Right after watching this video, i ran to the attic to grab one of my childhood favorites and i just reread it. It's a series called Martine. It's a Belgian children's book series about this little girl who has very ordinary, slice of life little adventures and i loved them. My two favorites were the one where she is invited to a dress-up party and has to find a costume (that's the one i just reread) and the one where she goes to ballet class. That second one is the whole reason i did ballet as a child. I loved them so much and rereading one of them was just wonderful
The book that encouraged me to read more was Coraline, I already loved the film and when I discovered the existence of the book I had to have it right away. Today we are in a strange situation where the author of Coraline is surrounded by controversy and we don't know the truth of everything, but I am grateful that one of his books pushed me into the world of books. Honorable mention: Percy Jackson, that's my "Harry Potter" 😂😂
@@lucasoliver2571 absolutely, you can still be grateful for the work. I feel like there is a whole generation of readers who would say Percy Jackson is their Harry Potter and I love that

This was nice! I’m a rare fantasy-loving millennial who never read Harry Potter, but I’m watching the movies now and realizing how great it is.
@@tayking1256 o my god you’re a unicorn, truly the rarest of fantasy fans

It wasn't a book but an author who encouraged me to read more was Jane Austen, she helped me get into reading and she shaped my taste for books.
@@MariaOzienedeOliveiraOliveira you have very good taste, Liz loves Jane Austen
