    Inside of the mind of Hsiang. He is one of the EUC communities gems. The education provided made me appreciate the EUC even more. I had no idea of the finer details that gave birth to what I know and love. A EUC archivable edition must have that will be referenced for the next generations to come.

Full balancing would likely open rental markets too if the learning curve were short enough - and that could be a game changer. The Chinese are not overly fond of the Japanese for historical reasons. The west have imported japanese production philosophies ("Lean" the Toyota idea) and turned it into a religion. tis a laff really. The cost of Japanese efficiency is: No Freedom, lotsa suicides and now health workers in the west are compared with Japanese assembley workers, how sick is that? Great discussion, really appreciate you both for doing it. A few rapid fire points. Audio is always more important than video (your audio was very nice and clean). In fact, video distracts from great conversations, (obviously you can do both in one recording). I'm sure you know about the brick wall room echo, not really an issue, didn't bother me and I listened on two different sets of speakers (one being a pro set) to judge what I thought of it, and in fact may have given a bit of depth to the conversation. If it bothers you or your listeners, you can treat the space. There are tons of videos on this for ideas.
    On the discussion itself there was lots of stuff I could opine on but I wanted to limit to one for the moment. I'm not a EUC enthusiast on the level of you two but it is not casual for me either. I use my wheels (have three now) for commuting and work. The wheel has radically altered my transportation and work flow as a transportation industry professional (used to be an audio tech hence the comments on that). My opinion is that anyone who needs to transport themselves a lot in a few mile radius of work or home is going to find a wheel a life changing machine.
    A EUC is far more portable than any other form of transportation with the exception of a kick (non EV) scooter and far more powerful than that kind of scooter. I've already gotten at least a dozen people at work and home intrigued enough by the wheel to ask me about it which I enjoy talking about. And of course plenty of strangers to. As long as we are all great ambassadors I think the future is the wheel but I'm very conscious of people who will get upset and complain resulting in very unwanted legislation. This is why I've always made a point to warn NYC riders about this when they are pushing far past the limits in traffic, you know who you are... I slow down drastically around pedestrians, acknowledge their presence and thank them for moving over, etc etc.
    Okay thanks again!

    • @kmg501
      @kmg501 3 роки тому

      @@lefotografion Sadly Germany is going through quite a bad period (in my view) for authoritarianism. That said your experience is why I always make a point to bang the drum about being a good will ambassador around others. The wheel is new and potentially very threatening to others because we can and frequently do operate on side walks. It also won't help if we operate on streets in ways that upset automotive drivers. This is one of the reasons I advocate for and wear high visibility gear.

    I have both the FM OneWheel Pint and an Inmotion V8F, assuming both are limited in speed to 15mph, the V8F is really much safer. Getting off if something goes wrong at slow speeds is much more intuitive on the V8F. Speed makes the EUC unsafe without serious gear.

    It's easy, power equals tension in Volt multiplied with the current in Ampère so P=U X I
    To have te same amount of power but with less current ( thus smaller section of wires can be used) the Voltage need to be raised.
    This is basic formula for direct current. For alternating current it's similar but the formula is getting more complicated and not needed for the explanation 😁

    I am not green (don't agree) with Hsiang statement that the first wheel will determine your riding style for every wheel.
    Because you have to relearn every wheel. Some wheels will not work with a specific stands. So either the rider change or the rider chooses a different wheel. And of course if needed the wheel can be modified.

    Seriously someone needs to get Elon Musk on an euc I bet if he learned he would for sure make one and if I could see anyone pulling it off, it would be him. Maybe integrate some sort of in car charging system so you could take it along. Pop it in the trunk where a spare tire would otherwise be or something.
    Also I can't help but wonder whether euc's will go the route of esk8 's with diy/open-source builds becoming the most popular. With diy/open source seems to me you could more easily have euc's that have parts from all over rather then primarily from China.

Like the ones that make your iPhone or the networking hardware that makes watching this youtube video possible? Many of them come from poor, rural towns and consider themselves lucky to have obtained relatively high-paying jobs in the city. By US standards, the working conditions can be dismal, but if they were assembled in the US or another country with a similar standard of living, they would cost a lot more.
