I remember when I started playing the game was really fun, until they removed arenas (my favorite gsmemode at the time), and then stopped adding much content other than skins I quit a few months ago

They just pulled the game from any country without psn. So they really didn't change anything🤷🏽♂️ there was no hd2 win in reality. People still play it, but the community got duped.

im not going to leave the game, i like it, but im not going to spend a single euro/dollar till they do not revert the change, i have already a lot of skin thanks to the battlepass, i was even going to buy an event (70 euro+craft) for the heirloom recolor of lifeline but not anymore, my team is of the same opinion, one of them spent 1k and he said that he will not spend too, and i know him, when he say something that's it, and im positive that almost everyone is of the same opinion, the event is another story, only a little amount of players really buy events, usually youtuber/streamer and whales, but tha battle pass is something everyone buy, that's the difference, i do not care if the youtuber that make money playing cant buy his little new heirloom for 160 euro and need to spend 300, but i fucking care when all the young player tha cannot spend money or the F2P or light spender cannot even buy a battle pass anymore (i have friends that waited differents season only to buy the battlepasses without spending because they cant) this is not anymore a matter of 1% of the community, this is something that all the community do not like
Realistically games like Apex work on a 6 month dev cycle, meaning anything you see now was being worked on 6 months ago, and any BIG changes take 6 months to reach the public. That means realistically the Apex community should be prepared for at least 2 seasons of nonsense before this is reverted.
Man ive been playing apex since it came out. I have about 3k hours in it and it sucks so much to see how bad its gotten. its hard to support a really good game when EA shoves their shitty marketing down everyone's throats. I hope it gets better but i doubt it will unless we band together and make them change it, but knowing EA they wont.

Honestly, it will probably take abit of time to revert the battlepass if they do revert it. As it's assumed they had not created any trackers, holosprays, or stickers for this battlepass and had made 4 legendary skins instead of 2 and 4 additional recolors for said skins.
I was one of the launch day players, and ended up playing pretty actively for around ten seasons. Then things started getting significantly worse, from unnecessary changes to previous Battlepass skins (Heatskin), to ridiculously priced events, and a consistent lack of any major balance changes
I have a feeling that they might go back on their word and make is so you can buy the BP for Apex Coins but they will make it significantly more expensive

This works for anything too guys. If we all worked together and didnt buy skins or heirlooms or anything apex would be forced to change or die. People often forget that getting ripped off isnt just how it is, but the people hold the power with their dollar
Hey @Grrt, I really wonder how the first BP in S22 being claimable via challenges will affect this whole situation! Respawn has mentioned that just the first one can be claimed without spending money within 2 weeks by completing challenges, meaning many people could claim it.
What I feel is this might be used to quiet down the playerbase. Its hard for playerbase to keep their voices high for suck long periods (like 6-10 weeks), and by that point I fear a large portion of backlash would become silent. EA might just ride the wave and wait till no one is complaining anymore.
The issue in regards to not buying the pass, is that they made split 1 ones pass free as long as you log in the 1st two weeks. So the only way we make this work is if everyone doenst play at all during split one so they cant use playtime metrics to say the change was a success before split 2.
thats great and all but here’s the thing: respawn predicted we’d try and boycott the battle pass and already have countermeasures. no one’s talking about the part on their website that says “All players will be able to earn the first split’s Premium Battle Pass at season launch by logging in and completing a set of challenges within the first two weeks. This first one is on us.”
we can’t boycott the first battle pass if it’s free, and respawn’s probably hoping that by the time the second split and second battle pass come around, we’ll all have forgotten about being angry at the changes.
This is cool to hear, but the point still stands. They aren’t trying to help the game. They might want to, but EA has them on a leash and just wants them to make stuff that makes them money. The game just isn’t the same anymore

One thing about Apex is that it doesn’t have great skins for people to spend so they would much rather save it for the next pass which causes a cycle of not spending money. If they would produce nice skins people will spend money and they won’t have to monetize the battle pass. They are for sure going into the wrong direction here.

Played since week 1 of Season 0. Purchased the season 2 battle pass and have used the coins from that to fund every single other battle pass since then. If I can't use coins I won't buy the pass, simple. I have spent money on the game - at the anniversary events I will usually buy a set of apex packs or something as thanks for all the free gaming, maybe $40 over the course of the games life.
Boycotts of digital products almost never actually work because of the scale of engagement needed to have an impact. Boycotts work best with high value (and high margin) products with small sales numbers - small mobilization requirement with high per person impact.
I've been off apex for like two years, once you let go it feels great.

Apex Arenas using legend abilities bought in a team v team situation was satisfying, and honestly one of the best SBMM displays I had ever seen, the matches had their flaws occasionally but it was balanced.
They got rid of that and kept the Battle Royale...like there isn't already 2 dozen BRs.
They brought back deathmatch/gun game/domination....except ALL of these modes are watered down and kinda terrible.
No loadouts, everything being prefabricated, no uniqueness, off brand TitanFall//Battlefield Gameplay....
I hope they realize what pays and what plays, because this game is on the path to die either way.

