    Service manual says to apply 3 Bond to the entire surface of all 4 of those rounded cam sections, not just a little dab in the corners.

    Did you need to jack up the engine at all for the driver's side cover removal? I'm having a bear of a time even with the battery removed, on a 2011 OB Ej253...

    U said at the end it’s a 2.5 outback. But u list it as an Impreza 2.0L?

    • @agermats
      @agermats 10 місяців тому +1

      I think it should be 2.0L for Impreza.

    Why did you use RTV? It hardens the rubber gasket and prevents it from doing it's job.

      per the maintenance manual, you need to use sealant on those spots, but i'd like to know which sealant/liquid gasket he used.

      @@maxs1700 you should be able to use any solid RTV. I typically use Permatex Gray, it instructs a 24hr fully cured time. You can also use Permatex The Right Stuff Gray, which is a 90 minute RTV if you're pressed for time.

      Any oil resistant gasket sealer will work. I'm guessing he used Permatex, but I'm not sure.
      You have to add a little dab at any sharp transition point to help out the gasket or it'll leak from those areas.
