If technology was better you could just buy a field emitter, basically it's a device of my own that if I made I'd have around 500k in a few weeks maybe, anyway just place the device in your house and tune it to the bug frequency and it puts an invisible barrier around ya house that only bugs can hear, when they enter your zone the field basically fries their brains n they die instantly, maybe I'll call it the windshield 🤣🤣🤣 but yea, it takes as much power as a lamp and can possibly repel larger creatures without death, like messin with a beehive but not as dangerous
I was all set and raring to go when you said we need some alcohol and we were going to have to mix it... and then I came rushing back down and saw I had all the wrong types of alcohol, but made a stiff drink and sat back and thought I will sit and learn and enjoy the video with a drink anyways! I need old tractor repellent. I cleaned out the weeds around my barn and found myself neck deep in non running tractors. Don't know when breeding season is or I'd mix some alcohol and essential hydraulic oil and spray it all around.
I use a similar way to the bottle trick. Get a mason jar with a lid add 1/4 cup of water and a few squirts of soap, Shake well then go push them in. With the soapy bubbles, it traps them and they can't fly out when you open it for the next bug.
I used cedarwood oil to make a spray for fleas on my dog. Works great. I will have to try this. They, the leaf-footed bugs poke holes in my tomatoes and then they taste nasty. I will try the cedarwood oil with soapy water for the tomatoes. Thanks for the advice.

And boy am I glad. I kill everything for my twin daughters who hate bugs(me too but im the only parent on deck) . This bug has tormented the ladies since Friday; its Tuesday. I had to sleep in their room on the floor; one was calling my name all night awake and sleep. Got those Gatorade bottles yesterday. Found that sucker and bottle him just like you said. He was upside down so I thought it would work! No miss technique. Best UA-cam tip ever!

I do the same thing with the bottle, just add a little bit of soapy water in the bottle so they die. I used to always have a spray bottle with soapy water around to kill them, now I spray everything with Talstar Pro. Highly recommended it if you are in a state that you can buy without a pesticide license, if not I would definitely try the sprays in the video.

Sounds awesome , if you can still get them in a bottle , does this concoction attract them to it and get in themselves then killing them ? Definitely gonna try the bottle trick !!!!! Thanks 👍
I need to try this. I just used some packing tape yesterday to pick one up, and closed right in, but I was thinking duct tape might have worked better. I’m going to try your method.
we haven't been able to get 91% alcohol around here since March!!! with covid, 70% is available very seldom. Even online it's hard as hell to get. the hospital was out of it for awhile. We get Elm seed beetles, I'll try your tip, the vacuum is getting full.

Thank you for this, going to try they are all over the outside my house. I think I'm more impressed that you got a mobile home for $3500. Ours cost $99,000 and it is pre-owned with no land 😭
Thank you for the bottle tip. We use a special insecticide that Southern States carries. I'll have to try the Eco Smart. Thanks again. P.S. Hoping for a cold winter this year to beat down the population....come on polar vortex (giggle).
Hello from Morganton. Love the videos keep them coming. Thought it was funny when at the end of the video you said that you have to deal with the stink from the chemicals “it’s just a fact of life.” I guess you have to fight stink with stink.
Not sure about the cedar idea. We have a cabin and it has cedar siding and they are all over it. I’ll be sure to try the pesticide, thanks for the tips.
The video was nice but I really liked what he said about living in a trailer that you and your wife paid for. And you refuse to build until your land is paid for. My people parish from the lack of knowledge. My car is paid for and I refuse to get a new car with a payment. My thought process is exactly like yours sir. Thank you for your wisdom, I just hope I wasn’t the only one who caught that. 😎😎😎
Debt is prison.....being debt free is heavenly! We don't need to keep up with the Jone's...we just need a simply comfortable warm place to sleep, eat and live outside
You're so blessed to be able to live in a trailer until your land is paid for! Where we live, it's against the law or we would have done this as well. Just wanted to share so you know how fortunate you are. Keep on sharing these videos! Love them.
I bought my 65 Nova wagon project car from a guy over your way. It had a few of those things in there. They sure do stink when you squish them. Not sure they liked the Michigan winter. Haven't seen any around in years.
What I found to work well for capturing stick bugs in the house is empty prescription bottles, you can place your bottles around the house so there's always one ready when needed.
@@StoneyRidgeFarmercan’t you put some on spikes around the house to make examples of them for the others to see? 😂 Only if they were smart enough to get the message.
Awesome advice, thanks so much! I’m definitely going to try to spray the eastern side of my house where they seem to like to hang out (and also where my deck and the most used door into my house is located grrr…). For inside I have found that duct tape works great in addition to the bottle method. I take a piece of duct tape, stick it on the stink bug so they can’t escape and then I thoroughly enjoy folding that tape over knowing that they’re trapped and dying in their own weird stench liquid. When you get good at the technique you can get multiple stink bugs in one “taping”, so satisfying!
That's funny, they like the heat but the eastern side of my house is where the sun is not shining in the afternoon but that's also the side their are millions. Also, I use the two cup method to catch the ones inside, or my wife who is shorter uses a vacuum insense method,
*I went a little different route with the "home" mine is an RV that i purchased for $12,000.00 it's a 35 foot with 3 slide outs. would have loved to find something decent enough to live in for $3500 that would have been a God's send. i'm buying an acre and a half and i currently have 2 Rvs and a run down busted up mobile home on the property but i am being over run with stink bugs in the fall and those invasive lady bugs you mentioned in the spring also. too bad that mixture can't be sprayed using a pressure washer or something of that sort would make it quicker and easier if it could. i have one of those also and many cedar trees currently growing on this lot as well. any way i'll give this a try and see what happens*
I use dawn soap and water in a bottle. They die on contact. Been doing this every year so far .works great.i can usually get about 7 or 8 in a day inside my house. Usually on my drapes.
Here are some elaborations for the Gatorade bottle trick. 1. Put a small amount of soapy water in the bottle to drown the bugs and mitigate the stink. (Do this in your shop vacs as well, if you’re vacuuming the stinkers.) 2. For bugs that are beyond your reach - and they do like heights - extend the bottle using vacuum cleaner wands or similar and they will jump down, usually all the way down, but you may need to tap the wand to coax the critter all the way into the bath you have prepared.
I have little led lights along the wall. When I hear the zzzzip noise or my cats are watching them intently...I know one came in. I just get a little plastic cup & scoop it up. Lucky for me I only get maybe 10 every winter. I might need I mighthyer solution if it was worse...😁
Thanks for the great tips . Stink bugs are not much of a problem in my area . Lucky me . I do like the fact that the non toxic stuff kills all kinds of other bugs . Just wondering how do you heat your mobile home in the winter . Thanks .
Everything is toxic if you guzzle enough. If you drink enough water you'll die. Isopropyl alcohol is exceedingly toxic. DDT is far far less toxic to humans than isopropyl alcohol. I don't know where anyone gets this idea that something is "non-toxic" or maybe it's more like if you can't pronounce the chemical name for it and it sound scary it must be bad right? LOL

Easiest way I have found is a 2 step solution:
Step 1- burn the entire area to the ground
Step 2- move far far away
If technology was better you could just buy a field emitter, basically it's a device of my own that if I made I'd have around 500k in a few weeks maybe, anyway just place the device in your house and tune it to the bug frequency and it puts an invisible barrier around ya house that only bugs can hear, when they enter your zone the field basically fries their brains n they die instantly, maybe I'll call it the windshield 🤣🤣🤣 but yea, it takes as much power as a lamp and can possibly repel larger creatures without death, like messin with a beehive but not as dangerous
