Oh dude, I want an HH fusion T so bad! It’s actually hard to find affordable t types with humbuckers. Usually I don’t like the few options that I find, but I love the modern touches on these. I wanna throw some bareknuckles in one of these.
(This is a compliment, I promise) Your demos always sound like 90's era Metallica to me, and it's sick. I always look forward to your reviews. Even though you're working with HB, you're honest. I dig that.
I bought the flame maple top version. Out of the box it played and sounded ok. It did a proper set up. Polished the frets. Removed the nut and sanded it down to the proper height. Slight truss rod adjustment. I also replaced the pickups with Dimarzio 36th anniversary PAF pickups. Now this guitar plays and sounds like a $1500 guitar. I love it
Loving these Harley Bentons. I honestly am jealous of the quality and choice available to those starting out these days. I'd have killed for one as a teenager

I have half of the Harley Benton's in my cart at Thoman's website on a continual basis and i have to be careful with my impulse for gratification buying. They just keep putting out what i want... and afford me the ability to do more than dream, i can actually afford to buy these! What a concept in marketing and sales. Thomann is tough to beat. Even from half way around the world they get my business.

Totally right about the pickups mate, put some snazzier electronics and pickups in my Fusion 2 and now it’s *chef kiss* Got a push-in arm for the Floyd too which is a relatively cheap upgrade that made the whammy bar 100 x better.
I wonder if they will make a fusion T with roasted maple neck, and SS frets, but with traditional pickup combo and the Wilkinson traditional style bridge?
The biggest reason I haven’t bought anything Harley Benton is that there are no US distributer. Same with Solar. Just doesn’t want to deal with the whole import thing personally. Or rather I just want Thomann (etc) to have a warehouse in the US basically. It would be enough.
A middleman would kill their USP - and increase the price by at least 50%. Give it a try, I own 3 HB and have never regret it. MEGA customer support btw. Cheers from Germany. ;)

