For carbon arrows, Easton Carbon Legacy are 34" long and offered in 700 spine, which should be what you would need. www.3riversarchery.com/easton-carbon-legacy-arrows.html

Are wood arrows good for hunting (60# recerve bow)?

I currently have like 30 wood arrows, cheap ones from Walmart and Academy. They're the same ones, just the fletchings are different: the ones from Walmart have 2 red and 1 yellow, whereas the ones from Academy have 2 yellow and 1 red. And they're plastic vein, not feather.
I shoot them with my longbow and they fly fine from what I can tell, but I'm wanting to get some feather fletchings so I can see how they are by comparison.
Though the question is, should I get some feather fletchings to replace the plastic veins on mine, or would it be easier to get new wood arrows with feather fletchings on them?

I am having a very hard time finding wooden shafts to match to my 70lb horsebow, my drawlength is 32 inch so i need a 33 inch shaft. I also use the tophat inserts and the lightest broadheads i have acces to are 150grain. This all ads up to a pretty serious spine, over 100lb spine (arrows are measured at 26").
    what wood would i need?

I'm afraid I do not know any place you can get spined wood arrow shafting in longer than 32" length. We do have war bow shafting, but it is not spined to give you the best performance. www.3riversarchery.com/ash-war-bow-arrow-shaft.html

There can be a lot that goes into this. We have our online charts here: www.3riversarchery.com/pdf/ArrowCharts.pdf or if you could email us with your draw length we can help you choose. Yes, we ship to Australia.

What does 45-50# spine and all of that mean?

It is a reference of what bow weight to shoot them from (as matching the bow's force to the arrow's bend). It is based on a 28" draw and 125 grain point though. So not an "entirely accurate" relation, but works for a starting point.

Wooden shafts with tight grain or multiple growth rings , are selected for these properties. Trees do not grow that way, just some trees do.
Many trees will have large growth rings and uneven grain, depending upon environmental conditions. This man was merely describing the shafts that were already manufactured for arrows.
