I think that although this has 9 less games, it still has much more content since the nes had mostly arcade style games that are pretty hard and short but the snes has mostly full length classic games that can take many hours to beat
I never experienced the snes, as I was born in the ds-Wii generation, but I am hyped for this. Yeah, I was just thinking that myself. Chrono-Trigger really should have been there instead of Kirby's Dream Course. Still, it's a pretty stellar list overall, and I can't really complain about it--other than the fact I'd have liked there to be 30 games. With 30 games Nintendo could have included the likes of Chrono-Trigger, Killer Instinct, Super Bomberman, Turtles in Time, Actraiser, Super Aleste, Mortal Kombat 2, Super Tennis, U.N. I still can't believe how good this line up is! Ok I'm showing my age as I actually still own all these games apart from the obvious StarFox/Wing2 and Mario RPG as it never arrived for the SNES in the UK or Europe. Im 34 and like a kid at Christmas Im that excited, I have Mario RPG on the WiiU but cant wait to play it on "SNES" hardware with SNES pads, and two pads straight out the box is fantastic. But the cherry on the cake for me is without doubt StarFox2, an official release by Nintendo, Im still in total shock, I was so so gutted as a 13-14 year old in 95 when it was canned and I never, ever thought it would see the light of day outside the holy doors of Nintendo HQ in Kyoto! Add Mario RPG (for UK gamers!) to that and you've a sure fire hit and without question, a total must have! Those two games alone for me make it worth every penny of the £79.99 asking price! Nintendo are smashing it right now, Im a gamer and love games what ever console there on, but it has to be said that my XboxOne hasn't seen power so far in 2017 and the PS4 has only seen about an hour at a push since March and thats only to get my Street Fighter 5 and King Of Fighters 14 fix my Switch on the other hand has hardly been off! Now I no the SNES mini hasn't even arrived yet... but... a Nintendo 64 mini... mark my words, it'll happen, and... WOW! MJ
Thanks for this great rundown. I came from a fairly modest background so Nintendo was well out of my reach as a child. The chance to play these games now is beyond appealing. Thankyou.
James Foxworth He refers to the "Mini "concept. The Nes and Snes were smallet to take them where you want. But the GBA is already a portable console, making it smaller it's almost impossible. It should be a GBA classic Edition or collection. Still, we mes N64 Mini first, and i Think that will be released on 2019 or 2020.
Ichabaud Craine To me It felt unusual going from directional pad to analog stick when the N64 came out. I somehow liked the challenge of feel of sharp turns in SNES mario kart.
Just bought this yesterday.I am now playing games before my time and they are really entertaining. Also it's a great console for the whole family to enjoy

Castlevania IV stuck in the past? have you not played the originals? super ghouls and ghosts is known as being a vastly easier game then Ghouls and ghosts? star fox one of the first 3d console games? really?
No offense Alex, but I actually have to agree with addisonox. To be giving Nintendo news, yet not playing FFVI or Secret of Mana doesn't make sense to me. Since news of the SNES Mini has emerged, I've been so disappointed to hear that so many people who are giving Nintendo news have never touched any of the Squaresoft games, or can't understand why SFII Turbo is on there.
addisonox that's what I was thinking. He must be young or something. When he said he didn't know much about Contra, I was like WTF. The way he talks about the games is with almost no nostalgia like he wasn't around (or old enough) at the time.
In this case though, it is rather odd for someone with a channel called "Nintendo Life" who reports on a news item has not played or doesn't understand some of these games. 1st off, I think it's kind of mandatory to do some research when talking about things and secondly, there is a reason they chose these specific games to put on the snes mini and most nintendo fans would get why.
I'm surprised you know so little about Super NES games. This is part of the golden age of Nintendo. You gotta sit down and play these games if you want to deserve the name Nintendo Life.
I guess when your signed on with a UA-cam Nintendo partnership, your not allowed to dislike anything, therefore you can only make very stale, predictable videos.
Wish it had Chrono Trigger...then it would have my most memorable snes titles....super mario world...super metroid(metroid to nes was my 1st and loved it)...zelda...donkey kong country.....ff3....i miss all the ff games...it was so hard to get ur hands on the lower number ff's...i had almost all and beat almost all till i think 8 or 9....such good flippin games back in the day....those alone make the buy worth it....man jars some amazing childhood memories to make me not wanna really ever take life for granted its to precious and memories will always last a lifetime
so 20 games, and the narrator as played like 4 maybe 5 of them? seriously, fire them up and play for like 15 minutes or something. or get someone who has played most of them.
