Teal, I have to say your videos I have watched over the last year have not only been enjoyable but interesting and informative. You have managed to marry an amazingly talented wife and raised a beautiful young lady. It will be a sad day for you and your wife when she goes off to pursue her own dreams. She is one of the most level headed kid I have seen on UA-cam. I really doubt their is anything negative to say about her. She is mature, responsible, helpful, respectful, and so much more. When I said beautiful earlier, I didn't mean looks either. A fool can see that. I mean her heart. I wish you and your family only the best in your travels, and I shall keep watching.
Thanks for saying that and you are right. I am pretty lucky. Linh and I hit the jackpot in the daughter department. She has always been exactly how you described her and we will be sad to see her leave the nest in a few years, but we are also excited for her. Cheers my friend.
Hello crew. Wow, the meals on that boat are fornom, nom, nomanal😂haha. That chunk of meat looked real good Mmm. Keep up the good work 👍. SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand 👍🏿
Mouthwatering meals ! I would still encourage the master chef to create a cruising cookbook. Maybe the title could be "Onboard Lifestyle - Recipes for Cruising"
The anchorage looks amazing guys and the architecture is for alot of picture taking just like the dishes you prepare Linh absolutely scrumptious you'll be a excellent cook yourself Emma maybe 5 stars too with tips from your mom really sorry about the fishing Teal as your luck with fishing is like mind with scratch off tickets but glad to see that your move south is going as planned let's hope the hurricanes don't cross the peninsula till the season is over be careful and stay safe my friends God love ❤ya all
6:00 Honeymooned there in 1987, boy, the place sure built up. The movie 10 where Bo Derek comes up the beach was filmed there. At 7:52, those are the namesake. Hadas translates to "fairies". The resort started as a vacation home a South American tin magnate built for his bride, then expanded over the years into the finest resort in Mexico. You may have missed the best part, the pool with suspension bridge, where the waters balance huge trays of pineapple shell drinks in spite of the sway. Swim up bar too. In town, if it's still there, is the "bar social", a local watering hole the locals hang out at during siesta. The resort was/is available, for a small fee, to cruisers and others for day use too. We went back there as part of a cruise ship vacation a few years ago.
@10:30 Teal asks Compass if he is "ready for dinner" my pup heard those words and ran over to his food bowl... now he is just standing there looking at me... Thanks Teal
Those rice paper rolls looked yummy 👍 You need to decorate the boat with 👍💬 and 🔔 Icons to help remind people as they watch the video (keep it subtle and low key) 😁
I went to Manzanillo on a cruse ship in 1985. It was brand new and the only thing you could see from the water was the hotel and that's it. I believe that they had two 18 hole golf courses and remember asking someone where all the employees lived because there was no other buildings besides the resort. I was young and barely remember but it left an impact and I've been wanting to go back ever since. Supper glad you filmed it so I can see it once again.
Teal ypu lucky guy. Linh besides obviously beautiful, she's an excellent chef, doesn't mind getting hands dirty turning a wrench, mixes thickened epoxy like a boss, can fit in engine bay, skilled seamstress making cool stuff for SV Basik, Sailor, great sense of humor, great Mom to your amazing smart daughter. I'm not jealous, just respectful admiration of your Co-Captain. Enjoy your sharing of your adventures and DIY projects.

Linh, you are such a wonderful cook. I love checking out the meals you prepare. You sure know how to cook a wide variety of meals and they all look fantastic. Also congratulations on the sewing project, they looked so professional and your sewing machine is pretty heavy-duty. You are such a vital part of this family show, every member has so much to offer in your videos. Glad to see Teal using his arm once more and that he is all healed up.
Linh doesn't just cook , every meal looks like it's from a five star restaurant . She is amazing . I love that Emma is right next to her learning from the best . I've seen other sailing videos where the wife/girlfriend hands the guy a bowl of food that looks like vomit and he says it looks & taste amazing . I get it , he doesn't want to tell her the truth but Linh is on a whole different level when it comes to food .
Thank you! That means a lot to me! I love creating something special for the crew and our friends at every opportunity. It makes me happy so I selfishly try everyday. 😊
Definitely a "must see" when sailing south on the mainland coast of Mexico. We were in the area 18 years ago and missed this stop. So glad we did it this time!
Hey Philip! Thanks for following our channel and adventures! You can check out our store using this link. Emma is our in house artist and this is how she makes money. If you buy our merch, send us a picture so we can share it! Thanks! teespring.com/stores/onboard-lifestyle
Great video, but always too short. Two questions: 1. What kind of sewing machine so you use. I’m going to try my hand at making a new sail cover and want to get a machine strong enough for the jib, and maybe the sacrificial canvas on my furled jib. 2. How do you stay so slim with all that good cookin’?
That sewing machine is the Singer heavy duty sewing machine. You can find it on our Amazon store. It works well, but if you need to work on your sails or more than 3 layers of Sunbrella, I would recommend a Sailrite. I don't have one, but I have borrowed friends Sailrite on numerous occasions to work on my outdoors projects. I hope that helps! As for our weight, we try to stay very active to balance out our eating habits. Lol
I have a question that maybe you can include in an episode. This maybe useful info for me if I can ever live fulltime like you all do. I understand for healthcare there are ways to have personal records sent to where you need it. My question is about Compass's records. How do you handle the vet care? Do you have full copies of the Vet records with you at all times? I assume you had to find a Vet that understands fulltime liveaboard and traveling lifestyle. What tips would you give to help with that? Also is there anyplace you will not go because of the requirements there?
Hey Steven! That is a great question! In regards to Compass's records, it is very important to have a pet passport with all his vaccinations and even tick/flea/worm treatments. Some countries are very strict or even will not allow your animal to enter the country. This is why we decided to not do the South Pacific right now. Australia and New Zealand and now Fiji are some of the most restrictive countries aside from having very expensive quarantine provisions in place for animals entering their country. We recently did some land travel to Guatemala and even with the right paperwork, they gave us a hard time with Compass. It's not always easy like in Mexico, but having Compass with us is well worth the sometimes more difficult avenues we have to go through. Hope that helps!
@@OnboardLifestyle That does help. I have seen channels talk a little about that and always wondered about more details. As a person that hopes to sail fulltime with a dog I will need to get as much info as I can.
@@stevenbrannen1568 one thing we have noticed is some countries have animal policies that are pretty clear and easy to understand, some countries are so confusing and it really depends on the official who is handling your paperwork. They may completely ignore the fact you have an animal all together. Lol
I’ve become a teetotaler I miss the thickened epoxy episodes. That looks like a Singer heavy duty sewing machine, any thoughts on how it performs compared to the Sailrite? Cheers and good luck!
We like the Singer sewing machine, but it doesn't compare to the Sailrite. The Singer can handle lighter projects whereas the Sailrite is made for Sail repairs and Sunbrella. On those occasions we have needed to work on the heavier projects, we have managed to borrow a Sailrite. I am hoping one day to own my own Sailrite.
The dark meat on a Jack Crevalle fish comes from its strong muscles which gives the meat an extremely "fishy" flavor. We caught and ate one once...never again. We do see them in local fish markets in Mexico , so the flavor pallet does fit some people.
Last we checked Sailing Fair Isle was sailing through the Balearics over to the Spanish mainland towards Gibraltar. Onboard Lifestyle is sailing south down Mexico's Pacific mainland coast towards Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Panama.

Those people must know a secret ingredient...they are awful! If your flavor pallet leans towards unrefrigerated week old fish then it's right in your wheelhouse.
