- In this video I show you how to turn your sidemarker light into a blinker. This is done on a 2013 Jeep Rubicon. I would add that using some electrical grease will ensure no problems with moisture and a good wrap with quality electrical tape before inserting wires back into the wiring loom.

thanks alot this video was a big help i saw some vids that they actually stripped the wire and i think this way is the best way to go looks real professional and clean.

Did this mod to day and it works great it also still uses the marker light as a marker light so reealy there is no reason not to do this mod and the wirering harnes adaptor is a little price any way so just spend the $2........Great video thanks for the share!!!!

This mod method will not allow u to use LED bulds in the markers. If you do want to be able to use LEDs do what i did.... Cut both marker wires . Then connect to both power feed of the signal/ running light bulb. .....doing this will have the same effect as just connecting the ground off marker light to power feed of signal like in this vid. But u can use LED bulbs or regular bulbs if you wish. I did this on an 06 Nissan Frontier last night but i didnt use scotch lock tappers, instead i use weather proof heat shrinkable butt connectors (cut wire then make a Y connection to it) . I hear theose scotch locks are fire hazzards. When i was done, i encase everything back into the loom and taped up.....everything looks factory :) As for the power feed of the original feed of the side marker, i heat shring tube it shut. Hope this helps. Am rather OCD when it comes to electrical work on a car .... Everything must look factory and water tight when done haha sorry.
Tip: steggerring the cut wire will make it possible to reduce space between the two butt connectors when placing back into the loom :)

I did this mod using led side markers, cut both white and black wires from the marker, attached straight to front turn signal white wire power source works great, all lights work properly.

2014 JK Owners! This awesome modification does not work on your vehicle. They have changed the wiring somehow, and following these instructions will leave you with one blinker (the uncut side), until you return it to normal. It's a bummer, as it is a simple and decent modification.

This is a Neat Mod for sure. Does the marker light continue to work as a standard light? Just adds the alternating blink to it?
I would seal the connector so you don't get corrosion... or better yet, cut, solder and shrink tube.
Unfortunately, this mod does not work on the 2013 JK. I'm guessing the wiring has been changed for some reason. I'm bummed. Such a cool mod, too.
For the white and black wire for the parking marker lights which is positive? I would assume the white one
I need to wire in a mirror mounted turn signal, would this process work to add that signal to the normal blinker light?
Does the fender maker light stay illuminated when the headlights are on? Does it alternate with front blinkers when lights are on? Does in blink in rhythm when headlights are off?

The connector is called a scotch lock ....grease the hell out of them or you will get corrosion on them ...
it is a tagalong or a bridge depending where you go.
Does this work with the Bushwhacker flat fender flare LEDs?

I’m in Greece and my JK side marker lights are also blinkers from the factory. I guess this is for the Euro spec JKs.
My question is how can I make my turn signal to work also as a marker when my parking lights are on?

What do the other ends of these wires connect to? Wouldn't it be simpler and more robust to disconnect the far end of the black wire and plug/screw it onto whatever the other end of the lower white wire connects to?

On my right side. The black wire is underneath and the white wires are on top. Would I just cut the white like how it was on the left even though it's flipped?

Does the white wire on the side marker light need to be connected? The wires accidentally came out of the other side of the connector and I can’t find a replacement. So I thought maybe I could just tie it in to the turn signal?
No it should still work.

Is this a parklight making it also a signal light?
Yes it's a marker light conversion into a blinker as well.
the only problem is that using this method will not cause your side marker to blink with the turn signal if the lights are off. Using the two wire method, it will blink with the turn signal regardless of whether the lights are on or off. You just take the black wire from the side marker and the white wire from the side marker and splice it to the light colored wires from your turn signal light.
This 1 wire method works with the lights on or off. If the lights are on, it alternates, if they are off, it blinks at the same time. At least for my 2012.
