I couldn't agree more. To me,, Song writing from all aspects isn't how many notes, scales, samples, layers, drum solos(never) it's about how you put it together. And arrangement that solicits that visceral response. Either by lyric or instrument. There's be a many a 3 chord genius. J. White is certainly a favorite. Interesting dude at that.
Always💯🤟
Meg White is the female John Bonham
Forever legendary
I always thought seeing original Metallica was my biggest regret. I realize now it's The White Stripes. They are a brand-less brand. The real deal.
Agreed. I had tickets twice to see them. First time it was a 5 hour drive and my car broke down 2 hours from the venue so when it was fixed I missed the show. 2nd time I had tickets Jack White broke his wrist so show was cancelled then shortly after they broke up.
@@m.w.1759shit that's some serious bad luck I can't believe it
M. W. That really sucks man... I saw them on this tour when they were in Stockholm. Not even the oh so proud morons of swedish music journalists could but give them the highest score for that show. They tore the place down!
I saw these two in Shibuya, Tokyo in 2003. It was off the charts fucking awesome!
I was at this performance. What the video doesn't capture is how much of the crowd had left before they even got on the stage. That's because they went on AFTER Iggy Pop and the Stooges who were apocalyptic. Glad I stayed though... the Stripes were on fire.
That GUITAR!!!! LOL.
Jack at guitar store: do you have anything that you were going to throw out?
Shop owner: Why?
Jack: I have a stadium show tonight and my other one fell apart......
True story: jack paid 60 dollars for that guitar at sears before they were well known
@@williammorrison6228 Montgomery Ward?
I dont.care what kind of guitar, I LOVE to watch/listen Jack White perform. The chemistry here is how I want my sex life to be!!!!❤
Terrific, Fantastic, Awesome! My favorite band!
I'm pretty sure I WANT HIM!!!!❤😊
This might be my favorite Ball & Biscuit. The way Jack fumbles with the tuner and takes the frustration out on the guitar while he's coming up to the solo. Magic Jack.
He keeps losing the E string tuning from the start, but by the time Ball and Biscuit comes, the B has gone as well, and he can't figure it out, and he's positively infuriated. It's wild to watch. By the time they have mic feedback trouble in The Nurse, I think Jack's like "Ok I'm done with this show".
him fighting that guitar was amazing. too bad he capitulated by the end
who else looks for megs cute little expressions when the camera points at her
Always! She's adorable!
I realize I'm pretty off topic but do anybody know of a good place to watch new tv shows online ?
@Rocco Marley ehh I use Flixportal. just google after it:) -reese
@Reese Clyde Thank you, I signed up and it seems to work =) I really appreciate it!!
@Rocco Marley You are welcome =)
These 2 did something incredible 1 guitar and a drum what most can't and became music legends as they deserve ❤❤❤❤
There are soooo very few originals out there. I know Jack does a few covers, but the style in which he plays them is all his own. He was willing to take risks and make music that he liked and let the chips fall where they may. Nowadays that's really ballsy. You just don't see that very much anymore. GOD I LOVE THIS SHIT!!!!!
That's why he's loved so, he told the corporate music machine to go fuck them selves and did it his way, long live JW3!!!
Captain Beefheart did the same with 3 chords and dedication, Bob Log, Howlin' Wolf, passionate fans turned musical machines
.......GOD. DAMN.
For anyone that thought genuine rock music was dead in the 2000's, then please, accept this music as evidence to the contrary.
***Sure: the majority of White Stripes' "In-your-face/vocally-nasally/Messy/Zeppelin-on-Acid/soft-to-heavy-to-soft, 'Garage-rock-turned-to-11" sound wasn't for everyone. I understand that. Speaking personally, like most other over-powering, guitar-driven music (Nirvana, Metallica, Black Sabbath, etc,) even I have to be in the right mood to listen to their one-dimensionally LOUD music - especially their live stuff.
