Here is some unsolicited advice from a middle aged mom who has been through it: Let your moms/sister/SIL throw you a small baby shower with just the family. It’s more of a celebration for them. They are excited to have new babies in the family and want to show you the love. ❤ Plus you might get some items you never thought of that you’ll love.
For future mature disagreements…Shane, once you speak your truth, you must let Ryland do the same. Don’t tell him ‘no one cares’ about his side of the story after you’ve spent 10 minutes explaining your side haha. There’s always two sides, two different views. You both deserve a voice, don’t take each others away ❤
The "fun parent" is usually just a Dad who doesn't do any chores, has no boundaries with the children, doesn't punish their kids when needed & hurts their partner by giving them too much work. Be on the same team as Ryland, not against him.

You can be a fun parent and still be a supportive partner and parent to your kids. I'm the "easy" parent but I do most of the chores, take my kids to all appointments, super involved in their school (PTA mom lol), and support all my partners (dads) "rules" but hey I'm still the fun one sneaking them out for ice cream and McDonald's lol..PS I'm the mom so not always the dad.

OKAYYY I am soooo here for this. Just an hour of shane and ryland talking ugh YES. I LOVED when Jenna and Julien had a podcast because they were one of my fave UA-cam couples back then. There is something so special about your favorite people making a podcast because you can just listen to them talk for so long 🥺🥺 it makes me feel so much less alone and makes me feel like I have my favorite people around me when I'm lonely LOL Sad I know. But it makes me feel so much less alone in this big world.
I would suggest definitely staying in Colorado when the babies arrive. New borns can tell you when they are cold by crying but they are less likely to react when overheating, which is a cause of SIDS. You would be better off having them in the cooler weather & you’ll have family around you which is going to be so helpful and wonderful for you all. Also, the pets will need all of that space to burn energy as your focus will be on the babies!
And also I feel like holidays are much more fun for kids in the snowy winter. All the best memories from my childhood are related to snow somehow. Sliding down the snowy hill whole evening up until you don't feel your ass and then go home and sit there slowly warming up and drinking hot evening tea with all family members around you, building snowman with parents, playing with them snow balls. Waking up in the morning one winter day and hearing "there's first snow!" and sprinting to the window to look at the snow. There's so much joy in winter for the kids!

I think most parents have different parenting styles but as long as you don’t teach them to mistreat others or not listen to the other parent, then there’s nothing wrong with it. Kids want two different types of parents to go to with their issues and do different activities with. It only becomes toxic if the parents turn the children against each other which I don’t think Shane and Ryland would. It is teamwork, overall😅😊

It’s actually so incredible to get to just “sit down with” a couple and watch them interact. I’m the type of person who fears anything I perceive as conflict, so it’s helpful to see how you can joke around and challenge each other while still showing so much love.

I love Shane and I do resonate a lot with Ryland’s perspective and lack of flexibility. HOWEVER, like anyone we should work on it and be sensitive to our partners. I feel like Shane more times than not will belittle Rylands experience , especially if Ryland isn’t feeling confident, or is trying to show how much he loves him, Shane’s insecurities come out and the response is often: “If you think that, you must’ve not liked it before” … it’s a joke sometimes, but you wouldn’t say that EVERYTIME. It’s not always “just a joke”, if it hurts rylands feelings or triggers him. Rylans knows not to joke like that; Shane seems way more sensitive than Ryland.
I think Shane’s just insecure about himself so it’s harder to accept genuine compliments from people. I have the same issue where I don’t believe people when they tell me that, but it’s a work in progress and everybody has their growth. Shane has come a long way in that department and I think it’s just an internal thing to work on. Nothing that should be put against him though or used as an insult (not saying that you are btw) 😊
Watching this made me realize that Ryland and I have the exact same personality. Like describing how I am to a tee with the games and stuff 😅 anyways, I was legit laughing out loud at this vid thank you for making my day 😇

Also, just as a suggestion, the queen herself, Dolly Parton has the Imagination Library. They send out books based on ages of the children. ❤

Hands down best sip episode. Loved seeing them so raw, it brings a whole new perspective on their relationship. Especially the part when you guys talked about flirting, you could just see the love you have for each other.

It’s actually so incredible to get to just “sit down with” a couple and watch them interact. I’m the type of person who fears anything I perceive as conflict, so it’s helpful to see how you can joke around and challenge each other while still showing so much love.

Being with the person you can be fully authentically yourself with is so important. And being able to hang out and have fun with that person is the icing on the cake. I love Shane and I do resonate a lot with Ryland’s perspective and lack of flexibility. HOWEVER, like anyone we should work on it and be sensitive to our partners. I feel like Shane more times than not will belittle Rylands experience , especially if Ryland isn’t feeling confident, or is trying to show how much he loves him, Shane’s insecurities come out and the response is often: “If you think that, you must’ve not liked it before” … it’s a joke sometimes, but you wouldn’t say that EVERYTIME. It’s not always “just a joke”, if it hurts rylands feelings or triggers him. Rylans knows not to joke like that; Shane seems way more sensitive than Ryland.

I think Shane’s just insecure about himself so it’s harder to accept genuine compliments from people. I have the same issue where I don’t believe people when they tell me that, but it’s a work in progress and everybody has their growth. Shane has come a long way in that department and I think it’s just an internal thing to work on. Nothing that should be put against him though or used as an insult (not saying that you are btw) 😊
Watching this made me realize that Ryland and I have the exact same personality. Like describing how I am to a tee with the games and stuff 😅 anyways, I was legit laughing out loud at this vid thank you for making my day 😇

I had my son on August 10th and loved spending the last part of my pregnancy getting ready for parenthood along with you. But my sweet baby boy, Sawyer passed away 17 hours after birth. I never noticed before how different u both r, I don’t know if being married changed things where u both pick on each other & seem polar opposites of each other. If u truly r fighting this much now when this shld be the best time to be together without the responsibilities of raising children, the twins will change everything in ur relationship bc they need all the attention from both of u especially when they’re newborns & ur first time parents. It will take a lot of patience, compromise, flexibility, sacrifice & understanding. Pls be kind to each other & being happy is better than being right all the time.

In regard to the baby shower topic, I’ve always thought they were super awkward. But I digress, the only baby shower that I’ve been to and fully appreciated was the one where instead of cards, they asked for childrens books and on the inside you wrote your little congratulatory note!! Also, just as a suggestion, the queen herself, Dolly Parton has the Imagination Library. They send out books based on ages of the children. ❤
