Helicopters are my first love after WW2 warbirds and as such Ive spent alot of time flying them in various sims and studying them in RL. As such I have a few comments on the Vid but I'm no more a Heli pilot as I am an Airline pilot, just an Arm Chair pilot. The H160 has a lot of auto control AFCS and auto trim functions that make it easier to fly than a traditional heli but in the sim it can make it awkward and unnatural to fly. I would recommend on setting up Trim release buttons and reading about it in manual its more fun and functionally useful. Rolling takeoffs above walking speed are a no-no although i couldn't tell how fast you were going. A CAT A clear ahead takeoff (runway) still requires you to hover first then move forward and climb. There are H160 vids on YT of pilots creeping forward and climbing. The Torque exceedance is because you were climbing with too much airspeed its recommended to keep to VY which is 65Kts then accelerate to cruise speed when level. Heli dont have a large margin on power at anytime especially when fully loaded. The little bar just below 140Kts is the recommended cruise speed (138) usually with AP (IAS) on. As you said the descent speed (VS) was way too much -500fpm is recommended. I don't know why its doing 1500 in your vid maybe its coding issue of the aircraft or you set trim odd somehow. Coming in to land and getting below the landing level is VERY BAD as collisions are likely with buildings etc. Its a common error in the sims where you mis-judge and descend too low but have the height of the pad above the ground to bail you out. Thx for the video was nice to see the H160 being featured. HYPE with the H145 and H160 have made some wonderful aircraft. I am praying Msfs2024 will have significantly better Heli physics and these aircraft can be elevated to an even more incredible standard.
Absolutely the best and most informative video I've found about the H160, which is quite an achievement, I don't think I've ever seen so many youtubers get advance copies of a plane :)
Very nice demonstration of this fine product from HPG. I agree with the good commenters below. The sim settings can make for a slightly unatural and awkward control of the helicopter, so it is worth spending some time in the sim settings. There are a good few YT videos that cover the basics. However it also depends on your hardware too. From the Thrustamaster Hotas, or the Airbus TCA Quadrant and Joystick to name but a few, and many more variations. You have to set up your hardware carefully and in the sim too. Just my general experience folks with helicopters in the sim. For me this is my first purchase of an HPG model. The detailing and auto functions are a big help for a beginner to helicopters. So much fun flying low over my favourite bespoke scenery in the sim. I can highly recommend NZA Simulations Milford Sound area in New Zealand. Gorgeous scenery to fly in this helicopter. Many thanks for this informative and fun demo.
The H160 has AFCS which is not similar to full blown fly by wire like the aircrafts but it still has many common features. The h160 still has traditional hydro mechanical flight controls.
Having a proper collective control (I use a virpil one) but others exist makes a massive difference to flying helis in any sim. Interesting points you can tune and AP fly an ILS... The HTAWS will drive you nuts (STBY) a must, flying OEI is funny but your probably crash...
It’s interesting to me that Airbus returned to the right turning (as viewed from the cockpit) rotor system with the H160. Maybe that had to do with EASA certification? Anyway, I didn’t notice that until watching this video. I wasn’t too interested in the 160 until now- I want to see if that really messes me up! Thanks!
Hi, Do you know if this is available to purchase in XBox X ( MSFS Game Pass?) Also, what stick/Controller are you using for Cllective & Cyclic? Great Video BTW.
Really good video. I think I’m sold on getting the H160. Just one question though. Would I need to use one of the GTN750 units for GPS navigation? Presumably other Garmin units are not used in this helicopter. Thanks.
Excellent. Many people put out good videos but poorly narrated. They speak as if they are conversing quietly in their living room. I'll be getting the 160 probably next month. I've had the 145 since it was released.

Standing by for the “Finally something other than the EFB” comments
@@forky8079 did you mean….know? And you think he would pick some one who just puts up travel videos? Dream on

a very nice review of this aircraft, thanks so much

As a self-certified professional flight simulation simmer pilot, this looks cool.
😂
Outstanding! Might add it to the collection. Plan doing any big jet shared cockpit content?
Extracted some useful tips for flying my sim helicopters from this. Much appreciated!
Hel-i-cop-ter A million parts rotating rapidly around an oil leak waiting for metal fatigue to set in…
Yea no thanks.. they just beat the air enough to float. If shit hits the fan.. it’s pretty much game over.
@@Vandantcyclone lol naive.
You know they say, never fly in anything that the wing moves faster than the Fuselage.
Better at than I am for sure. I might have to read up about it a little. I might have to call on my H145 skills to start with.

Hat off for a review where some (even very minor) flaws are shown within the first 2 minutes.
Respect.
Nice of them to include the tablet at launch. Reminiscent of the aerosoft crj and fenix a320 in that aspect.
Very impressive H160 demo! Thanks very much! A question: what are your Assisted Tail Rotor and Cyclic settings in MSFS?
amazing helicopter , got to get it
Luxurious powerful machine
Hopefully they will add some oil platforms so we can start operating some flights towards them with this amazing addon!
You can get the Aerosoft offshore package. It’s great!
@@harrywg1114definitely gonna check that out!
Great video emi, have you ever flown helicopters irl ?
A problem I have with the h145 is when I disconnect the autopilot I have no control of the cyclic would you happen to know what I’m doing wrong?

Hello, how I can switch on the anti ice system? Flying in cold condition become problem, when your windshield is iced. Thanks.

Great video as usual!
Can't wait for upcoming Mi-17 and AH-64
Is there a reason to wheel taxi vs hover taxi?
Help on hover mode to landing technique

Yes, a GTN750 is needed. The freeware PMS50 will do though, you don't need to get a payware unit.
Thanks for the reply. Keep up with the videos. They’re great.
I had no idea some Helicopters do their taxi and takeoff like this.
My son was a CH-53 Crew Chief. He said they did take off and land rolling sometimes. He would often taxi it as Crew Chief.
Hey I wanted to ask you about HS B787-9. If Pmdg 737s are 10 what will you rate HS B787-9?
great vid brother
Thanks for the visit!
Excelente maquina.
they still have not replaced 'scary Mary'? Sheesh.
funny how this efb is more extensive than the pmdgs

I’ll never trust helicopters..
