actually! I keep it capped at 12800 since the sensors are still really good at those ISO levels in my opinion!
@@PeterLindgren1 Just a thought: wouldn't it be better to keep it on Aperture priority and let the shutter speed determine the exposure, that way you can keep the ISO at minimum to reduce noise.

I have a Sony A6100 with a 16mm 1.4 sigma, the nanoleaf hexagons in my background causes a lot of flickering as well, shooting at 1080p 60fps, not sure how to get ride of flickering. living in switzerland. thanks for any inputs :)

Hi can I know about your lighting. I mean the setup and what is the brightness percentage you use. Coz when i use my key light at 100% it lights up my background as well so the ambient light is not visible. Thanks
I think 4k is a nice feature but not really worth it for daily use - I think for product or really cinematic shots it's a different story. So I think most people wouldn't even notice the difference most of the time (myself included) so if it would make your life easier, just switch to 1080p :D
You have a point Moritz! I think that 4K looks so damn good but it's essentially still just a gimmick since everyone just uses their phone.

I just got a a6600 for vlogging and to have as my main camera. Whats ur thoughts about it? :)
What do you do about a monitor/playback screen when filming? This is my main issue as i have to go back and refilm several times not being able to see video if in focus, comp, etc

I used to shoot my vlogs with s-log but I find it a bit annoying having to make sure my exposure is correct in every shot and sometimes I forget to fix my exposure while I'm vlogging. Det händer ju inte allt för ofta att man stöter på en svensk här :-) Jag kör just nu med Canon EOS R, men har tidigare haft a7 iii samt a7r ii för video och en drös andra hus för foto. Jag gillar R med flippskärmen, men saknar A7 iii och dess slowmotion så pass mycket att jag funderar på att byta min EOS R mot just en a7 iii igen. De jag dock gillar mer med canon är touch focus i videoläge. Jag fick aldrig det att fungera som jag ville med a7 iii:an. Jag filmar mest familjevloggar och då jag har 6 barn vill jag enkelt kunna skifta fokus dit jag vill, vilket är så mycket enklare med canons dual pixel AF.
Nej, det är inte svenskar i överflöd på denna kanalen. Än! EOS R verkar vara en fin liten sak men det är tyvärr mycket som saknas i den än så länge kan jag tycka.
Ja, A7III är en extremet kapabel kamera om man ser till både pris och funktioner. Jag gillar min nåt enormt!

@@PeterLindgren1 De kanske fungerar, men inte på ett så smidigt sätt som det gör på Canon, eller så var det helt enkelt jag som aldrig orkade sätta mig in i det riktigt. Det är absolut ingen omöjlighet :-) Har kikat endel av dina videos nu, gillar stilen skarpt, märks att du vet vad du håller på med. Why do you have to reformat your card when you switch from 120fps??
PAL and NTC or whatever The name is.. But you only have to do it once or every time you switch from 100fps to 120fps
Hi, I'm starting up with cooking channel and I have some problem with setup of Rode Video Mic NTG on Sony A7 II. Normally, I'm put the Camera sensitive is 2 and on Mic is 5 but still catching some noise from environment. I already apply low cut 75 hz. Do you have any idea with this issue?

Awesome! Well yes it's gonna be in the way if you want to use the EVF. but personally i never use the EVF when shooting video though. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for replying and confirming my worries. Frankly, I haven’t done any filming yet, more than playing around a bit. Guess you’re right that the EVF is not really useful when filming. An external monitor is probably better, if anything is needed at all. Anyway, that settles it. I’ll get myself a Røde. Tack för en trevlig och informativ kanal!

enjoying your content man! +sub. :) I have the A7iii and I tried many of the sony lens, including the 16-35 F4. I think it's a great vlogging lens. But for me, I got the tamron 28-75 F2.8, and then proceeded to pretty much sell all my other lenses (24-70 GM, 16-35, 85, 28 F2. etc.). It's small, light, versatile and works great on a gimbal too. You should check it out. I have one test video on my channel (its actually the only vid lol), you can see the quality. Cheers! :)
