Wheel of Time as one book is fair and also unfair lol. I like both of your picks. Really looking forward to starting the Christopher Ruoccio books. Working on Hobb’s Realm this year.
I wasn't expecting this video, but I'm glad new things are starting to appear on this channel. I encourage you to do more different things, but enough to not lose your identity. 👍 (I support the idea of having votes/polls for future readings on the UA-cam community page, for example 😉)
My reading year so far hasn't been great. Things just haven't been hitting as they normally would and i don't know why. Most of my favorites so far are comics. I especially recommend Castle in the Stars by Alex Alice. It's an alternate history sci-fi story that's basically what if humans reached the moon 100 years earlier than they did and the artwork is absolutely stunning. There's currently 6 volumes out in French, 4 of which have been translated to English. I need more people to read this!
@@thefairylibrarian3282 sorry to hear your reading hear hasn’t been great so far, it’s always tough when I feel like I’m in a slump like that. I usually try and read comics or manga if that’s happening and I’ve never heard of Castle in the Stars but I googled it and I love the art style! Onto the TBR it goes
Someone asked me just today what my favorite WOT book is, which was a deer-in-headlights yet again. I've reread the whole series a lot, & they really blend together into one super long story, though I still love the very beginning when they are just setting out on their adventure. Actually my favorite Lord Of the Rings book is the Fellowship of the Ring, especially fir the first parts while they are leaving the Shire, again setting off on their adventure. I'll definitely have to try out Divine Rivals. EVERYONE seems to be reading it in my usual corner of booktube, but for some reason it never sounded appealing to me, but it does sound like maybe I might like it. :)
@@jamiebbooks I agree, when people are able to just jump into a conversation about WOT and can pinpoint when specific things happen in specific books I’m very impressed, that’s not how my mind works. There are some moments from some books that I specifically remember as belonging to that book, but mostly it’s just the story as a whole. If you read divine rivals let us know what you think!
I am almost 60% into Ship of Destiny, so it won't make my top books list for the first half of 2024, but it is good so far. I'm liking the serpents and dragons a lot more than I expected to. I still am more intrigued by the Fool though, so I'm looking forward to getting to more of his story in future books in the series. I just recorded a top books video for the first half of the year, and narrowed my list down to 'only' 29 books, but my top 4 are probably Babel(RF Kuang), Apartment Women(Gu Byeong Mo), Murder on the Interstellar Express(Gregory D. Little) and Familiaris(David Wroblewski).
@@jamiebbooks glad you’re enjoying Ship of Destiny! I’m also really intrigued by the fool, very excited to get more of them in future books. I have heard only good things about Babel so I’m definitely planning to read it at some point. I haven’t heard of those others though, I’ll have to check them out!