*****BUT HOW ANYONE wouldn't/couldn't/didn't at least RESPECT this music, is beyond me - and deeply saddens me. It is INCREDIBLY skillfully-performed, original, visceral ART. And that is comparing them to their contemporaries/peers AND in rock music as a whole.
...This! Is! Music! People!
...It! Was! Right! There! In! Front! Of! You! For! 9! Years!
ball and biscuit is a symbol of jack's musical vision. he notices the guitar is out of tune but keeps playing, tryin' to tune on every other verse, but never quitting so he doesn't lose the feel and the moment.
gotta make music with what we got
He does seem really pissed by the end of the song though. I’ve never seen jack so clearly pissed before
His guitar broke. The same with the nurse.
if there was any doubt, ball and biscuit is proof he is a fucking guitar hero to the max
Jack's Death Letter solos are just amazing
This is EPIC!!
I am so glad I am from Detroit and I got to see them as much as I did.
If they would have played every day, I would have gone.
Black Math is unreal. I love how he moves back and forth between the mics.
If they played it any faster, it would spin wildly out of control. As it is, he can't fit all the lyrics in their places (well, the ones he remembers).
I am embarrassed! I have seen almost everyone live. Taking photos etc. And I have never seen the Stripes. They leave just about everyone in the dust! This is what you call real raw music. The way the world is going. I pray they start playing again.
Ditto. I'd put Prince, Bowie and Led Zeppelin in that category as well....speaking for myself, that is.
…and that we would be able to afford tickets 🙏🏼
jack white it currently on tour. 30-40% of his setlist are White Stripes songs. Next month he comes to Portland. can't wait
@@KitKatToeBeans I saw Jack White and his band in Shreveport, LA a few months ago. It was a small auditorium and the tickets were only $65. He isn't as greedy as most.
slipknot
love how 2 people can make so much music and i must confess im in love with meg
Meg completely owns In the Cold, Cold Night.
one awessome family'supreme music'they r best.thanks for sharing.g'od bless white stripes'
MEG ❤ 😍 💖 ❣
megs style is amazing!
Their energy is very similar to the Ramones, no bullshit, just music back to back, pure rock n roll.
Iam a 57 Yr old British bloke just scrolling through comments, loved punk rock for years! Don't know what white stripes are supposed to be? Dose it matter? No dose it fuck, pure raw energy, may be manufactured by Tavistock who knows? ALL I DO KNOW IS THEY SOUND FUKING GOOD
love how their live shows. jack really makes it hard on himself and it makes for a real show
Yeah he does.
This is truly one kick ass White Stripes concert from 2006. My first musical reaction when I saw/heard The White Stripes many years ago? Extremely brutally raw in a magical cool way. Most original organic "two piece" band ever witnessed. Meg White is a great "in the pocket" drummer. Jack White is a freakin' brilliant genius. They brought the best out of each other during The White Stripes era. Great memories.
She was and is Kick ass Drummer ---Saw it live...bad gal drummer
Saw this tour when it visited Stockholm. It was pure bliss and I remember I told myself several times during the show to pay attention to every second because it will not be a band like this in a hundred years or so. That was many years ago now and now Im sure it wont happen ever again.
The only thing better than listening to Meg white play the drums is watching her play the drums
Meg has a really nice groove to her drumming.
Its dem titties 😂
I really wanna Netflix and chill with her.
She's amazing
Meg is total plain Jane which place right into her hands cuz she's super sexy no wicked thoughts I just like to chill with her what a great check e 🦄
I LOVE U ❤ 😍 MEG!!!
I love meg!!
me too
Me too she is the big sister that protects us all!
Meg is the sexiest woman in rock.
Saw them in Seattle with the Yeah Yeah Yeah's .... Mind blown into pieces!!! It was a twisted night of Jack White Meg White Zinner, O, and Strange Cartoons!!! Mosh Pit was very real as well!!! Great show.... GO HAWKS lol
Raindeer Projekt fuck me yeahs and the stripes in one night?!
