OK, I know it makes a lots of Joe Pass.... but everyone love him and to me there is 2 Joe Pass.... there's Joe Pass the 'virtuoso' and Joe Pass the 'bopper', I don't want to neglect any of the Joes. As much as I like Joe the virtuoso, Joe the 'bopper' in a trio setting is what makes me want to practice guitar everyday! I love him in trio because he can have the control over harmony. With a pianist, It always sound too busy for me and he will rarely include chord solos. And without the drum, there is something missing and it end up sounding like a rehearsal... I'm looking at you 'Chops'... (I might get some hate for this comment but don't worry I love 'Chops'). I always loved Serenata, the melody is beautiful. It seems to be a perfect vehicule for Joe's soloing. The solo is some classic Joe Pass, you've already heard most of these lines but as a good 'bopper' it's how he's chaining his ideas that makes the magic. I think what impress me the most is his horizontal game. when he gets to the higher notes and shift position or just go horizontal with octave.... man it's some serious precision. I always messed up these passage when practicing. Don't fall in the trap of playing these in 'position' higher on the neck, you will end up with some complicate & awkward positions and that's not how Joe Pass does. He always keep thing simple... simple voicing simple positions... etc. Have fun!
The ultimate class..wjhat a genius.Everything i so clear, the timing , the phrasing, choice of notes, development .The perfect guy to understand be bop guitar in my opinion .
Congratulations on a great channel. Not only are the transcriptions such good quality but the choice of pieces has pointed me in the direction of some great recordings I'd not heard before. My only request would be to have the page turns on the videos fractionally ahead of the music, as its pretty much impossible to sight read if they are precisely in time with it.
Your transcriptions are fantastic, thank you! Can I make a request? It would be nice to play "Pernambuco" by Luis Bonfá. Such a beautiful song and there isn''t any tabs on yt

A very nice piece, to listen to as well as to study. Thank you.
Merci beaucoup pour tes transcriptions! J'ai pu apprendre Night & Day et j'en ai appris beaucoup sur les voicings, surtout les drops 2. Thanks again!

I hope you do Earl Klughs version of this tune at some point from naked guitar
Man he was so hot on this take!
Please do transcription for Just the two of us
Thought you'd never post more Joe. Can we expect another soon? Perhaps one of his blues tunes?
