Depending on the way you hold the tools, the angle of the tools, the wheel speed and the softness of clay you could create many different kinds of chattering patterns. Please watch my video #113. Claudia Ortega Look for decorative pebbles perhaps. Smooth polished rocks, glass, or quartz. Home supply stores often enough will have them in the gardening sections. They are also affordable to order online.

Can you tell me what you fire at? When I tried burnishing with a spoon, my clay came out kind of a grayish color when it usually comes out white.
