I made a hat with Yarn Over New York I got at Knitty City at 2023 yarn crawl. The Artist that dyes that yarn was at that yarn store on upper West side Sunday. My favorite yarn store is Argyle. I like to knit with there own hand dyed yarn Luminous Brooklyn. It works great with some of Purl Soho patterns. During Brooklyns 2024 yarn crawl, I went to new yarn store called Cleo’s. Hedgehog Fibers is nice yarn, and I made a reversible cable scarf with that yarn I got at Argyle.
I live near all the Brooklyn yarn shops. Each place has something different. Each store is my favorite for different reasons. I love how you pick yarn colors for your project.🥰
Loving the tag along shopping. Local vendors are always so nice because you build such a personal relationship.

Hi, I only found you today, but Ive loved your tour of a knitting shop in NY!! I'm in Brisbane (semi tropical) but we do travel so I need items to warm me up. So, Im starting to knit after no knitting for over 35 years....I loved the colours you bought to knit, (I'm a patchworker really) do show us once you have finished them. thanks Marietta (a retired teacher too
Welcome to New York! Thanks for showing Brooklyn General. I’ve been meaning to go myself. Also nice to know String Thing has a backyard! They’ve always been my go to local shop. Also love eating ramen at Danbo next door. I recommend checking out Brooklyn Craft Company in Greenpoint. And also whenever Purl Soho opens back up their store front is so decadent. I love treating myself there.
That was so much fun. I love the yarn you chose. I love the pink too. Im.too old now to walk amd take buses or the subway. But im loving watching you guys!! Lol
I was actually in the city visiting my daughter at the time of the crawl. but didn't go. She is trying to downsize to fit into her apartment better, and it would not have been very nice of me to buy new yarn! I ended up taking a huge suitcase stuffed with her yarn back to Wisconsin with me! I'm glad I could go on the crawl virtually with you!

Take the A subway train to Brooklyn Heights, and get out at first stop High Street. Cut through apartment buildings to Henry Street, then walk down Henry to Atlantic Ave to Woolyn. Make a point to go to Cranberries on Henry street for Blue berry or cranberry scone, the best.
Stitch together is a dyer local to me. I love her color sense. Enjoy and looking forward to seeing what you make with it.

Hi, I just found your video today, you mentioned the occasional flashing lights (also seeing at night)… I’m an optometrist, you should have your eyes tested and have a dilated fundus examination. Flashing lights can be symptom of something pulling on the retina, especially if you’re quite short sighted. Anyway, I’m enjoying watching you buy yarns on your yarn crawl 😄.

Wow, I haven't watched in awhile, so had no idea you moved to NYC...I'll have to catch up. Felicia of String Thing is one of my favorite people! I live in Connecticut and go into the city to go to String Thing. Well I spent a lot of time in Brooklyn as a kid visiting my aunt. I've been to all the stores...I went to the yarn crawl a couple years ago. I have missed going into NY since Covid...welcome to the East Coast...and Connecticut has some great LYS if you ever want to come this way..(You can take the train and I'll meet you, especially in the summer...I'm a teacher too...17.5 days left!)

I really enjoyed this video! I often watch the videos wail working as background noise, so when you have talking parts I can just listen rather then having to watch, which I fell is often the issue with vlogs and I have to save them for lunch break or afterwork. I would love to see a little more non-knitting things, like what else you did. I think a cookie is crafting related!

Those yarn stores are amazing!! I’m so jealous. I don’t have a lys. I live in a small town in California, and we have a “craft” store, with a small section of yarn. And all the yarn is stuff you can buy online. They don’t have any locally dyed yarn or anything like that. This was a great video. Thanks for sharing!! 🌸🌸🌸

I find it Interesting that very few yarn dyers are making green yarns. All four shops had very little in green.
I’m in NYC now and we went to Woolyn yesterday! Such a cute little shop. My #yarnhusband came along. I also went to Knitty City today and they were so sweet! I recommend. It’s in Manhattan (I believer, I’m not a New Yorker)!
The bright flashing light look for the telescope across the way I get dizzy just looking at those open windows I can't stay in Heights liquor lived in New York for 10 years while I was in college and working there all I could afford was like a basement in Brooklyn Brooklyn general is one of my safe places that I used to get yarn I believe i'm not sure if it was that particular store but there was a store similar to that in around 1969 probably not the same people but places to shop in Brooklyn Freon and materials best place ever get out of the city and go to Brooklyn Ocean Avenue and Avenue J is where I lived and walk up the road and up there they should still be there
