    Just a heads up, Fleshgod Apocalypse just shared this video on their Facebook page asking if anyone knew who this was. I think they want to talk to you so you may want to message them on their Facebook page. They were blown away at how perfect this is. You may want to ask if you can be a guest guitarist at the next show they play in your town!

    Thanks for your comment! What I think sounds best (and what I believe I did in this vid) is to use fairly light palm muting on the two lowest strings during the verse riff. In principle though I think you should experiment and do whatever you think sounds great with your equipment, gain settings, etc. :)

    I am actually glad someone beat me to covering this.
    Works as motivation, you know.
    Good job, by the way, lad! \m/

    If you look up the specs on the ESP website you will find that it comes with ESP LH-301 pickups. They are often labeled EMG-ESP since, evidently, they were designed by EMG (but manufactured by ESP). I reckon they are similar to the EMG HZ pickups. Note also that these are passive pickups; if you have slightly more to spend you could go for the EX-400 which has active EMG 81 pickups.

    Thank you! Tuning is B standard. Guitar is an LTD EX-260, which is a very nice and affordable guitar. I can definitely recommend it if you're looking to buy a decent guitar without spending too much money.

    I mostly use straight alternate picking so that I begin with a down-stroke when going both up and down a string. It's just become a habit for me, but it's possible that directional picking will let you switch strings more smoothly when you've learned it properly. What technique to use ultimately depends on your personal preference, so I suggest you try both and figure out what suits you. :)

    That was a flawless cover. I have a question for you if you don't mind. On the tremolo picking parts are you palm muting at all? And if so, where and when in the song are you doing this? I ask because I can't find a tab that states if it is or not. Any input would be appreciated thanks!

    Fucking killer dude.... Loved it. And your Hour of Penance shirt. Quick questions though..... What tuning is this? Drop Bb? And what LTD are you playing through? I'd like to get one....

    Hello, I had another quick question if thats cool? Going back to tremolo picking (and not just this song) do you use directional picking when tremolo picking across different strings? Like in this song on the first tremolo picking park and through out when you go from say the 6th string up to the 5th back up to the 6th, do you start the 6th with an upstroke? Im just never should if I should be always straight alt. pick with tremolo or directional.

    Okay, would you say to wrest your palm on the saddles of the strings on the bridge?

  • @VinceJDII
    @VinceJDII 12 років тому

    Hey I also have another quick question, are you playing sixteenth notes with the tremolo picking? Is the whole song straight 4 notes per beat tremolo? Cant seem to find a tab that clarifies. Thanks!

    It looks and sounds solid.... Do you happen to know what pickups it has in it?

      Cool! It's a really nice guitar. :)

    Yes, but just lightly. If you experiment a little you will find that depending on the pressure you apply with your palm you will get varying degrees of muting.
