    Bought this mattress as an emergency bed for guest or while travelling and sleeping in my car. It sat most of the year however early this winter I had a sports injury which forced me to stop sleeping on my cushy bed and migrate to the ground on Milliard's. The best decision I ever made as I have not returned to sleeping on the bed. No neck pain, back issues etc. Wonderful investment.

      I am hyper-sensitive to odors, I bought a similar type of expanding mattress and the chemicals were sickening even after 30 days of airing it out I couldn't sleep on it, does this mattress have a strong sickening odor that you noticed 🤔 please give an honest opinion 👍 thank you

      @@terrace1 Given you stated that you are hypersensitive to chemicals and odors, I am unable to provide you with an authentic review as I do not suffer from the condition. Personally I had no issues with either of those, good luck!!

    I have one and I`m heavy: 5'8" @ 280lbs so due to my fattness its not quite as firm as I`d like but it gets the job done ok.
    I was very impressed with the cutting tool they sent for cutting the packaging plastic off it without cutting the mat, nice!
    I bought the bag for it and its slightly larger than the mattress so it packs up EASY.
    The quality of the stitching is great and overall the shape is a perfect rectangle with no peaks and valleys. Perfectly flat.
    For 150 (give or take a few dollars) its a great buy and I`ll be looking into more Milliard mats in the future hoping they make a higher density style thats really FIRM.

    ❤ You x-rayed it so well: and not just being brutally honest but cruelly honest, ripping it up to the core for its pros and cons. Thank you for an excellent review. 😊
    A quick question. How heavy is it, and without handles, is it manageable enough to move it around within a single-floor apartment? I am in the late 70s, hence concerned.

    Great review and thanks for cutting it open so we could see inside. I purchased the 4" single version and Amazon listed the foam as 'Gel Memory Foam'. I think this is incorrect and the foam is actually 4"'s of High Density Poly Foam. Not sure if I'm going to return it as I thought I was buying a memory foam mattress.

    How would you recommend using this mattress on a carpet that may get quite wet? Would the plastic cover it comes with be enough? Maybe a tarp or some sort of small, storable plastic frame?

    • @jungleriver
      @jungleriver  7 місяців тому

      I guess some sort of plastic would be good but if it’s moist under there you need to be concerned with mold growth.

      On the milliard website it states no fiber glass is used. I'm sure alot of companies post these things to destroy reputations and get business. Unless you see a youtuber bust one open I'd say it's safe.

    Has anyone found a tri-fold without any memory foam, but instead, 100% high-density foam or a combo of high-density with low-density (top)? I think that will last longer and not sag.

    Would you say this provides a firm experience? I'm currently on a 4-in tri-fold from a different company, and I'd hate to move to a 6-in that feels like soft mush because I wanted a wider bed.

    • @jungleriver
      @jungleriver  Рік тому +2

      Firmness is likely a subjective thing but I like this tri-fold mattress. I'd say it's a good firm.

    • @genkiferal7178
      @genkiferal7178 Рік тому +2

      @@jungleriver it need not be subjective, because there are very clear industry ratings.
      Here is some copy&paste:
      Foam Density Measurements measured in pounds per cubic foot (PCF).
      or
      Lux High Quality Foam is a high quality foam suggested for seats, chairs, cushions, benches, and mattresses. Foam has a typical life of 16 years. (2.8LB /ft3 density with a 50LB ILD)
      the Lux High Quality Foam is the highest density I could find, so I bought it in a 6" thick mattress. It would've been better if I'd bought 3" of it and then a plush 3" topper of foam, cotton, or a down alternative.
      Most of these mattress companies aren't willing to risk too much truth in the type of foams they use, so it gets confusing and many people will buy the wrong thing.
      I can vouch for a well-treated high-density foam cushion or mattress lasting about 20 to 25 years - that means using covers, padding, airing it out, making sure covers and padding are washed often enough.
      The mattress in the video has gotten excellent reviews, but most are only after using it less than a month. One thorough woman said her began to sag after nightly use of 6 months or so and that is why I'd love to know exactly the densities of foam used...and am not finding it on 90% of ads.

    • @jungleriver
      @jungleriver  Місяць тому +1

      I think all mattresses are required to have some sort of fire retardant protection in them. I’m not exactly sure what they use but I would think it is designed that the outer cover would hold any particles in (if there even would be a chance that any could escape). It is a nice mattress and easy to store.
