What if this is the first time I plugged it in but also it was signed into my ex Amazon account what can I do then

Guys take some vinegar and clean the batter terminals and let it dry! Put the batteries back and should work
@@jenkin1151yea mine just stopped working also and I’ve tried everything and nothing works. It’s not even that old and never dropped nothing just stopped working. None of these videos works at all, frustrated beyond

Thanks so much! I had to do this a few times but it did work. I unplugged the firestick from the back of the tv but didn't disconnect the power going to the firestick...and it didn't work. BUT...When I did disconnect the power going to the firestick with the firestick also unplugged from the TV, , and did the steps you outlined, it finally worked. CHEERS!!!

I have 2 remotes on mu 2nd Gen FireTV Cube. It was simple to add the 2nd one but it doesn't control the volume on my Surround sytem or turn the system into n and off like to original one does. It's and exact match. Before I mess it up do I need to set the equipment up again? If I do will the original still work everything?

I changed the battery and unplugged all power to tv and remote and now it is updating. hopefully that will help.

@@DocSquiffy thank you I have an older Toshiba and the power remote on fire stick when going through the steps does not connect and gets a not compatible so maybe it’s to old , should I then try a remote to pair for tv for powering on and off and for volume as the two functions are not sinking with tv , thanks

Why is it becoming common issue with new remotes not pairing , bought it brand new sent it back twice for replacements having spent 4-5 hours doing everything and nothing worked . I’m currently using my phone which I hate

You're not the only one because mines are not working either and that is with 2 fire sticks remotes 😏 I did all the steps that he's saying in the video but still not connecting 😏
Update: I have opened it, cleaned every part (removing dust and clearing battery connections), and now it works.
I used a slightly different version and it worked! See below:
Check the batteries: Make sure the batteries are fresh.
Reset the remote: Try these steps:
Press and hold the Left and Menu buttons at the same time for 12 seconds.
Release the buttons and wait 5 seconds.
Remove the batteries from the remote.
Plug in your Fire TV and wait for the screen that says the remote can't be detected.
Put the batteries back in the remote.
Press the Home button on the remote.
Finally! It works! Thank you
Hi I have a fire stick that was never registered that some gave it came without a remote I got remote but I don't no how to program this remote I'm pushing the home button but it's not connecting what can I do thanks

I had a remote that stopped working today. Changed batteries and nothing worked. This video then popped up on my phone. (How strange) followed your video. Restarted firestick, then put batteries in remote. I then pressed a button on remote to confirm still nothing but wow it worked. I did not have to go through the home button holding section. Thank you very very much. Saved me going to buy another remote. I do have one that done the same a while ago and I replaced the remote. Will try resetting it tomorrow to see if I brought a remote for no reason. But thanks

Wish i would have found this to try before just repeating the steps over and over. Ginally gave up and did a whole tv reset and tv now is stuck on choose language screen because still not paired 😢