Hey Hunter, I bought the green sparkle hard tail fusion-t and i freaking love it. It was setup by Thomann but it did need a few tweaks when I got it, it plays like a dream now. The Roswell's are great, but completely agree that some hotter pickups would make this puppy shine. That's an awesome project to have been part of mate, any more plans to collaborate with Thomann or others? P.S. I still watch your Firebird Studio T video waaaay too much (amazing song + wow, what a guitar), I cant find a purple one anywhere for love nor money :D
I think I'll stick with the Charvel so Cal style 2. I've never played Harley Benton; however for a little more I like the quality from Charvel, minus the stainless steel frets. I'm not sold on the Wilkinson parts, I prefer the gotoh products personally. Ibanez hasn't made any t style guitars with a trem, with the exception of the ball back and turbo in the 80s
Wow the roasted maple sounded abit brighter, im not a fan of maple all my guitars are rosewood or ebony, but that roasted board and neck is spicy. I would love to try one.
Those guitars would even look better without the fretboard dots, and would probably cost a bit less. Cool specs for the price, especially the SS frets. Cheers!
So, I've watched both of the videos and have been eyeing the Fusion II Harley Bentons for almost a year now, but the problem is I have also been jonesing for a new Charvel San Dimas or dinky model... I know you have had the opportunity to play all of these, and what is your opinion about how the Harley Benton Compares in terms of quality, sound, playability, and all around value?
Been wondering the same thing. Really want a DK24 or DK22, but it bothers me that they don’t have stainless steel frets. The specs on these Fusions are on point though, except the pickup selector location is problematic.
I've not played a harley benton. But i will say this. I played a Charvel Dk24 2pt HH that has the roasted maple neck and board. I've not played a finer guitar than that one. For me it's worth every bit of the 950 price tag and the seymour duncan's in it sounded great even through a cheap line 6 spider
The green sparkle is the best one in my opinion. Man if i win the green one it's going to be such a shame when i give it to my friend. I have 2 great guitars and my friend has a shit 100 bucks strat copy, so it's a no brainer to give it to him. Anyways great demo, the clean sounds are really good on this guitar!
I have high hopes for this guitar. I just 2 weeks ago got the cst24t and it was a great guitar. But it was A stock, and what they sent was 100% B stock. Toms of bleeding in the headstock, the tone nob had some give to it, there was a nick in the neck where it meets the body, and most unacceptable, the nut wasn't level. The pocket for it to sit in was higher on one side than the other (had binding leftover under it on the low E side). And Thomann only offered 30 bucks back for it. Not a replacement of a proper one. Or to fix it themselves. But they did refund me fully and so i sadly had to send it back. Which i didnt want to do. I LOVED THE GUITAR! It was spectacular, but an unfinished guitar in b stock quality is unacceptable. So im giving them one more chance with the black fusion T and am praying for it to be proper because i love what HB has to offer and want almost all of their models. Oh and the Cst24t had to 2 INSPECTION CARDS. I understand 100% that shit happens and things make it through the cracks but WTF... it took me all of 5 minutes to figure out and see every flaw.. These guitars are too nice to let such follish crap taint peoples purchases and in turn ruin their reputation. And it would definitely not hurt for them to look into some of thier Customer Service staff/policies being properly followed. Because for the last time they do make REMARKABLE guitars and everyone deserves to know and sew for themselves how good the can be! (When made properly) haha..
Jealous you got these from Thomann in such Good condition! I bought a B Stock Fusion T with TERRIBLE FRETS! Im hoping they can discount me so I can buy a new neck. The body is Fabulous! (Lightweight too thank goodness)
I actually ordered the black lefty version with the tremolo bridge, just today as a matter of fact! Only thing is they are asking to reserve/order and as soon as they start sending packages again (due to virus craziness) So, I will have something to look forward to, hopefully I will get it soon! Well, at least it's already ordered... I might add that I also purchased the FUSION 2 pro HSH with flame maple and toasted flame maple neck, I love the way it feels AND sounds!!!!! I recently got one of the green fusion t’s. The one major downside I would say is that they are very neck heavy. When playing standing up the neck dive is very difficult to deal with. Also mine had a badly cut nut when I received it.. but Thomann gave me a £40 refund so that I could get it refitted professionally.
Yeah - the neck dive on these is horrible. Not even sure how it's so bad and I tried removing some tuners to find out where the weight is. It aint the tuners.
Hey there Hunter, When you say "natural binding", are you meaning that the body wood was masked off before painting? Like what Ibanez does with the Premiums and some others. Or is it a real strip of wood binding that is put on traditionally around the body after the edge route? Thanks again for all your hard work and take care man! BTW - That Marshall DSL sounds great the way you have it all set up!
I believe it’s masked off. The latter method is cooler for sure, but it’s also more time-consuming, takes more labor hours, and is therefore more expensive. The point of the HB brand is to get us much guitar as possible per dollar to the consumer, and the strip of wood binding isn’t really going to make it a better playing guitar. So while I don’t know for sure, the former would be my guess. Either way, it looks cleaaaan :)

And yet having brand new guitars with stainless steel frets in that price range is still a pretty rare thing. It's not so much about the price of the steel itself, but more about the fact that it's harder to work with so most manufacturers don't bother when it comes to inexpensive models.

That neck humbucker is hella beefy clean
The pickup selector placement is a dealbreaker. Fan of HBs in general tho, love my 335 copy.
For me the pup selector is in exactly the right spot. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Hows the thickness of the neck compared to other guitars? I'm used to play thin u necks of esp ltd.

Stainless steel frets only cost 20 bucks more than nickel frets so I wouldn't get overly excited about it.
And yet having brand new guitars with stainless steel frets in that price range is still a pretty rare thing. It's not so much about the price of the steel itself, but more about the fact that it's harder to work with so most manufacturers don't bother when it comes to inexpensive models.
