Great series. Really enjoying it. Looking forward to your next one. Very timely as I’m hoping to model a PRS Hollowbody II in the coming weeks
Fantastic tutorials thanks so much
Glad you're enjoying it and hope you subscribe.
@@bweissvt For sure & watching all these guitar tutorials ;)
Hallo! I ran into the same issue with the patch. How did you solve the problem?
There are a few problems you can run into. 1) Turn off enable chaining in the Patch dialog. 2) Make sure you can select all the necessary edges. If you can't, try holding down the left button to select from the "drill-down" menu. 3) If you still can't select an edge, or if the patch simply fails, go back to your 3D sketch and make sure your splines intersect with the end points (that one has gotten me several times).
I am having an issue making a surface patch similar to others. At around 29 minutes, there is a point where Body 2 turned into a surface body and not sure how. It is not letting me patch as it is giving me a surface patch error stating "Modeling error. cannot create tool body, check inputs. I am able to select all 5 edges and the preview seems ok, but then when I hit ok it states the error. Any help is appreciated.
Its been a while since I made the PRS video series, but I think the errors occur when there's no intersection between the 3 splines and the headstock and neck. I would suggest editing that sketch, deleting the splines and re-creating them. Let me know if this works.
It seems that there was a cut at 28:37 which hides some progress. There are 3 new operations, a new sketch and a new surface object. This is exactly at the point where I am having trouble with the patch so I would appreciate it if you could tell us what you did there.
I think the issue that I went back and fixed was the inability to select a part of the rail that's a section of the neck. If your segment is not selectable, make a vertical line on the cut neck face and do a split face.
@@bweissvt Thanks for the quick response. Is there any tip you could give me for the patch problem? I made sure to disable Chain Linking, I made the splines exactly as you did, I tried selecting everything in every possible order, I rebuilt the entire project from scratch to no success. I can't carry on with the tutorial and frankly I would like to know what I'm doing wrong. It would be of great help if you could help me with this.
@@toxillo I'll make a short video that shows how to split the face to allow you to select the segment for the patch.
@@bweissvt Thank you, I really do appreciate the time.
@@bweissvt I managed to do it. I looked at your Telecaster video and it worked. Not sure what the problem was but as long as it works..
I keep getting an error on the patch. Says can’t create patch toolbody, please check inputs
Did you disable the "Enable Chaining" checkbox in the patch dialog? Also check to see that your sketches properly intersect at the necessary points.
@@bweissvt I have the same exact problem. I already made sure that "Enable Chaining" is disabled. I'm not sure about checking for intersection but the points have the exact position of where they should be. The loft is working just fine but trying to patch the loft together with the headstock and neck gives me this error.
When will the next part of the build be ready?
Sorry for the delay. I hope to carve out some time next week for the body video.
@@benweiss897 Hi Ben. Do you have an idea when the next instalment might be uploaded? Many thanks Mark
@@markscheiner3952 Hi Mark: I starting working on the next video (the body) today and hope to have the video done by end of week. Sorry for the delay.
@@benweiss897 many thanks Ben
