Thanks man. Unplugging the USB cable and restarting device did it for me. I got a screen saying we cant detect your TV remote and essentially got all these tips like you gave us. Pressed home button for 10 seconds and voila - works now. Thanks a lot man

Doing a combination of these things it worked!! Unplugged fire stick, took out batteries, pressed home button and all 3 buttons. Back in business! Thank youuu!!
Thank you! I watched maybe 8 different videos and none worked. What did work was to remove batteries from remote and pull fire stick power cord both for 60 seconds, then holding down left, backspace and menu for 30 seconds. It finally worked! Thank you, it's been months of using stock TV remotes

We never have any problem with our one year old Amazon 4k fire tv stick until yesterday after power failure. We could not get the usual menu as only the words "fire tv" on our TV screen. Then we unplugged the fire tv stick power point which is connected to our TV for one minute after watching this video; it works immediately after replugging the power point. Thanks a lot fyi.

Thanks much, the 60 sec thing seemed to help. Still couldnt get the home screen to work but could go to settings and asked "alexa" show me the home screen which worked and remote works as normal. Several other demos I tried did nothing for me.,, thanks again. Good thing I saw yours as I was getting ready to order a new remote,, whew!

Those steps didn't work for me. But a message popped up on my t.v. saying that no remote was detected and to try the home button for 10 secs, get new batteries or Press the menu, back and power buttons simultaneously for 10 secs to reset. The latter worked for me instantly 😊. Hey could have been a combination of everything because I was trying everything 😂

I watched this and one time step worked by disconnecting and holding home button but pushed a few times hard on the home button then it turn yellow blinking I held till it stopped blinking and wow tv remote showed it was connected again Amen your video is amazingly perfect and wonderful steps
Since I did the three hold thing I keep getting errors when trying to play movies, tv shows, UA-cam literally nothing works. All I wanted was to be able to use my volume on my remote but now you made it worse and now doesn’t work. Make videos that work and aren’t clickbate
My batteries are heating up so much you can't hold them. Remote was working fine and has suddenly died I do have the otg cable and the exact keyboard I'll try that.
If you are not using the correct cord and power head your firestick will not boot up. They take more power than charging a phone. I learned this on vacation this week. But this video did help connect the remote.
For ANYONE having trouble with the fire remote not connecting and after having tried everything to fix it! Only for it to STILL not work! All you need to do is connect the firestick to a Smart TV! Use the actual TV Remote to navigate thru the Firesticks menu. Erase the remote and re - pair it. If you don't have a Smart TV take it to a friend's house or someone you know that has a smart tv! And yes I've tried every single method advised by amazon tech support and on youtube, some remotes just did not pair until i did the smart tv remote trick!
