It could probably fall in that category, although someone on reddit described this style as Solarpunk. I'd previously never heard of this style, but after a google search, I think it fits the bill.@@flok.3377
@@flok.3377 Brutalism is itself an architectural style, but this building has too many intricate details to be brutalist in my shallow understanding of architecture.
Stunning work man! I especially like the ender eye apartments and how intimidating the capital building is. Really reminds me of Hunger Games and Divergent, I'd love to see the movie based on Carserium.
Thank you kindly! Full disclosure, hunger games has been the main source of inspiration throughout pretty much the entire build. And yea it really felt like this capitol building needed to invoke a bit of fear and submission, and it’s kind of cool that you can see from just about anywhere because of its size. Thanks for the comment!
Oh wow! That was an amazing timelapse! I absolutely love brutalist architecture and it's so unusual to see in Minecraft! It's got so many cool touches it's almost like sci-fi brutalist, I love it! I really enjoyed that you decorated with small details as well in the interiors, and the bots and drones looked amazing! The opti-condos really stood out well as a touch of colour.
Ayyy thank you so much Lelith! I feel like this Timelapse and style of build are the complete opposite of the cozy and peaceful style that you’re known for, but who doesn’t love brutalism!
The style and details are unique and fantastic, but the thing that sets this apart from anything else cyberpunk or dystopian is that it feels like it belongs to the Minecraft lore. Ended eye condos, villagers running around, plants on and around the sides of structures, and brutalism lends a lot of creativity to Minecraft with everything being based around blocks. Inspired!!!
That looks incredible! You deserve all the views! It always amazes me what people can create in Minecraft, meanwhile I can barely make a dirt hut lmao.
You're so underrated! I want to be an architect and it's great to see an architect interacting in minecraft without limits! I hope we could meet one day! xD Keep it up :) (Also you're profile picture is artistic and I love it!)
Thank you for the kind words!:) It’s been really fun to see this world come together and I can’t wait to finish it. For future content, is there anything you’d like to see that hasn’t been done before? Maybe a build idea or different type of video altogether?
Hmm personally I would want to see all the mental process and things you go through while you build including using all sorts of building tools. That would really be helpful for people who want to get into building in minecraft! But, I believe it is more important to some extent that you find what you really want to do for the channel and find the color for it! Afterall, there are such diverse viewers out there so it all comes down to your desires! The views will follow, I believe!
wow, very unique design. making the building diagonal was very unconventional, but added so much depth and texture. and it really made those tall windows stand out. and interesting condo's, with t he net viaduct. :)
Thank you ! I’m glad someone can appreciate the diagonal design because it was quite painful to build, unfortunately I think I’ll have one more large structure to build diagonally…
I hate brutalism, that being said, I love this project, so much. The level of detail and craft in this beat out so many real brutalist projects, and it's not even funny. Earned a sub from a fellow Architect(well, grad student, anyway)
Woah that’s awesome! I can totally understand how the style can sometimes be a turn off, but there are some really incredible buildings in this style- I used a lot of buildings from the Soviet modernism era as precedents for this build in particular. Thanks for the sub and good luck in grad school!
Subscribed within the first 20 seconds of the video - Absolutely insane!!! Top fav builds of all time, plus all the lore it holdsss 👌👌👌 Will proceed to binge watch the rest of your videos and cry myself to bed cause I have to wait for the next upload.
Hi, Waiting so long for such a short video (not a criticism), but what an incredible result. The Capitol aligns perfectly to the other parts of Carserium. The level of detail is insane, and the builds fit so perfectly into the world, the way you adapt the environment looks so natural but also with a trace of "here we are, here we must be" 🙃 I wonder, I've been following you since almost day one (or two?), how long had you been playing Minecraft before releasing your first build? I've been playing MC since at least version 1.7 and even before that with a Linux fork of the game, but I'm not even 5% of the way into your building skills!
I think if you compare say his first 3 videos to his last 3, he has gotten a lot better just since then, both in build skill and in how to show it in a video. Pretty impressive.
Hey thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! I’m so grateful for the devoted, active subscribers that were there from the beginning, like you. The videos are only going to get better. And I’ve been playing for a long time- the first update I remember was 1.3 when emeralds were introduced. However, I’ve only really started getting better as a builder since starting this channel. I’ve worked really hard at learning new build tricks and studied builds by the pros. It’s really great hearing that the improvement is being perceived by viewers!
Ayyy thabks:) I built some weird lab-type offices for each side and copied them using world edit, but the center portion is really just a giant atrium for the main floor.
As a student of architecture I really hate brutalism, that being said this is a phenomenal project, and those drones, consider them "borrowed" ;) (jokes aside the drones look amazing)

Brutalist is 10000% the right word for this. It's much more aesthetic than what I'm used to see though!

I don't understand why people don't like brutalism
I can't think of any examples that don't look awesome
Reminds me of Arasaka tower in Cyberpunk 2077
Just got to the greenery on the roof-- now not so much! Still very cool though!
So these are not made with world edit or anything like that? 1 block at a time?? That doesnt seem possible ^^.
I used world edit quite a bit. If I hadn’t, I’d definitely still be building
