    I seen your video and after a while I couldn't find it to give a thumbs up. I have the isuzu nqr, when I went there the seller was telling me I couldn't leave the lot without a box because it is considered an unfinished truck smh. Then he said it would take months for them to make a box, long story short I was able to get it without the box... I'm going to change everything and make a camper for it. Going to be putting the videos up it just takes time... I went for the crew cab though, I can't wait to build this truck up and see what it looks like, thank you!

    I’ve got a 2004 fuse fg short wheelbase with flatbed and hallmark camper . Good info on winch, installing chains is an art form.

    If you have an open front differential, a torque bias (Torsen style) front differential could be something worth looking into. With the front wheels locked in, whenever you are in 4x4 mode then your front end with a torque bias differential fitted, makes for phenomenal front axle traction. Extremely good in sand, so far very good in mud and no idea about snow.
    While a fully locking differential is the ultimate in recovery or for rock crawling type of terrain, it is only being used at very low speeds. When travelling on very loose surfaces a torque bias front differential is working at any speed you travel at and is always on if you select 4x4. Extremely sure steering ability and surefootedness from the front end is what we have. NPS 300 in Australia.

      Thanks for this info! That could be a huge upgrade for us. Having more front end traction would be great!

    Hi from Australia! I just purchased a 1996 FG63 Canter 4x4, they are very popular with the rural fire service here! Mine came with everything but the lights and sirens! It did not see many fires as for a 26 year old truck it only has 15000klms or 9000 miles! Great off road truck but as you say rough ride I will deal with the suspension next! I am building the truck as a mother ship all power set ups water and fuel I towing an off road caravan behind! Australia has some strict rules on weights and combinations! I am going gold detecting deep into the Outback so I need a strong reliable vehicle and this truck has that in spades solid build only computer is the clock in the radio! Just found your channel will be looking forward through your journey you have a great start! Thanks

      Hey, thanks for reaching out! We've been inspired by all the awesome things folks in Australia do with their Canters. These trucks really are amazing, and go forever. Sounds like you found yourself a gem! Cool to hear about your base-camp for gold exploration, best of luck! Cheers!

      @@HD.Adventuring No worries, good time to add other cabling and lines for power, lights and loads like a trailer needs. Don't forget plumbing & water storage as well as extra batteries moved to rear to help with weight redistribution. Try to keep front axel loads down if possible.

    Where did you buy the truck? I really like these cab over trucks. I see that Mitsubishi discontinued the Fuso in the USA, but the Isuzu NPR is an option, but an older diesel Fuso crew cab is appealing

    • @HD.Adventuring
      @HD.Adventuring  Рік тому +1

      We flew to Oregon to pick it up! There aren’t a ton of these trucks around, and many of them got put into plow duty. But they do exist! NPRs are great too, but not 4x4 from the factory, although there are some shops that will up fit them!

    • @woolengrappler
      @woolengrappler Рік тому +1

      @@HD.Adventuring yes and I also see that the Fuso 4x4 is only available in a single cab. So far I’ve seen the NPR converted to 4x4 by Earthcruiser, Acela and Ridgerock.
      I love the space saving and turning radius and payload of these trucks compared to the American HD trucks. I’m currently comparing RAM 3500 short bed with an Isuzu NPR 150” wheel base and the dimensions are within inches, but the Isuzu has double the payload with basically the same footprint with a better trining radius. Of course the RAM has better interior amenities and confronts.

    • @HD.Adventuring
      @HD.Adventuring  Рік тому +1

      @@woolengrappler totally, single cab only, which gives a lot of room for a box, but not people(or dogs😀). I’ve heard great things about the NPR too- lot more power than the Fuso. But still not as much power as a 3500. One other thing to consider is fuel compatibility if you have any plans to head to South America or other similar spots. Modern diesels don’t like the high sulfur content!

    • @woolengrappler
      @woolengrappler Рік тому

      @@HD.Adventuring I’ve got a family of 4 so unfortunately crew cab is the only choice for me. Leaning towards a crew cab gas NPR with the 4x4 conversion and shorter 150” wheel base which allows for a 12’ total composites box. If we went with a flat bed cab over truck camper on the RAM the total length of the camper including the cab over portion is about 12’ but you lose all the space under the cab over and the NPR has more real estate underneath for mounting water tanks and side boxes for extra storage.
      Excited to see your build progress!