I really really hope that this thing gets released with downloadable access codes to load a shit more games onto the system. Including the other DKC games, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, some sports titles, among others. I'm not so much disappointed, as I'm surprised it even this had less than the NES classic.
Tit Maus i stopped with Nintendo after GameCube. Yheir game quality went to shit on the N64 and GameCube and by then the console 3D graphics war was well on the way. I could never touch a WII.
As the host of a channel called "Nintendo Life", you should really do yourself a favor and expand your video game knowledge. I'm baffled by how many of these games you haven't played.
Seriously good line up. Only 21 games but they're some of the best it had to offer, BTW Mario cart was brilliant because it was so hard and unforgiving, so when you did master it it was so satisfying
“I haven’t played most of these games and I haven’t bothered to read up on them; nevertheless here’s a 15 minute long list of them, raking up add revenue for my lazy butt. Nevertheless nevertheless nevertheless.”
2017 is without a doubt the year of Nintendo. Two new Metroids, Super SNES and now with a game we've never played of Star Fox. Yay people, senpai noticed us. Metroid and Star Fox 2! Finally! Something's missing? Oh yeah, F-Zero
pieman19 they have panel de pon on the japanese version. panel de pon is the japanese tetris attack. I do wonder why they have SF2 Turbo for the US but the superior Super SF 2 for the japanese version.
Dislike because of one reason: your channel is called "Nintendo Life", yet you have basically never played any of the games you're showcasing here. Seriously?
For someone who run gaming channel you sound ignorant on Snes topic, you hope that FF VI is good ? FF VI is one of the most complex JRPGs, one of the greatest video games of all time, its a masterpiece of existential nihilism...
JUSXTREME96 bro im in the PAL region , FF 6 was released originally in 1994 in Japan, since then it was ported on various systems, all NES and SNES FF games are ported and available to play , on platforms like PS1 , GBA , NDS, PSP etc. First time I played FF6 was 14 years ago on PAL PS1 , and later on moded SNES, and GBA... this guy is cool, but he had last 15 years to play snes games that was not originally released in PAL region
Especially when you consider that in the minds of most people, the SNES is the greatest Nintendo console of all-time, so some background experience is required if you intend for people to take you seriously. Worst of all, most the titles are pretty popular, and the fact that he hasn't played any of the third-party titles and even some of the first party titles is shocking.
I have the Mini SNES and the Mini NES, they're nice! My favorites on the SNES are Contra, F-Zero, and EarthBound! There's a rewind option too which can be used to complete any game with no deaths. Like say we play contra ok? Everytime you die, go out and go to the square thing, click x and you can watch a replay of you and then click start before you die. AS IF YOU CAN GO BACK TO THE PAST
Mojtaba Mortada Atleast with the SNES mini I get good games I can play on my own (name 5 switch exclusives that aren't better with friends and are out right now.)
Son Gohan Just because it was made half a year ago doesn't make it anymore worth getting for me. All I care about is what can I play on it now? And so far all I see are Zelda, that punching game no one cares about anymore, the unpolished sequel to one of the most unpolished shooters I've ever played. I can tell you right now, I'm not even going to consider buying a switch until I can see if the upcoming FE is another shitty waifu sim or not, or if the new pokemon is worth getting. Edit: Sorry for the text wall.
Was the SNES the best ever console? I honestly don't think I've enjoyed a console/games as much a I did on the SNES. Yes the N64 was amazing with games in 3d, but they were just SNES games in 3d in some respects.
Rob N I feel that in terms of the gaming industry as a whole the SNES was the golden age of all video games. The peak of creativity, innovation, and love and care put into its games. In my opinion, anyway. I think Chrono Trigger (which should have been on here) is the best game of all time, but I wasn't even alive to see the SNES, so. . .
dude i got one a couple weeks ago i spent 200 fuckin dollars at the mall and come to find out it was a knock off one...but it works amazing and not only that mine came with over 3000 games instead of only 21. LOL the only thing is it only came with one controller so i went in the very next day after i bought it and was like "hey man i just bought this yesterday and i thought it was supposed to come with 2 controllers?" and the guy immediately went to the case, without asking for a receipt or anything and literally just gave me one no problem at all! This freaking place is the best man seriously! I FUCKIN LOVE MY SNES MINI!!!!!! all these years have went by and i literally never thought i'd be able to play all those snes games i grew up with and loved as a kid. but now i can i literally have fuckin every game that there ever was!!
I’m not sure why, since I’ve never played either game, but something about Undertales Aesthetic has always reminded me of what I’ve seen of Earthbound.