@@brianmanning9271 It was epic!!! loud and unleashed
It's so crazy how he tries to recover on Ball & Biscuit when that damn high E string won't stay tuned. You how amazing he is at improvising. Also this is the best version of My Doorbell
He couldn't figure out that the B string was out as well.... one of my favourite Stripes moments. He is absolutely furious!!
raw and brilliant...jack and meg, superb.
I miss them so much it hurts sometimes
We've still got them bro 👊🏻
She is such a cute drummer!! And so bloody good!!! The most feeling drummer I've ever seen. Perfect. He of course is an amazing genius. They are incredible!!! So in tune with each other. I love them!! They NEVER cease to amaze me!!
Around the 25 minute mark you get a few great looks at his guitar. It looks like it is gonna fall apart, water damage and more. Amazing he gets sound out of that old thing.
agree but sounds incredible
There is everything fine with that guitar - it's just covered with paper, for feedback control. That paper looks like garbage indeed
Pure, passionate, minimalist. I think they call it ROCK AND ROLL!
I never heard this, but I like it. Drummer woman is cute and does a great job. The ax man is awesome.
Meg is destroying it during Black Math.
The legendary Meg White.
Perfect for Jack… and she’s brilliant. For a decade she managed to keep time for a man who could not be bothered with such a trivial thing.
Hey you should check out a band called The Doublejumps if you like The White Stripes
@@andrewmarcellis2007 😁
their connection... oh my goodness whats such a brilliant concert!!
Saw them on the perth leg of this tour.
Completely changed my life.
I saw these two in Shibuya, Tokyo in 2003. It was off the charts fucking awesome!
I have seen 4 people in my life that I felt seemed at one with their instrument (it being a guitar in this case).Or so comfortable with it that it was just unbelievable. They r Jimi Hendrix Stevie ray Vaughn Eddie Van Halen and of course this bad ass sonofabitch tearin this guitar a totally new ass!!!!! I am gonna regret not seeing the white stripes live till the end of time! I have heard this statement made by various people thru out my life (I'm 57) that u only see a genius like Eddie Van Halen once in a lifetime , but here standing before u is solid proof that that statement is a total CROCK OF SHIT! I'm sure he get's tired of hearing it but , Jack White u r an original , in a way I cannot begin to convey in any way ,shape or form. All I can say is , u r the SHIT!!!!!! Thank you for every note ! You are loved for that reason alone, and I'm sure many others will agree.
I LOVE THE DRUMMER!!!
You , me and a KAJILLION other people.
@@brettrobinson2901 YESSSSS!!!
Amazing! Devastated that I will never see them live
Dynamics were great! Another fixture in the music world. Thank you, Meg!!
Ball & Biscuit was honestly pretty cool
You could feel his rage at his guitar
Wam The Tiger I love how he wrestles with his out of tune guitar and tries to incorporate the tuning into the song
Jack and Meg - can you please get back together??? We miss you!!! I just wanna hear 'Little Cream Soda' and 'Let's Shake Hands' live before I die...
Seen them at Blackpool on this tour it was absolutely brilliant....☪ Think this is my favourite period/album of them
This guys definitively have invented blues rock'n'roll
I love how they transition from 4/4 time to 3/4 time. Beautifully done. Mastership. Beautifully done
I went to this... And it was AMAZING.
Saw them around this time in Vancouver at the Orpheum. Right on the railing on the upper deck. Perfect seats. Anyway I took a new girlfriend to the show. She had no idea who we were going to see. I was totally blown away. They were just awesome. Not sure she got it though... lol.
Her loss lol
Some like it loud, I like it White Stripes loud......don't you ?
Yes I do thanks for asking lol
I doooooooo!
INDEED
Loud all the way.. that is what I do.
Yeah!!!!
Never knew captain Morgan could rock so hard
2 people, a simple drum kit, a couple shitty guitars and a whole lot of flippin talent. Every time I watch this I am awe struck.