I left Apex almost 2 months ago because of 9 manning. It destroyed my passion for ranked and taught me all my efforts for pred meant nothing from, well, a ranked perspective. I wasn't a streamer so there was really nothing that could make me stay.
Apex had finally lost it's charm for me after practicing hard for more than 3 years.
I am actually in negative apex coins so I’m happy that I can actually get the battlepass tbh
Where tf is the better matchmaking, the anti cheat, the aim assist nerf(on pc), the input based matchmaking, the bug fixes, better servers???

I've played since season 0 during the elite queue and i stopped playing about when they added conduit because of the lore regarding to titanfall and also got tired of cheaters or disconnecting mid match. It's sad to see what was my favorite BR be at the state its in.
Apex needs to die so a single player Mirage game can happen they should actually make one for each character and stop this train wreck from continuing.

Not only the BP but the latest event requires you spend nearly 360 dollars to guarantee you get the skin for the Havoc. Coming from me, an idiot who bought the PK recolor, that's insane.
Im probably biased cause ive been playing the game since day 1 but its been fun this season for me 🤷🏽♂️ quads has legitimately made the game refreshing again. Teammates actually group up, enemies dont feel too sweaty most games (despite me being a pretty big sweat myself)
I just came back after a couple week break and i’m having a lot of fun with the game. The battle pass changes isn’t even that bad imo, especially for a free game…
Actually the Helldivers 2 situation wasn't reversed. Instead of saying you must have a ps account they just removed a bunch of regions from playing which aren't allowed ps accounts.
Note you never needed a ps account at the start so they basically banned half the player base and said the fans won....

The Helldivers 2 thing was more of Sony's move and not the actual development team behind the game. They were actually on the complete opposite but since Sony's the one funding them they kinda had no choice.

The new heirlooms twice a season was already a slap in the face for death box cosmetics… the battlepass is just unforgivable
I think we can take a q from what war thunder players did and mass downvote the game on steam and we did that and gaijin finally listened

Shareholders didn't enjoy having people buy one battle pass and then Coast off of it for the rest of the seasons. That's probably why the changes were made. But since they haven't told us that's just my opinion.
I highly doubt they will change the BP for season 22, because they want to see how many buy it nontheless, but let’s hope they do it for season 23. I wouldn’t even complain if the raise the price that you can buy the BP with leftover ACs but without a profit, so get 2000 ACs in the BP and the next BP costs 2000 ACs. So you have to buy Apex coins if you want more then the BP. Sounds stupid, but we still get skins and craftings. Best idea I have for EA if they want to make good money, without binding the BP to irl money

They won't revert the battlepass changes unless the next season launches and sells extremely poorly. People complained about the Blackcell battle passes in COD, but despite the very vocal outcry, they have sold incredibly well. At the end of the day money talks more than anything else.

Most casual players never bought every skin, and usually only got the battlepass once because they could get the next one with those coins. Most players that stay are content creators and pros and people who feel obligated to play because theyve dumped so much money in already
People are mad because the battlepass was literally the only thing you could get for free in this game.
1:26 tf2 as well, it may have not been the main reason valve decided to do something with the game but I feel like in a way it did help get their attention

I dont mind the change. 20$ per season is nothing. Yes they want more cash flow, but that might result in bigger dev team and better/faster updates, fixing stuff etc.

1st time I won't have the bp since release and am worried there will be no incentive to play mid way through the season making a potentially solid season boring. Cheaters and recycled events will still be a thing next season.
Apex is my most played game. I think I've only spent £30 on it over 4 years. I don't understand why so many people are annoyed at a completely voluntary purchase.

I am not interested anymore about forcing their hand and stuff, what's annoys me more than the two separate passes is the fact that coins can no longer be used for bps.
They removed arenas which was my fav game mode, not only was it fun but made me better, little by little, i could win games often and when they removed it, i went to the other game modes, they were not my cup of tea, got bored and moved on, went back a month ago and tried to get better playing those game modes and moved to BR here and there but no actuall progress, i got bored and just decided to quit it in general, i loved apex like no other game, i had fond memories with my younger brother and it really hurt me quitting but i guess its better to just live with those memories

The battlepass changes themselves are fine, honestly sounds like a better system than we have now.. it’s the price that’s the problem. Just make the price $5 every half season for premium and $15 every full season for premium+

Did a good thing by deleting this game when they pushed the artifact dagger for 200$ when it was supposed to be earned in the game for free. I guess now the 1000 coins i have in my account is useless.
Sadly, it’s not about devs, it’s about EA, their greed and the bottom line. Since EA doesn’t care about their tarnished image, I doubt that they’ll revert the change. Wails will prove their strategy right.