I didn't have an SNES growing up. I had a Sega Genesis (which I loved also) but I feel hands down that the SNES is the greatest gaming console, the golden age of games, the best titles in gaming history for respected franchises can be found here. Polished upgrades of previous NES entries like Zelda and Metroid are improved here. I feel like no console defines gaming more. Kirby Super Star is my fave on the console but there are so many games for SNES!! Some that didn't come to the west either! 20 games is a HUGE shame tbh. Chrono Trigger, the other DK games, the Dragon Quest titles, Tales of Phantasia, Terranigma, Secret of Mana & Seiken Densetsu 3, Metal Warriors, Harvest Moon, Cybernator, Clock Tower, etc etc etc. I wish they would put more than 20 games on this! Especially for 80 FREAKING dollars.
Everyone's sat in the office for the daily briefing. Nintendo Life video editor asks: "who has the least amount of SNES knowledge, has never played any of the games to show and not willing to do any research"? Alex puts his hand up. Video editor: "you're up for the SNES mini games video. Do what you like".
I switch between Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island being my favourite games of all time, depending on the day--today I'm going to give the title to Yoshi's Island. And I totally agree about how good it looks; it is a literal work of art. Also--and this is by about a million miles--it's the best of the Yoshi games by far.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors would have been better to add instead of Mario: RPG! I am sure most would agree! Great video, explanation & detail of all of these games!
SNES MINI - 'But Nevertheless' Edition.

yea cant wait to play earthbound. i main ness in smash and hes really made me intrested in earthbound
Sure, but that doesn't make me feel any better whatsoever that we have 33% less games now for 33% more money.
inceptional then you are lost!
And one day I will be found. . . .
PeanutButterSan The Sandwich awesome story! (not sarcasm!)

Nice 😁👌

Can't wait for the Philips CDi Classic Mini.

Who else was triggered that he played only the first 5 minutes of every game?
I was triggered i guess you could say i was Chrono Triggered
I'm not even sorry with that pun

Ha! Half of his reviews were "I haven't played it, but I heard it's good."
I’m grabbing one soon. Most of the reason I am is so I can experience Mario RPG. I crave that nostalgia that so many have for this game
I like your commentary but i wish there was a bit more indepth knowledge than oh this is weird game or this is a good game...
All my favorite games from my childhood!
Seriously, how the hell can you not have played Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting? :-o
Ppoo0
I'm surprised you know so little about Super NES games. This is part of the golden age of Nintendo. You gotta sit down and play these games if you want to deserve the name Nintendo Life.
What kind of nintendo fan are you then??
I have an old SNES with about half these games. They picked pretty good for the most part.
I guess when your signed on with a UA-cam Nintendo partnership, your not allowed to dislike anything, therefore you can only make very stale, predictable videos.
@Fluds Othree 21*
Just got one this morning. They had like a million of them at Best Buy.
Shame both Game and Nintendo official store are sold out of preorders already. The scalpers win again.
Wish it had Chrono Trigger...then it would have my most memorable snes titles....super mario world...super metroid(metroid to nes was my 1st and loved it)...zelda...donkey kong country.....ff3....i miss all the ff games...it was so hard to get ur hands on the lower number ff's...i had almost all and beat almost all till i think 8 or 9....such good flippin games back in the day....those alone make the buy worth it....man jars some amazing childhood memories to make me not wanna really ever take life for granted its to precious and memories will always last a lifetime
so 20 games, and the narrator as played like 4 maybe 5 of them? seriously, fire them up and play for like 15 minutes or something. or get someone who has played most of them.
i though that this was only an idea when the nes classic came out and now its real and im so happy
I really really hope that this thing gets released with downloadable access codes to load a shit more games onto the system. Including the other DKC games, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, some sports titles, among others. I'm not so much disappointed, as I'm surprised it even this had less than the NES classic.
Reliving my teenage years and I want it!!
this man probably only plays wii games
Tit Maus i stopped with Nintendo after GameCube. Yheir game quality went to shit on the N64 and GameCube and by then the console 3D graphics war was well on the way.
I could never touch a WII.
Wish we also had MegaMan X3! That wicked awesome heavy metal inspired soundtrack 👍🏻 fits MMX series so well!
MK 2
joshua s much better than Street Fighter 2
Im only 13 but still getting this because I really want to experience these games. Excited for Earthbound because I've heard so much about it.
As the host of a channel called "Nintendo Life", you should really do yourself a favor and expand your video game knowledge. I'm baffled by how many of these games you haven't played.