Amen
I dont think those guitars are shitty lol
@@JohnnyRaven69 Yeah fair enough that Eastwood is fantastic. My comment was in reference to Jack grabbing absolute crap as he sometimes does and making it sound other worldly, quite honestly I think he could play a saw blade and make it work. No matter how ya slice it he has more talent in his left foot then I will ever have.
Damn. Death letter was insane.
luv 2 b that drum seat
What a wicked big day out it ducking was spectacular
Hey you should check out a band called The Doublejumps if you like The White Stripes
I like their music, I like it a lot, they are original
Damn, that dude was born to perform without a doubt....
Jack seems to me to be a great connoisseur of music, sounds, and instruments. Meg is beautiful and very talented on the drums!
39:54, he starts tuning up but is still making sure to keep with the song, very cool
Jack seems pissed at the end, Even speed up 7 nation army, But Meg loves the Song Hardest Button to Button.. She always sings it
MEG...GIRLS ROCK 🎸 DRUMS!#!#!
look at that... BOUNCE!
My bucket list ❤
Where your jam session at
I wish I could have an extended version of his cover of Lord, I Just Can’t Keep From Crying
Meg's sound is great!
How do I love you, let me count the ways. You 2 were incredible.
Nice to see that you're uploading videos again. Long live The White Stripes! :)
Jack had the coolest outfits back then. Those mariachi pants he's wearing are awesome.
As always they are the best!love jack and meg.
he just used a straighter or hair relaxer. He has awesome hair! Sydney 03 Live at Livid(Lovesick-best hair ever!) and Blackpool Lights are easily 2 of their best shows... and Manaus Brazil. so, so many!!! Love how they just make it work, I mean no setlist!?! Nice work TWS! Love you both :)
Saw em Jam Live --- Awesomeness....
I really love this one it’s a grass gig i’ll be watching A few more times for sure
Meg was killer hot back in the day, wish she would come back out and play interested to see them play together again.
They never fail to put a smile on my face. Perfect chemistry.
how come I've never seen a tambourine drum stick before
Because.. Genius is rare
This performance of Black Math >>>>>>>>>>>>>
This is some very obscure musical art and I'm digging the hell out of it and he sounds like Janis Joplin
I think the coolest thing about the white stripes is how Meg is set to the side and they face each other it’s like peanut butter and jelly both very different and unique in their own way but when they come together they face each other so cool
Por lejos la mejor banda que ha tenido el viejo Jack.
Miss you Meg, hope you are well.
Meg White is so beautiful
You guys are strangely Hot Led Zeppelin-type music. Great stuff, love it.
21 century blues rock.
the two piece allows Jack to have full range, command, spotlight. Which he is more than cappable to take on. All eyes on Jack. Great entertainer.
I don't know. My eyes used to drift over to Meg quite a bit.
@@morganghetti... I agree
Spot on
No he's not an entertainer but a performer.
he said that because he didn't want the media to mess in his life. they married and started the band in 1997, then divorced in 2000
damn, what a show...
Sometimes "The Hardest Button To Button" is the one after an all you can eat Buffett.😂
Mega having fun on drums
Just awesome...
saw them in Minneapolis for this tour. Twas AMAZING!
Call Paul through because that’s what champions do and listen to you guys thanks so much I really really really needed it
26:30 Fell in love with a girl
one of my favourite Big day outs
Classic Meg, Jack, White Stripes Show
Never gets old, timeless..
seems like jacks guitar is like a performance engine, hard to get it right but when it is right it fucking is right.
4/4 to 3/4 to 2/4. Beautifully done.
Hope they get back together for few shows!! He’s so brilliant!! Megs kicks ass! Jacks born to do this!! This is real rock and tool!! 🤜🏼🤛🏼👊🏼🤘🏼🎸. I hear a little Robert Plant, Janis Joplin and a few others. They friggin rock!!
Hotel Yorba is an original.I drive by that place every day my dad use to work their back in the 60 his uncle owmed it his name was Clide Haddock he was a professional pool.player.
Pure rock n roll!!!
