    You have a big blue spark Malc ! Well done ! About the valve noise, the rockers going sideways and make that noise ! The solution is to put a shim between the rocker and the distance bush, but they need to move freely with no endplay ! I did the same with the camschaft !

      Thanks again mate. It wasn't valve noise, but the intermittent wind blowing into the camera. Anyway we'll give it a run with the rocker top off and have a look.

      Thought it had a weak spark Lloyd, I was wrong. Slight improvement so worth it.

    Nice job, that’s got to be one of the best running Listers on UA-cam!

    Nicely done Malc...the spark is definitely looking better now mate. Sorry, I've been missing lately...I'm just catching up with what you've been getting up to

      No probs Andy, we all have to do that. But when you get to the dyno video, I think you're going to like it. Seems that all I'm doing these days is playing with this engine for a few moments.

      Ha ha. Luckily the mag works better than it looks. And at least now we know it is the plugs that are the problem.

    Hi Malc. Soon after the engine started, there seemed to be a spark below the HT lead, about 3-4 inches back from the plug? What was it? Regards, Mark.

      Hi Mark. Just had a look at that's the chain that drives the mag. So it must be a reflection of the light on the links. Cheers Mate.

    Hi Malc can you do a video on how the rocker grease mechanism works please.

    • @MalcOfLincoln
      @MalcOfLincoln  5 років тому

      Yes, I'll include it in the one I'm doing on setting the tappets. However it's very simple. The cap is filled with grease and when screwed on, pushes some into the hole in the middle of the shaft.

    Hello MalcOfLincon! I'm from Argentina and I'm repearing my Lucas RS1 magneto. Could you tell me the technical characteristics or capacity of the condenser you used in your video? thaks a lot!

      Hello. Really sorry but I can't, however if you go onto ebay and type in the search 'condenser for Lister D' you should get the correct one. I did.

      Cheers Dean. Really chuffed with the mag now. Thought that might? be the weak link, and they cost half as much as another engine.