Seriously good line up. Only 21 games but they're some of the best it had to offer,
BTW Mario cart was brilliant because it was so hard and unforgiving, so when you did master it it was so satisfying
“I haven’t played most of these games and I haven’t bothered to read up on them; nevertheless here’s a 15 minute long list of them, raking up add revenue for my lazy butt. Nevertheless nevertheless nevertheless.”
Nevertheless!
2017 is without a doubt the year of Nintendo. Two new Metroids, Super SNES and now with a game we've never played of Star Fox. Yay people, senpai noticed us. Metroid and Star Fox 2! Finally!
Something's missing? Oh yeah, F-Zero
Talk about clueless video, how about reading up atleast on all the games. "Oh I have no clue about this game... ehh but I heard great things about it"
Final Fantasy fucking 3. its 6
Final Fantasy VI is the best ff ever. You are gonna love it!
I stopped the Video when I heard "I've never played FF 3 before".
Vic Samo blasphemy of the highest grade.
Don't blame him. Blame Nintendo and Square for not releasing it in PAL territories.
God forbid someone hasn’t played every game in existence.
because it wasn't released in PAL region, ffs
Ruudos it was released in Europe on the PS1 and the GBA. Granted, that was many years after the original release. But still it was released in Europe.
Oh man the starfox music, so good.
I NEED YOSHI'S COOKIE!!!
Yoshi's Safari needs the Super Scope 6 to work and Tetris Attack won't be re-released due to licensing issues
pieman19 they have panel de pon on the japanese version. panel de pon is the japanese tetris attack. I do wonder why they have SF2 Turbo for the US but the superior Super SF 2 for the japanese version.
SPOOCE CHANNEL!!! Love that game
the game line up is incredible and I'm lucky to have one on pre order.
Dislike because of one reason: your channel is called "Nintendo Life", yet you have basically never played any of the games you're showcasing here. Seriously?
Ok but shhh now geek feeb!
I love retro games and i love Nintendo,I am so happy that i have a pre order by BOL, now 3 months wait.
For someone who run gaming channel you sound ignorant on Snes topic, you hope that FF VI is good ? FF VI is one of the most complex JRPGs, one of the greatest video games of all time, its a masterpiece of existential nihilism...
chupathrash87 im assuming he's in the pal region where they didnt have final fantasy until 7 on ps1.
JUSXTREME96 bro im in the PAL region , FF 6 was released originally in 1994 in Japan, since then it was ported on various systems, all NES and SNES FF games are ported and available to play , on platforms like PS1 , GBA , NDS, PSP etc. First time I played FF6 was 14 years ago on PAL PS1 , and later on moded SNES, and GBA... this guy is cool, but he had last 15 years to play snes games that was not originally released in PAL region
chupathrash87 true
ikr, this guy is a fucking noob. don't know what he's talking about
Especially when you consider that in the minds of most people, the SNES is the greatest Nintendo console of all-time, so some background experience is required if you intend for people to take you seriously.
Do you get all six life’s back too on contra?
You can get a better deal with the Switch tbh.
Mojtaba Mortada Atleast with the SNES mini I get good games I can play on my own (name 5 switch exclusives that aren't better with friends and are out right now.)
MrRedGreenBlue1 You can't really compare a system that actually barely has half a year to a console that was made decades ago.
Edit: Sorry for the text wall.
all my favorite games in one LOVE IT!!!
This has got to be the worst review ever..
Dom Carson then why are you here?
rountree but he is here nevertheless. maybe he was here to watch something before buying instead of being a fan of the reviewer. pretty simple.
I thought that when he was talking about Earthbound. He was like "cba to explain this, just go play it". I was like ummm what??
Thx man was wanting this for xmas but wanted to know what was on it first and after i watch your video now u got me begging my mom for it 😂
Chrono Trigger?????
n21james1 I had the orginal snes version and it got stolen sad day indeed
I’m not sure why, since I’ve never played either game, but something about Undertales Aesthetic has always reminded me of what I’ve seen of Earthbound.
I prefer regular Super Nintendo 🖕
Daniel oh boo hoo oh well then go play the original you whining baby
Cyber foxy Gamer SuperNova 😎I will
not everybody can afford an original super nes, and a collection of games this is just a great cheap substitute
Secret of Mana is an awesome game! This is a great line up, I've never played Earthbound and Starfox so excited!!!
You should make a video about that...
"Nintendo life". yeah more like i bought a wii instead of an xbox (like everyone) life. play those games men.
ariel velasco I have all the systems and I play Nintendo the most.
me too, and this dude not. you get it?
I was into my Beat em ups back then . Sf2 turbo and super punch out for me.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors would have been better to add instead of Mario: RPG! I am sure most would agree! Great video, explanation & detail of all of these games!
